My left driver side parking light is out.
Can you get to that light to replace it easily, without removing bumper, etc??
And if so, what kind of bulb does it take??

View 2 RepliesPassat (B6) :: 2008 VW - Both Front Parking Lights Not Working
I have an '08 VW Passat with a 2.0T FSI Engine and both of my front parking lights aren't working. A while back, I got body work done on it and then it was returned to me with that warning sign. I didn't make a fuss because I got a really good deal on the bodywork and figured I could just look into it myself.
I don't think it's a faulty connector because all of the connections seem to check out.
Passat (B6) :: 2008 - How To Change Front Parking Lights
I read a few posts about changing the front parking light bulb (I think the same a city light in some countries?) in a 2008 VW Passat B6 and it seemed a quite difficult affair. However, after performing it myself I realized it's very simple and shouldn't take more than 5 mins:
First locate the cover for the front headlights:
Then open the brackets on the bottom and top of the cover. For me it worked better to open the bottom bracket first. Just flip it down with your finger:
Then inside the housing, locate the plastic flap for the parking light bulb:
Just pull it straight back. There is no hinge or anything, so just a quick pull back should do the trick:
Change the bulb and re-assemble everything back.
Phaeton :: Front Parking Light Is Not Illuminating
Not sure what they are called, but my front/right side/orange colored /non-blinker/US configured light is not illuminating. This is the fairly dim light that comes on along with the headlights.
It doesn't look easy to access in terms of bulb replacement, so how to get at it...or perhaps it's as simple as a fuse change.
Passat (B5) :: Rear Parking Light Went Out, But Brake Light Works
Recently purchased a 2001.5 Passat, and of course got the mod itch... started with an Neuspeed ECU flash & DV, along with K&N... and now I'm in the process of suspension & exhaust... Unfortunately the past week, I was told that I had a tail light out.... Upper Rear Passenger Side Parking/Brake Light.... So I figure, hit up the parts store, grab a new bulb, and I'll be set...
Well, come to find out that it's not the bulb....
The light works when I brake, so 1/2 of the bulb is good... but the parking lights won't come on that side, but on the driver side everything is good..... even with the new bulbs..(replaced both on that side[passenger] just to be sure.)
So, just out of curiosity, I took one of the old bulbs that I thought was shot, and put it in the drivers side, and what do you know... it worked flawlessly on that side...
So, I'm led to believe I have a short... or a wiring problem somewhere... but I can't see how this could have just happened without really messing with anything... I mean, I disabled the DRL's.... but I even undid that(small piece of tape covering the B prong)... just to make sure..
Prius (2004-09) :: Front Parking Light Broken
My front right (passenger) side parking light is broken and I can't figure out how to change the bulb. The left (driver) one is a simple twist and done, but the right one is just impossible.
View 6 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Parking Light Does Not Come On When Other Lights Are On
So here's the deal... My left rear parking light does not come on when the lights are on...all other lights and signals on the car are perfect...if you press on the brake, then the parking light bulb lights up just as if you were braking, and when you let off the brake it goes blank again. Its not the bulb, and its not the light bulb module because i took out the other rear one and plugged it in and had the same problems and plugged the "bad" module into the "good" side and it worked fine. So it looks like there is a bad wire somewhere correct? Also...I looked up in the car wiring diagram and that red/black wire leads to the ABS control....so it would have to be a bad wire between the light and the abs?
View 4 RepliesPassat (B6) :: How To Change The Parking Light Bulbs
Any tricks that will make this job easier? They seem buried and when I reach I am only guessing as to what I am pulling out. For example, I pulled out a round cover, but what was it covering up? Must the bulb be twisted and then pulled or just pulled?

I have a 2000 Passat and brought it to a local shop to have the left front wheel bearing changed. He took the car apart and said he couldnt do it because the anti lock brake wire ran threw the control arm and had no plug on it and was wired right to the dash board. Should i find a different place to take it to or is it a dealer required fix. Can i buy the bearing myself and change it?
View 1 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Upper Front Control Arm Replacement / Installation?
I am replacing the driver side up front control arm as the ball joint has gone bad. Got a febi/bilstein arm and all the necessary bolts from ecs. Lifted up the car, front pinch bolt is seized of course so it is currently soaking in pbblaster. The nut came off fine, which I've read doesn't always happen.
On to my question, I loosened up the rear bolt on the control arm, but it has no room to come out? Ive been searching through old threads both on here and passat world for a diy. I found the one on audi world that many people link to. And it seems to skip over this little part.
As of now the only option I can think of is to cut the head off the bolt, and push force the rest of the bolt out. But then to reinstall the bolt would have to go in on the other side? I have a picture to hopefully better illustrate what I am talking about.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Passenger Side Front Parking Light Would Randomly Not Turn On
At first the passenger side front parking light would randomly not turn on until you gave the light assembly a hard tap. Now I am having the same problem with the driver side low beam light. I checked the harness connector and it clicks firmly into place. So, I am guessing there's something not grounded properly somewhere on the light assembly. I'm hoping that a light film of dielectric grease will work but I can't tell where to put it.

2003 passat wagon. I have searched all over without any luck. How do you remove the parking light covers (the ones on the corners of the car, built into the chrome trim)?
I can tell it is spring loaded, but I cant see how it pops out to change a burnt out light bulb.
