Accent LC (2000-05) :: 2004 - Fast Idle And Cooling Fans Won't Come On

Few issues I am having with my 2004 Hyundai Accent GL Automatic 1.6 with 150k.

The first issue is the idle speed. The car idles between 1500 and 1800 RPM no matter if you just start it or if you drive it 200 miles. I have replaced the IAC valve, and that didn't change anything. I cant seem to find any vacuum leaks.

The second issue I am having is that the engine cooling fans do not come on when it gets up to temp.

I replaced the coolant temp sensor, and that didn't seem to work. I also tried swapping the relays, but nothing happened so I just pulled the relay for the cooling fan and ran a jumper wire so the fans run all the time while the car is running. It keeps the car cool, and I can drive it, but I want it to work right.

The third issue is that the car sometimes bogs out when you are pulling out or in traffic with the AC on. It almost sputters and hesitates when you try to go. It runs great at highway speeds. Could these issues all be tied together maybe the same problem?

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Cooling Fan Spun Too Fast

My truck was parked at home and hadn't been started for 10 days. When I did start it for the first time, I heard the cooling fan spooling up or down, consistent with the engine rpm. After pulling away from my home I saw the fan speed spool up to near 2,800 rpm during the short period it was locked-in with the engine speed.

While driving out of my neighborhood, and about 1/3 of a mile from my house, the fan returned to normal speed of about 480 rpm. I have the FSS pid displayed on my Scangauge and was able to see the fan speed while hearing it. Now I know what the fan sounds like at a high rpm. It makes quite a roar.

This has never happened before. I've driven the truck a few times since then and it hasn't occurred again. What may have caused this?

Passat (B6) :: 2006 - Cooling Fans Won't Shut Off

I have an 06 Passat 2.0T, and last night whenever I shut off the car, the cooling fan is constantly running. I had to unplug the battery so it wouldn't drain it, and about 5 hours later, I hooked it up and it stays off. I also noticed when turning on the air conditioning, the smaller fan doesnt kick on. I'm lost and don't know where to start. Could it be a thermal switch or the whole fan assembly

Toyota :: Thumping Noise Goes Fast Or Slow Depending On How Fast Whipping Around

My roommate owns a 1987 Toyota Van. Those vans that have the Motor under your butt. Anyways, when we make a sharp turn (like fliiping) in either direction, we start hearing a thumping noise... It goes fast or slow depending on how fast your whipping around. We thought it was a CV joint, but, it looks like there isn't a CV Joint (Axel) Where to start to solve this?? Cause even when it goes down the highway you go into the curve and your really hear it.. The lug Nuts on the van are Tight, I've checked. We may think its a wheel barring..

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Knocking After Fast Idle On Startup

2008 SONATA i4. The transmission started to whine a lot when first driven when cold, well transmission was replaced under warranty due to "pump failure"? I noticed that the loaner car I received for tranny replacement had a knock at startup so I called and told the dealership about it, they said it was the timing chain, it was a v6, oddly it didn't sound like timing chain to me, started after fast idle and went away within about 100 feet of driving.

2 days after I got my car back it would knock after I started it up cold when it came down off fast idle, and would knock for about 100 feet of driving or so, then the knock would disappear until the next cold start. exactly like the loaner V6. Well took my car in to have it looked at, got another loaner, 09 sonata I4, same knock, service couldn't replicate problem with my car.

Went ahead and got oil change, drove car home and the next day it had the same knock at startup when cold. Just took it back to dealership to have them look at irregular tap/knock when warm at idle, also car still has startup knock, but just not as loud.

Passat (B6) :: Hard Time Shifting Fast From 1st To 2nd When Accelerating

Was having a hard time shifting fast from 1st to 2nd when accelerating hard, it was like something was blocking the 2nd gear gate, same thing sometimes when downshifing fast from 6th to 5th.

After JT recommending it here, I installed the Neuspeed torque arm insert. Used a scissor jack on the left front side (it has a wide base), got under the car from the front bumper passenger side. 21mm bolt was tight, but got it out with a regular length 1/2 inch socket bar. Insert was hard to get in (even after spraying silicone on it), finally just sprayed silicone into the existing bushing and the insert slipped right in.

First test drive really made it easy to shift from 1st to 2nd under hard acceleration only a slight bump when entering the 2nd gear gate, downshifing was smooth too. Down side? none that I noticed, no vibration.

Passat (B5) :: 2003 - Making A Lot Of Noise - Engine Fan Is Running Very Fast

My '03 passat w8 just started making a lot of noise which sounds like the engine fan is running very fast and blowing like mad even though my car is not warm. It started 3 nights ago and sounds like a street sweeper, which is what I thought it was until I looked around and saw there was no street sweeper to be found. When I turn the car off the noise winds down and disappears with the fan still running just making the normal amount of fan noise so I don't think the problem is the actual fan.

Golf V R32 :: 2006 - Cooling Fan Keeps Kicking?

it can be 2* outside here in the winter and my fan will kick on even right after a cold start.

my rad. the fan kicks on and off randomly for some reason, when it does it makes my idle jump up a few hundred RPM's at the same time. it can be 20 sec. after I start my car, from a cold start, or anytime. AC is not on, as I leave it on the economy. this is in a 2006 A3 3.2 (not that it should matter)

are there any common issues that I should check? fan switch? or any other sensor that might be the cause?

Ford A/C :: 2006 SD - No Noticeable Cooling

2006 SD 5.4 born in WY so the AC was probably used a lot. 126k. The system is charged. The clutch gap was too wide and when I took the ac clutch off, and there was only one spacer in there. I removed the spacer and then my gap was too small. Without the spacer the clutch would come on for 2 seconds then go off for about 20.

At this point I still suspected the spacing, so this time I took the spacer and ground it down with my grinder (verry delicately). I put it back together and the spacing is better. The clutch now cycles on for several seconds longer than before, then turns off. Firmly pressing the clutch with a dowel does nothing at all.

With the gauges on the system, when the clutch is engaged pressure builds to the yellow caution zone (45+psi) then the clutch disengages and the pressure drops. There is no noticeable cooling in any of the above situations. Could my clutch be shot? Could my clutch be bad?
