Passat (B5) :: Remote Unlock Feature - Driver Side Lock Makes Noise But Other Three Doors Remain Locked
I have a 2001 passat that i have had for about 2 months. recently, about 2 weeks ago, i started having problems with the remote unlock feature. it will unlock the driver side door fine, but when i press the unlock button twice, the driver side lock makes a noise but the other three doors remain locked. when i press the unlock toggle on the driver side controls with the window controls, all the doors unlock fine. i have two remotes, one is pretty new and i just got it programmed (within a month) and neither one will unlock all the doors.all the other functions of the remote work fine.

My first question is, if it's possible to switch the beep-sound on, when locking or unlocking my doors by the remote. I think in the US its common to hear a sound when locking. Here in Austria it's forbidden (noice level), but I want to have that sound. Is it possible to engage it? Or is there something missing in my 2002 Camry?

We have a few dozen '10 Prius' at work. When I make stops and get out of the car, I like to lock my doors while the car is running so nobody can steal anything inside the car. I tried closing the door and touching the handle on both sides but I just get a long beep tone which lasts about 10 seconds. And sure enough, the door doesn't lock. I hate leaving the car unlocked and I'm used to our old cars where you were able to take the key out of the ignition and lock the doors while the car was still running.

Today at lunch break, I'm able to unlock all doors by double-clicking the unlock button on the remote. No more than 4-5 hours later, the remote only unlocks the driver door; it no longer unlocks the passenger or 2 rear doors; car is a 2001.5 Passat. I'm also still able to pop the trunk. Just for the heck of it, I tried my other remote, and I get the same results.

I did a search and read the manual but I can't seem to figure it out. Is there a way to unlock all of the doors by pushing the unlock button on the key fob once? I see in the manual it can be done I think by turning "remote 2 - press unlock" on in the car settings but it doesn't seem to work. Also am I reading correctly that there are no door unlock sensors on the rear doors? With my LS and my old IS I could touch the rear doors and all of the doors would unlock but this can't be done on the GX?

I recently purchased a 2006 Ford F-150 XLT and don't know very much about it, nor Fords in general. I was just wondering if there is any way to have the power doors unlock automatically when I shift into Park or turn the ignition off? It has the option to have the doors automatically lock once I reach 5-10 mph, but I can't find any information about programming it to unlock automatically. It doesn't have the programmable computer display, so everything requires pressing a bunch of buttons when the key is turned on accessory and things like that. I have kids who are always in the back seats, and it gets annoying trying to get them out of the truck when it's off and I forget to manually unlock them.

After going through a car wash my Prius has started locking all doors when I start the car and unlocking driver's and passenger front doors when I turn it off. Kind of wondering how this could happen, but since I like it that way I don't really want to change it back. For the past 2 days my car has started beeping when I open the door after I push the power button to turn it off. It flashed a red lock type symbol in the lower right side of the screen as well. On Friday I opened the liftgate using the button by the driver side and it was normal. I pressed the same button to close it and I heard a crunch type sound and went back to check if the lock closed on something but it was all clear. I tried opening and closing again using the driver side button and the key fob and it makes the beep beep sound and it sounds like something mechanical is going on back there but the door doesn't move. The button in the glove box has not been touched and I checked the fuse compartment in the hood of the car and it appears to be intact.
Now the door won't open or close unless I manually open it and close it. After the beep beep the door sounds like its attempting to open but it just stays closed. And when I manually open the door and try to push the button on the door itself, or by the key fob or by the driver side button, it also just makes the beep beep sound and sounds like its mechanically struggling to do something and just stays open.
On Saturday I went up to the snow. It was freezing cold and higher altitude and as I was unpacking the back I tried to close the liftgate manually and it wouldnt even close. It closed a few inches and then it seems like the pressurized hinges got stuck. I eventually got it to shut but now I'm not sure if the problem is those hinges or is it something electronic or is the lock of that door just messed up somehow.

I have a 2015 sonata sport and every time I close my trunk it makes a long beep sound and then goes off. The sound is almost like if you close the car door and leave the keys in the car, almost like a warning sound.
