Passat (B6) :: Fuse For Interior Lights Keeps Blowing Out
My interior lights, including mirror lights and overhead interior light keep blowing my fuse. This is the 3rd fuse that's gone in a month. I am out of warranty finally. Would it be safe to upgrade the 5 amp to a 7 or 10 amp fuse. I am not about to chase down a possible short through my headliner/dash...

View 2 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Fuse 14 Which Controls Starter And Windows Keeps Blowing Up
The fuse marked #14 which controls the starter and the windows keeps burning. This first happened about 3 months ago and I took it in to a shop which charged me to check all the wires just to tell me that all the wiring was insulated properly and to let me know incase the fuse blows again to keep a spare at all times. Today it happened again and when I replaced the fuse it blew even before I could properly install it and blew 4 fuses in total.
View 7 RepliesPassat (B6) :: Horn And Steering Controls Stopped Working / Where Is The Fuse
Yesterday the horn on my 2007 Passat has stopped working completely. I have read the owner's manual from cover to cover and the fuse for the horn is not listed anywhere in any of the fuse diagrams - either for the engine compartment cover, or on the fuses listed in the interior by the driver's side.
In addition the MFD steering wheel controls have also stopped working, and there is also no night time illumination on those buttons. I'm guessing as these are also located on the steering wheel that the two problems might be linked. I can live without the MFD controls, but the horn is a safety issue.
Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Lock And Interior Lights Don't Work - Dome Light Fuse Blowing Off
I got Corolla 2012. Dome light fuse 10 amp is blowing off as soon as you put it in. Light bulbs checked seems it is not a problem. Maybe relay?
View 11 RepliesPassat (B5) :: 1998 - Lights Went Out Behind The AC Controls
I have a '98 Passat 1.8T with 76k and recently my lights went out behind my AC controls. At least that's what I thought happened. I took it to CarMax, where I bought the car, to have it fixed and they "looked" in the wiring diagram and told me that there are no lights behind that part of the console.
View 9 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Interior Dome Lights Illuminate Red When Instrument Cluster Lights Are On
Need to know if the little icons on your interior 'dome' lights illuminate red when your instrument cluster lights are on? (Just like the power window and dash vent icons..) Audis do, but I've never seen a W8 Passat at night to be able to tell.
Looking for a pic of your interior roof lighting? (Not the center console one near the sunroof control...that of course lights up and shows icons.) I'm looking for the ones towards the rear of the car.

View 3 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Interior Lights Won't Work - No Voltage
No interior lights work, so I checked the fuse # 14 according to the manual. Fuse is good, and the hot side of the fuse socket has 12+ volts. I pulled down the main interior light switch that's housed with the sunroof switch, and there's no voltage there at all.
View 1 RepliesPassat (B6) :: Interior Lights / LED Bulbs Won't Work
I recently tried to install some LED bulbs in my ride. And they all worked except the map lights in the front. I removed them all and now no lights work when I open my doors except my foot wells.. Any one know whats up?
View 7 RepliesPassat (B7) :: Airbag Error And No Interior Lights
I went to a stereo shop to have all my doors covered with DynaMat. They did a great job there but now I have an airbag error. How do I reset this? I do have a VCDS cable. I know it was because the battery was not unplugged before the door trim was removed so I'm not that worried, just wondering if VCDS can take care of it or I MUST go to the dealer.
My other issue are the interior lights. I had them all replaced with LED bulbs and when I left the shop I turned the map lights on and all was good. I left the shop to put some fuel in and when I started the car again I had no lights. Now NONE of my interior lights go on. What Happened? I've seen plenty of people with LED bulbs in their cars so I didn't think anything could go wrong? Do I just go back to the stock bulbs?
Passat (B6) :: 2006 - Interior Dome Lights Went Out?
I have a 2006 passat and today when i was switching the bulbs out with different colored ones and the lights just went out along with the visor lights. I have checked all the fuses and bulbs to make sure they just didnt blow. There isnt much on the internet about this topic. What i have found out on the net is it could maybe be the (CCM). But i am unable to find that also.
View 2 RepliesPassat (B6) :: Interior / Dash Lights Flickering
The last month or so, I have noticed that my dash board lights (red lights) and my actual interior lights that come on when you open the doors to vehicle will flicker sometimes...And it can get bad I guess and annoying. It's more of it pulsating really. I noticed today while driving home and I had the radio on loud it was doing it and I do not know if was just in my head that it was doing it more when the radio was loud or what, but this is ridiculous.

View 5 RepliesPassat (B5) :: 2000 - Interior Lights Would Randomly Work
Car is a 2000 Passat, 1.8t, APR, Forge Splitter, DV relocated, lowered.
Recently, the interior lights would randomly work and then not work when ANY door would open. Now all interior lights work at all, but the dash lights DO WORK as well as all the lights in the dash. It appears that the issue is isolated to just the map/reading lights. So no map and reading lights whether ANY door is open or if the switch is placed in the on position, this goes for the front, rear upper side lights, and the trunk light. The glove box and under door lights don't work as well. Consequently my drivers side window stopped working as well but I am thinking that may be a separate issue seeing as how the window kind of had a mind of its own before this all happened.
Things that I have checked:
1) I first thought that the microswitch in the drivers door was toast but the door alarm still works when the drivers door is open, the power locks still work, and the headlight alarm works when they are on and drivers door is open.
2) I checked the two main fuses for the 'Comfort Control' Systems. They were both fine.
3) I check for continuity across both of those circuits at the fuse block, the circuit is complete.
4) I checked the continuity of the fuses, they were fine.
The only thing I haven't physically checked is the CCM itself. I want to believe that this isn't the issue since I am religious about cleaning out my drains in the battery tray and door jambs.
Passat (B6) :: Interior Lights Not Working After Bending The Collector
Okay so I was trying to change my rear reading lights, but the lights started to flicker on and off, I thought the connecter was loose.
Stupidly I took metal pliers and bent the connectors a little closer to each other. And now the interior lights don't work =.=
Could the metal pliers on the metal connectors have blown a fuse or something?
