Passat (B5) :: 2004 - Fading Orange LED Lights On Dash?
I test drove a 04 V6 passat today and it was great, except the little orange LED lights as part of the bottom/center display in the instrument cluster were "fading" at the top and bottom. eventually they came back up and were brighter, but it wasn't anything that the headlight or interior light controls had any influence over. below is NOT an example of the problem itself, but the bright orange box is what I'm talking about.

My 2006 Prius wouldn't start yesterday. The dash lights blinked on & off and the fob was locked in the dash. About 5 mins. later it came out. I was able to jump start the car with no prob. I drove to the dlr. & they checked the bat. & charging system. They found no problems, but said I might want to R & R the bat. as it's 5 yrs. I want to stick with the stock bat. Aalso stated that the bat. was fully charged & when I went home I plugged in my battery tender. The car was wired for the tender already although I haven't had the need to use it until now.

I had just picked my kid up from school, as I turn out of the parking lot my A/C stops blowing cool air, I check the A/C screen and it still says it's set on High with temp at 68. However, it is blowing very low with warm air. Seconds later the dash lights up with numerous warning lights. I'm on the highway and I'm able to gather speed, but each time I do I hear the engine revving like crazy. We only live a few miles from the school so I am able to make it home. Once home, I turn off the car and turn it back on. The only warning lights displayed now are the red triangle and the yellow check engine light. I turn the car off, pop the hood, I check the belt and it was fine. I checked the oil and it seemed fine. I check the coolant overflow and it was empty.

OK. I just had a major repair on my 2001.5 Passat where they had to remove the dashboard. Now some of the little lights are out. You know the ones that are around the vents. The light on the vent on the far left that blows on the drivers left hand side. And the lights on the 2 middle vents are out. Will they now have to remove the whole dashboard to repair these lgihts? Also the light on the radio display appears a little dimmer now.

The last month or so, I have noticed that my dash board lights (red lights) and my actual interior lights that come on when you open the doors to vehicle will flicker sometimes...And it can get bad I guess and annoying. It's more of it pulsating really. I noticed today while driving home and I had the radio on loud it was doing it and I do not know if was just in my head that it was doing it more when the radio was loud or what, but this is ridiculous.

Our 2002 1.8t wagon has developed an intermittent "no crank" issue. All dash lights operate as normal, but when you turn the key to crank, it doesn't. The dash lights change, as if it were cranking, but what it seems like is that the clutch lockout is not engaged - ie, it acts just like you are not pressing the clutch. But, you are.
I can't seem to find any consistent thing that causes it to start - I've tried quite a few things:
- stomping on the floor by the CCM module.
- jamming down the clutch
- pumping the clutch.
One thing, (i.e., it worked once) was cranking around on the steering wheel. Anyway, after half-a-dozen or a dozen tries, all while whacking aound on various parts of the car, it will eventually start. If you turn off the car, it will start right back up again.
So, this might be able to be described as a "cold" issue, but that's not entirely confirmed too. It's my wife's car, and when she tries to go somewhere with a 2yo and a 5 yo, and the car won't start. The obvious possible things are the clutch lockout relay, the ignition switch, perhaps the CCM - but there's no wetness on the floor or anything. Any easy way to check the clutch lockout? The dash makes it pretty impossible to get under there.
I should add, no MIL, no OBD codes. Don't have a vagcom, just a regular obd2 scanner.
Passat (B5) :: All Dash Warning Lights On Within 1 Hour Of Driving
Diagnosing a few dash warning lights that come on all within an one hour of driving. While driving to a family gathering and after only 5 minute into the drive a get a warning light that looks just like a car battery. A minute after that I get "Alternator Workshop". Rather than stopping on the freeway shoulder I kept driving, because my 3 month old daughter on board. I would hate someone to plow into us. Therefore, I kept driving on slow lane without problems until15 minutes later I feel this thump and the car surges for a second. I thought it was a blown tire, but the ABS & another symbol (exclamation point w/semi-circle) & Airbag system lights came on all at once.
Luckily I was near an off ramp and I exited and pulled into a shopping center. Since it was already dark out, I did notice that my all my lighting and headlight were dimmer than usual and I also noticed less power from the motor. I quickly looked at the manual to find out what all these warning symbols meant. The battery symbol means problems like be loose or broken alternator belt or faulty alternator. I am hoping all these warning light are not separate repairs, but a single problem, like a bad battery, loose or broken alternator belt that is hindering all these other functions (ABS & airbag system).
Passat (B6) :: 2008 - All Gear Shift Lights On At One Time On Dash
I have a 2008 passat komfort with 53K miles on it (TSI engine). I had the water pump replaced two weeks ago at the local dealer. After this procedure I am getting all gear shift lights on at the same time on the dashboard, after I drive the car roughly 8 miles. I would like to avoid going back to the dealer since I don't trust them.

I have a Passat 2.0 TSI 2008. Today after having lunch I tried to start the car to return to my office, but it didn't start. The lights dimmed like the power was draining. I tried again and no sign of a start and no lights this time. Called my insurance 24h assistance. They brought a spare battery and we connected it so as I could start the car. The started this time. Disconnected the spare battery, and left the motor running for 10 minutes. Instead of turning off the car, I decided to drive it a while to feel if everything was fine.
Well, the A/C turns on, but automatically turns off in a few seconds. The cruise control shows an exclamation sign and the horn is faint. When I stopped the car I noticed that the lights on the dash were kind of faint. Now, I am not sure I will manage to turn it on again. The battery seems to be on good shape. It has about 1,5 yr now and I could see that the indicator is green.

Recently Ive been having issues with my prius 2008 , it all started when I was driving back home and 3 lights came up randomly. They were the VSC, (!), ! With triangle. I parked the car and turned it off and turned it back on the engine would not start and the 3 lights from before came up in addition to the check engine light, the abs, the emergancy brake and anti skid, and then the red car with ! Came up on the navigation screen. I had to unplug the startup battery and pluged it back in. it started and was fine for about a day. Cant run any tests until it happens again. We had the 12V battery checked and it is just fine.

2007 Prius with 105,000 miles, all was ok until after a few days when I went to the car, I unlocked with the remote key, put the key in, and nothing lights up or happens. The interior lights and headlights are fine, but nothing comes up on the dash, no amber/green start button, no radio etc.
I have attached a booster pack to the 12v battery but still nothing.
Prius (2004-09) :: 3 Dash Lights Comes And Go Intermittently
I just started getting 3 dash lights that come and go intermittently? ( I'm getting a (!), ABS and VSC lights in amber). I first had these three come on while I was traveling home one evening (traveling a little too fast /approx 84mph). This 2007 Prius has 276,000 miles on her. The lights will come on, them go out once I stop for a short period of time, or slow-down and travel at 40-50 mph.
I've checked the 12V battery and its seem to meet at the recommended voltages. I did have a recall on the inverter water pump around 150K. With that said, the pump does have circulation when I remove the cap? Over the 6+ years that I've owned this car, I've only changed the oil (synthetic), replaced tires, changed a water pump/alternator belt and a second set of replacement front brake pads. This has been the BEST car (maintenance and economy-wise) that I've ever owned! She's still consistently getting 48.2mpg. I've ordered the OBD pigtail and diagnostic software....
Camry :: 2004 - Dash Lights Out After HU Install
I just installed an Alpine radio HU into my 2004 Camry and butchered the wiring. I connected the orange and orange/white wires which are for dimmer and illumination. This caused my climate control and dash lights(rpm,speedometer) to go out. How can I get them to light up again?

Prius (2004-09) :: Cannot Shift To Drive - Dash Lights Are On
So my wife says she hit a curb last nite on her way to work, now this morning the car lost power several dash lights are on and the lcd display says problem on start up, and has a orange icon at the top left. It will only shift between park and neutral. The light on the power button wont turn green either. Currently I'm waiting on a tow truck.
