Passat (B5) :: Low Oil Pressure Warning In 2001 1.8t Wagon

I inherited a Passat wagon abt a month ago and I just got an Oil Pressure Low warning.

Long story short, took it to the mechanic said it was a sludge issue in the oil pick up and that he'll have to drop the oil pan to fix it.

Don't have that to give at this point.

I'm confident I can tackle it myself but I need a DIY guide or the Haynes repair manual to guide me along the way.

Passat (B5) :: 2001 - Gas Caps Shows Different Pressure?

i have a few...

1. the max pressure on my tire is 44...my gas cap tells me otherwise...which should i follow?

2. i have a 2001.5 passat and the manual says i need a 91H load/speed rating...the tires on my car are 89H...what problems might that cause?

i keep all 4 tires inflated at 30 psi and check them every week...despite that i have uneven tire wear on the outsides as if they are underinflated...i am inclined to think that i got ripped off with my tires...what do yall think? i also regularly align, balance, and rotate my tires...

Passat (B5) :: 2001 1.8 Oil Pressure Light Warning Comes On After About 5 - 10 Minutes Of Driving

I currently have a MK5 Jetta and my wife's van lease is up. I'm looking at picking up a 2001 Wagon 1.8t and giving her the Jetta. It checks out real well, the only issue is the oil pressure warning comes on after about 5-10 minutes of driving. Turn the car off and back on it goes away. He changed the oil when he got it a couple weeks ago, and didn't change the filter, he's taking it to his shop to have it re-done, and he was going to drop the pan and check the screen and pick-up and such. Has this been an issue or what may cause this?

Mitsubishi - Eclipse :: 2001 - No Clutch Pressure

My eclipse never had any problems it has 137k miles on it and a couple weeks ago we got a big snow so I didn't go anywhere so the car sat in the cold for 3 days without moving I tried starting it to go to work to.

Found out I had no pressure on my clutch went all the way to the floor. I bled the clutch refilled and it worked, drove it for 2 weeks no problem. We just got another big snow let it sit again n now it is doing the same thing. My mechanic said he couldn't find any leaks but I'm thinking it has to b a master or a slave leak.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Tire Losing Pressure

Long story short, I have a tire that is losing pressure. In two months it went from 30PSI to 10PSI. I caught the tire right before my trip to Vegas and filled it back up to 32PSI and today it was at 25PSI for a total of 22 days. I figure I am losing around .3PSI a day. Took it into Sams where I bought them and of course they couldn't find a thing wrong with them. Sprayed them with soap and water and dunked them in a trough but no bubbles. They weren't going to do anything, but I talked them into putting a new valve stem on and at least taking the tire off the rim and taking a look. I realize it could be a dynamic problem where it only leaks while the tire is rotating. Is there anything else that I'm not thinking about verses having a leaky rim?

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: No Pressure In Radiator Hose

I've noticed that my radiator hose doesn't have any pressure anymore, even after a long drive you can squeeze it nearly together, it is still hot like normal and the heater puts out hot air, the temperature gauge sits between half way between 1/4 and 1/2, would this be the radiator it's self, the thermostat or the water pump that may need replacing, there is no leaks that I can find or see...

LeSabre :: 2001 - AC Low Pressure Service Port?

My son has an 01 LeSabre Custom with 87k. He says the a/c isn't working. I tried to put my gauges on it tonight, but I couldn't find the low pressure service port, but there's two on the high side (one on either side of a tubing connector).

I figure it should be obvious. I'm worried that the system was previously dorked with...with the two high-side ports and no low-side port. But everything looks factory.

The dryer is in the front left (passenger) of the engine compartment (when standing in front of and facing vehicle). I see the low-side line from evaporator come into it, then out of it down to the compressor in the center bottom, behind radiator. No port that I can find.

While looking for the a/c port, I also saw CVJ grease splattered all over on the driver side...it's always something. Just bought this last February (couldn't check the a/c too well) to replace the very nice 00 LeSabre 55k we bought in November for him. But the 00 didn't survive the collision with the truck that pulled in front of him...

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2001 - Oil Pressure Light Comes On When The Car Is Moving

My oil pressure light is blinking and there is a faint smell of burning oil. I recently had an oil change after letting my car sit for 5 months after the oil pan was replaced. I have checked oil levels and it is just right. I have asked around and everyone comes up with a different answer but they also say they are guessing due to lack of experience with VW's. The light only comes on when the car is moving. When idling, everything appears to be fine.

Elantra XD (2001-06) :: Relieving Pressure In Fuel Rail

I picked up a Haynes manual for the engine/head removal. It has the procedure for 2003 pressure release by unplugging the fuel pump and running until it dies. Unfortunately the car does not run. I do not know what to do now.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: 3.5L - Oil Pressure Indicator Light Flickering

For the past several months, I've noticed a gradually worsening flicker in my oil pressure indicator light. The light is off if I'm accelerating or downshifting for a pass or a hill climb, and it also goes off when I'm coasting or de-accelerating.

It's never steadily on, sometimes it's just barely visible, other times its flickering, fading, and brightening, but never at full brightness. It doesn't matter whether I'm at highway speed or at a slow speed, it's only a change in rpm that makes it go out.

I'm hoping, hoping, hoping that it's a problem with the pressure sensor, and not with the oil pump itself. Does the oil pump tend to fail gradually like that, it is it more indicative of a sensor problem? I'm hoping the latter, because replacing the pump is a major undertaking, one that I doubt I would do myself.

Ford A/C :: 2001 Ranger - Low Side Pressure Too High?

I have a 2001 Ford Ranger 4x4 4.0L. It's been blowing warm air ever since I got it (about a year ago). After doing some research online, I bought a gauge (low side port only) and some R134a. After hooking up the gauge, I got a reading of about 100psi. I'm not very technically inclined about cars, what could be wrong?

Ford Excursion :: 2001 - AC Pressure And Idle Speed

I have an 01 2wd 6.8L with 143K. I was wanting to check out the AC before summer gets too hot. I was wondering if low and hi side pressures should be taken at idle with front and rear on max or with the idle around say 1500rpm? I have a 134a pressure chart and it says that at outside of 85 degrees it should read 45 and 255 approx.

Passat (B6) :: Low Tire Pressure Message Came On

I have changed the original tyres and rim under my B6 Car, and i have this information displayed,Low tire pressure, i have tried my best to deactivate that light but still it comes on. i Bought rim 17, and the tyre size is 215/50/17, that is a sports tyre, and the previous rim size is 16 and the tyre size is 215/55/16.. Now i dont know why the new rim shows low tyre pressure, I have taken it to the dealer for decoding but still its on. Where exactly this sensors that detect the pressure of the tyres are located, the rear side of the passenger trunk was jamped before or had being hit before and i changed the master disk, i don't know if that is what is causing this. I really want to know where exactly this sensors are located.

Passat (B7) :: Stop Low Oil Pressure, Warning Came On

My wife has gotten this message twice in our 2013 Passat, 2.5L SE. Not sure the exact wording of the message, but something to the effect of "Stop engine low oil pressure". The first was about a couple months ago and then again this morning. Both times it was on for about a minute or less and then went off. Obviously, it is a serious issue if real. Both were cold mornings, it being winter and all. We've driven plenty of miles in between and no message and I've never seen it personally.

Oil level is good and we're probably only about 4000 miles since last oil change. Its just weird that the message goes away quickly and was about two months apart.

Passat (B6) :: TPM's Malfunction - Tire Pressure Is Too Low

Passat (B5) :: Low Oil Pressure Light On After Warm Up

oil light on after warm up. 15 psi at idle, 23 psi at 2500 rpm . will get as high as 28 psi at any rpm above 3500 but no higher. heard of the sludge problem so i added flush and changed oil using amsoil 5w40. this did not change the pressures. when i drained the oil , i poked a wire in the drain hole to try to see if i could drag some sludge out but there did not seem to be any there.

I am thinking the oil screen may be clogged with some harder deposits which would require removal of the oil pan.does this all sound reasonable and what kind of difficulty is the oil pan job. it looks rather tight. this is a 1999 passat 1.8 t with a/t.

One other thought: this vehicle just had a head job after a timing belt break. the valves were replaced etc. i wonder if that could have affected the chain driven oil pump?
