Passat (B7) :: Removing ABS Fuse Disables Traction Control?
I read up in an article I searched that removing the ABS fuse disables the traction, ESC, ABS, all that stuff. Is there a way that I can disengage my traction control and ESC without taking a fuse out if that is even possible?

My 2000 Passat 1.8T is being evil again. Fuse 15 keeps blowing and I can't seem to find where the short is... however, its stuck at my work. Its a pretty big short, the fuse sparks as soon as I put the fuse near it. BIG SPARKS. Any way to start it without that fuse in?

The trunk on my 2000 Passat is hard to open. I've lubricated all the hinge points and replaced both the lift struts. The new lift struts made NO difference over the old ones. Is this common with Passats or am I overlooking something? I also want to disable the daytime running lights on this car. Is this possible? If so, how is it done?

Passat (B5) :: 2000 - Power Trunk Release Won't Work?
I have a 2000 v6 glx passat. CCM recently got fried, brought to dealer and got replaced, they fixed all the leaks. I go to open with trunk with the remote and it doesn't work, so i go to the cabin and use the switch located at the bottom of the drivers door and that doesn't work either. I hear a clicking in the fuse box so i looked around and fuse 38 clicks when ever i hit the trunk release button, fuse is fine, replaced with another one too, trunk opens with key manually. when fuse 38 is removed, trunk still doesn't open remotely or with button but the clicking stops.
View 3 RepliesPassat (B5) :: 2000 - Hard To Get Trunk To Latch All Of The Sudden
OK... '00 Passat GLX 4-Motion. I'm having problems getting the trunk to latch all of the sudden! I can shut it as hard as I want and it just does nothing and the light on the dash stays on, it's that way 99% of the time but every now and then I'll be driving down the road and all of the sudden it will just latch itself! The light goes out and when I get out I have to use the fob or the key to open it again! Is the latch electronically controlled by the BCM? When I physically inspect the latch, the "catch" seems to just be limp. It doesn't seem to be stuck one way or the other... just limp!

View 16 RepliesCamry 2012+ :: 2013 Removing Trunk Liner To Get To Brake Wiring
I'm trying to remove the trunk liner on my new 2013 Camry SE to get to the brake wiring so I can install a 4-pin trailer connector for my bike rack. My bike totally block the taillights when loaded, so I need some repeaters on the rack.
I removed a half-dozen push pins. There appears to be two plastic anchor hooks, one on each side of the trunk for a cargo net or something.
In addition, I removed some push-pins from the plastic trunk threshold, but it is still attached underneath. Are there pins molded into the panel on the back side or some sort of captivating device?
Ford Excursion :: Removing Wires From Under Hood Fuse / Relay Box
Well, it's starting to look like I may have to build my underhood harness from bits of multiple harnesses. I found a 2000 Excursion harness, but the engine plugs and wires were hacked off during engine removal.
After in-depth study of wire diagrams, it looks like I can just get a pickup harness and combine it with the aforementioned damaged Excursion harness to get what I need- and do it for about 50 bucks.
I also notice that there are a few Ebay sellers who just sell the fuse/relay box with the wiring harness hacked off of it. So my question is- how do you remove the wires (including the terminal ends) from the fuse/relay box? I've fiddled around with my burned up parts and can't seem to figure it out.
LS / MKZ :: 2000 V6 Won't Start But Click Sounds Comes From Fuse / Relay Box Under The Hood
I have a 2000 LS, V6, that won't start, had the battery and alternator checked and are fine, last week i notice when I turn the switch to start up there was a 1 or 2 second delay then it would start, the other day the wife called me at work to tell she she was out and it wouldn't start as I was talikng to her she tried it and it started right up, didn't do it again until this morning, check the fuses and all were ok, it started 2 times then about 30 minutes, nothing, and i mean nothing, the security on the dash doesn't indicate a problem, I turn the switch everything lights ups as it should, everything works(radio...etc.) go to start and nothing but click, sounds like it comes from the fuse/relay box under the hood, starter maybe? relay?
View 3 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: Trunk Open Light On Except When Braking
They originally had the issue where the truck open light was on accept when braking which I traced back to the harness in there trunk, a few months ago while they were getting there oil done there mechanic said they would just remove the harness and tie the wires together without the harness to prevent the possibility of a new harness corroding as well. but after doing so there rear defogger no longer works so somewhere they did something wrong but with the harness no there anymore I cant really tell myself.
View 1 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: 2003 - Trunk Light On Dashboard
I have an Accent 2003 - 2 door hatchback and for a while the light stays on, on my dash that the trunk is open.. I checked the lock, and the switch, and they are all ok.
Funny thing is, when I press the brake pedal, then the light turns of. Thought I would just deal with it, but it's driving me insane, looking at that light. I had to remove the light bulb from my trunk, since it is staying on all the time, and it had drained the battery.
I found through google some wiring schematics, but doesn't look like it's 100% correct.. Are there any available for my car, or even better, what it could be? (Faulty wire?)
Ford F-150 - 1997-2003 :: 2000 XLT - No Start - Two Relays And One Fuse Under The Hood Missing
Have a problem with starting. Truck had an alarm system that I took off. Reconnected the wires back to factory. Installed a new battery-starter cable. Checked and had no radio and no power windows. Found two relays missing and one fuse under the hood missing. Installed new. Tried again and have all accessories but will do nothing when turning key to start. With key on I can jump across solenoid by starter and it will start. Once started it will not allow me to shift out of park. If I shut truck off and turn key to on position I can shift out of park and into neutral and jump across solenoid and it runs. Once I shift back into park it kills the truck and we start all over again. I've traced wires and fuses and can't find anything. 2000 f150 xlt 4x4 5.4l....

View 4 RepliesVenture :: 2000 Silhouette Backup Light Don't Lit - Fuse / Bulbs Fine
This is for a 2000 Silhouette, yet I see there's lots more traffic for the Venture, so thought I'd start here first.
Backup lights don't light, when minivan put into reverse. b/up fuse ok (engine bay, #27), bulbs ok (swapped with new lights, and switched with turn lights, to confirm).
The circuit board is a potential, yet hard to believe that out of 8 bulbs, only 2 would go, and that would be 1 on each side, and only the reverse lights (not the marker, stop, or turn). Will go at it with a multi-meter, to see if there's current, for the next step.
Searches show that it could be the gear position sensor, stuck with what part this would be, and where this part would be. Would this be a pin-to-ground physical sensor, a gear position sensor by the transmission, something linked to the gear selector arm, etc? And once found, is this something that is replaced, or adjusted (imagine the reverse lights going on, when in neutral!)? Still looking for info, on that one.
