I'm having an issue with my drivers side door trim vibrating. Bumpy roads, snow covered roads, pretty much any road surface that isn't perfect, this piece of trip vibrates and makes a squeaking noise. I've attached a picture and put a circle where the noise is coming from. If I hold that part with my hand, the noise stops. It's very annoying since it's right next to my ear!

I've had this passat since it had 103k. Now at 167k. It's ran good. Til now. Lately its been having a problem starting. Goto start it and it takes a good 15-20 secs to start. Eventually starts but had a couple times when it started the engine would act like it was going to die then eventually stay running. I've noticed when the car sits for awhile. About 3-4 hours or more it starts ok. But say I run to the store and let it sit for 20 min to a hour then I have problems starting it. Had a local store test battery, starter, and alternator and everything tested fine except the starter failed on startup but then passed after the car was running for a min. So replaced starter. Still having starting issues. Recently I have changed the spark plugs and valve cover gasket.

I'm unable to open my trunk door with the remote, using the key, or with the switch on the drivers side door. I am also pretty sure it is not frozen shut. Will I need to switch out the complete latch assembly or just need to wd-40 something? This is for a 2000 Passat 1.8T Sedan.

So on my 2001 passat v6 the trunk wont open with the switch on the driver door for some reason and it seems the previous owner wanted to fix it and instead messed up and now the rear driver side door wont open even when its "unlocked".

I have a 97 XJ6 and the driver side door handle snapped off. For a while I just reached in through the window to open the door from the inside handle. Then that broke too. Now I can't open the driver side door at all. I took the inside door panel off as far as i could thinking I could open the door from inside the panel, but the connection from thew inside handle (the cable) is broken back at the door lock. I can't get it open that way either.

As long as we are mentioning things, the trim/gasket around my rear doors on my 08 Santa Fe does not fit right. You can see it in the attached photo. The gasket is one piece, and there is no way to arrange the slack so that there is not a gap. Maybe someone used the wrong one at the factory, or is this a common/known problem? I'll ask about it the next time I'm in the dealer.

Everything was fine with my 2000 F-150 until a few weeks ago when I went to open the driver's side pocket door and it would not open. Felt like the latch was releasing but would not open. I went around to the passenger's side pocket door to open it: SAME PROBLEM! This makes no sense; these two doors had worked fine, they operate independently, and I have confirmed with Ford dealers that there is no safety lock feature that may have been activated. Of course, the only remaining options appear to me either my tearing the doors apart, or worse yet paying someone else for the privilege.

I've got a 1997 F-250 that as soon as you put it in gear to go forward, the doors lock as is the norm on these "new" vehicles. My complaint is that when you stop an get out, the drivers side unlocks, BUT the passenger side doesn't. THEN invariably I go around to get something out of the passenger side and its LOCKED. That's when my blood pressure goes into orbit. A trip to my dealer yielded no cigar. He stated that some models could be tricked into unlocking, but not this one.

My fob doesn't close my driver door there for it doesn't beep. So I did some searching and I didn't find anything beyond just slamming the door which i did and it didn't fix it. I have an 03 Passat and the controls on the drivers door work only on that door, it is seemingly not connected to the other doors. For instance, only the drivers window will operate with the switch, but the others will operate with their individual switches. The door lock will only lock the drivers door as well, but if you use the passenger lock/unlock it works the other 3 doors only as well. The mirror control does not work either.
I checked all the fuses and everything seems fine.
Passat (B6) :: Driver Side Door Won't Open
Went to get into the car this morning & the my door wouldn't open! The handle will not pull towards me at all. Door can be opened from the inside though. I would like to avoid having to bring it to the dealer today.

I believe that my Driver Door is not recognized as being open at times. Odd things happen. Most notably the Ding for the 'Hey you left your Lights On' does not ding. Though if I shut the Door, Lock with remote, then wait a few seconds, then unlock with remote then open the door, it dings again until I turn off the Lights.
