Lexus SC430 :: Turns Over Then Just Shuts Down - Smell Of Petrol
I have a sc430 and I had to change the Ecu, I've had it mapped so the keys all match and now it wants to start but it just doesn't seem to want to kick in , it turns over then just shuts down, there is a smell of petrol so I'm assuming its getting trough , I just wondered if there is any other reason for it not to start ...

I have a high mileage 2002 SC430.
I have noticed that when I start the engine on a cold morning and start driving right away I hear a distinct "cracking" sound from behind the air vents (dash area) when accelerating. This only occurs when the engine is cold and when I am accelerating, this does not occur when the car is parked (I have not tried revving the engine when the car is parked, since it doesn't seem like a good idea).
A a side note, I do typically move the temperature setting to the max of 85 degrees on cold mornings, but the cracking sound often comes up 5-10 minutes after I change the temperature setting. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.
Lexus SC430 :: When Accelerating Torque Is Lost - Steering Felt Loose At High Speeds
I test drove the sc 430 the other day, I found it very smooth and very soft ride. I noticed that when I accelerate the car feels heavy as if it lacks the torque. Is this normal?
Also, the steering felt loose at high speeds above 60mph. Is this normal?
Lexus LS 2007+ :: Installed BC Coilovers - Rear End Is Too Stiff
Installed the coilovers , took it for a drive , the rear end is just way to stiff. It seems like there was no rebound at all. We have the setting to softest. When installing the coilovers, the whole spring and shock assy was about 3 inches shorter than the OEM parts. We have to jack up the lower control arm to get it to mount. Is something adjusted wrong?

About 15x now over the last year, I get in the car, press the brake, the green light comes on and half way through the start-up, the car locks up. Dead, nothing. The brake feels stiff, the key fob will not open the trunk, nor will it lock or unlock the doors, no more green or orange light on the start button. Completely dead.
The last time it happened, I opened the door, closed it again and everything reset. It came back "alive", the navigation system rebooted, the air was off and my clock had been reset. Some days this happens in a matter of a minute or two and other days it takes ten min to reset. Is it a faulty ground? Not sure why it would automatically reset on its own.

I have an issue when I go to start the car after it sits for as little as 30 min.The brake pedal is stiff and its hard to start since you have to depress the brake pedal prior to starting the car .

Recently had 2012 ES350 aligned at about 14,000 miles. Drives fairly straight at lower speeds on most roads, but on interstate has sharp left pull in left lane at around 65 mph and above. I am aware of road crown, but, in contrast to left lane pull, car has virtually no pull either way in right lane and tends to drive straight; steering at least seems to be stiffer than when I bought it and much stiffer than it seems an ES350 ought to be.

I frequently experience a short "pulling" like a course correction when the rig upshifts to 5th while accelerating in casual turns but only between about 35-40 MPH. Sometimes barely feel it, sometimes not at all but once a month or so, I get a good "pinch", enough to eb a bit scary in narrow lanes and traffic. Seems to only do this when accelerating from a stop, don't notice when driving on windy roads, etc.
No pulling while driving straight, braking or accelerating. Aligned twice by two different experienced people (knowledgeable of the air suspension) in two different places, new tires and rims, stepper motors hear and there thru the lifetime, with or without ESP, Sport, Normal or Off-Road height. Is it the self levelling kicking in, pitch/yaw sensors, ? Absolutely only in turns while accelerating and when it upshifts to 5th.

Lexus GS 2006-11 :: GS350 AWD Won't Start - Steering Wheel And Brakes Are Stiff
I have a 2007 GS 350 AWD and when I got into the car yesterday the car wouldn't start. It won't even turn on to turn on the radio or roll down windows. The steering wheel and brakes are stiff and the last message I saw was S/T Lock on the dash. I thought it was the battery since sometimes when leaving the lights on auto mode they don't turn off which I thought killed the battery. I bought a brand new battery after trying to recharge the "dead" one and even with the new battery nothing happens. Just now after hitting the unlock button a bunch of times I tried starting it and the ignition button turned green a load up screen came up but still wouldn't start. Now it's back to doing nothing with the steering wheel and brakes stiff with no green ignition light.

I've had the stiff ride issue with my 2005 gx470. Took it to three lexus dealers and finally the vehicle is fixed. Hats off to Lexus of Maplewood, St Paul, MN. Their shop foreman persisted and found after several days troubleshooting; a speed sensor was the culprit. My ride is much smoother over speed bumps without the need to cycle through the height adjustment.

Tried to start my 2007 es350 this morning. While I was attempting to start I was also adjusting my seat backwards and the car failed to start. The gas pedal is stiff and so is the steering wheel. The Start button turns orange when I try to start , if I really press down hard on the brakes the start button turns green but when i press it there is a flickering noise but she doesn't start. What could it be ....battery is about 9 months old?

Mine is a 2015 ES350. I drove it normally on last Friday. Today Monday morning, the car can't be started. Other symptoms are no any lights, stiff brake, shift locked in parking position, no clank with a jump starter.
The battery connection is tight; I also tried both keys and holding it right next to the start button. It seems like the car system is shut down.
I may call AAA to tow to dealer. However, the shift is in parking mode. Is there any way I can override the shift to N?

My 04 gli makes a rubbing noise when accelerating thru hard left turns.. but weird enough i can take the same turn at the same speed in neutral and have no noise at all. I changed both front wheel bearings and cant seem to find the answer. I brought it to vw and they checked the whole suspension struts springs cv's tie rods ect. and they all checked out good they said. the car used to have a exhaust and i just recently put it back to stock, could the exhaust make the noise perhaps?

I have a 2007 Sonata 3.3 V6 GLS (CDN model) with 102k km (63K miles). Recently, I am noticing a rotational metal-like grinding noise from the front left wheel / engine area when engaging in hard right and left turns - usually a long looped highway on-ramp or sharp 90 degree turns. The interesting thing is this only happens when I am accelerating through the turns - when I left off the gas and cruise I don't hear it anymore.
On the side, I am also getting a single clunk noise when shifting from Park to Drive and vice versa from the same area (front left wheel) - not sure if this is related (i.e. if this is all related to a failing CV joint or wheel bearing).
Toyota - Camry :: 2012 - Hesitation Before Accelerating When Trying To Get Back Up To Speed After Making Turns
Nearly new Camry with 9,000 miles. When trying to get back up to speed after making right or left turns, there is a definite hesitation before accelerating. No hesitation when accelerating from a dead stop. Also transmission kicks down at very small hills/grades where if not on cruise control, it would not need to "kick down" to maintain speed. This is a 4 cylinder engine and provides adequate power when not running in "cruise". I suppose this is just the nature of the breed. Except for these two small problems, it is a fine comfortable car.

Have an 07 gs350 awd and lately the pedal feels stiff and doesn't depress all the way down at startup. Sometimes the steering wheel will go back up as if I have just stopped the car and occasionally I will get the message on the dashboard that I need to press the brake pedal at startup even though I am doing that. Dealership claims they can't duplicate problem and don't know what it could be.
