Lexus SC430 :: 2002 - Stereo Volume And Equalizer Functions Not Working
Volume and equalizer controls stopped working on my 2002 this morning. Were functioning when I drove to the tennis club but not working on subsequent start up.

I just purchase a 2002 SC430 with only two (minor) issues. First: the radio display does not work. Everything else is fine. The CD changer works, the radio works, the steering column controls work. The display is blank. Lexus solution is 650$ for a new radio. Seems like there should be a simpler fix.
Second, the panel covering the display does not come down. I can pull it down, and it will go back up with the push of the button. But it will not go back down. Again Lexus fix is 700$. I guess I can keep pulling it down for that price, but how was it resolved.

Just disconnected battery to give a full charge because car sat for the winter and hood was propped open which killed the battery. Meanwhile I reconnected the battery and only the lights will come on. The car will not start with key in ignition. Don't know if there is a security issue or just what.

I replaced the battery, red light lights up but none of the functions work. Other remote works fine. I followed the instructions in the manual about resetting a remote but it doesn't work. Started doing some research and found many options and spare parts available. Also found several different ways to reset but none have worked. Thought it might be a good time to replace the worn remote with a new one too. I ordered new parts, put the immobilizer in the new body and it starts fine but still can't get any of the remote functions to work.

1998 passat. the drivers side rear door functions don't work; the power window does not work and the power door lock does not operate in the door. the other 3 doors work fine- power windows and locks. In my current speedometer the speed needle doesn't work i did everything and changed all sensors and checked all related issues and all is fine turned out the issue was with the speed gauge it self. So i bought my self a used speedometer.
Now my question is, how to dismantle the speedometer cause I want to take out the speed gauge from my old one a replace it with the new one i know its much easy to change the whole thing but I don't want to play with the mileage I have on my car.

So, my door actuator is acting up. When it's hot outside, and the car has been parked under the sun, the keyless system won't work. I need to use the physical key.
But if it's cool, or if it's parked indoors in shade, the keyless system works. Is this something that needs to be replaced, or is it an easy repair? Summer's almost over, and it may not be an issue for another year...

The heated seat on the driver side does not work. I replaced the switch (near the center console) and checked the fuse, but it still doesn't work. The light on the switch comes on, but no heat.

wheel balance
wheel alignment
2 rims rerolled that were out of round
bushes and suspension all checked
moved wheel positions front to back etc
Thinking now maybe driveshaft or uni joints ? or new tires but that's an expensive exercise !!

Noticed the antenna did not go all the way down. It will also not go up. When I turn the radio off the motor grinds for few seconds but the antenna does not go all the way down. Mast problems? Any links how to fix it?

My check engine light came on.. so I took it to express tires.. And they said that they need to replace my vacuum hoses cause it busted ... well when I saw the guy used the obd checker thing.. after checking the codes.. i saw that when u turned on the engine.. the vsc on and vcs off lights came on..
So I figured after he fixed the problem.. it will go off.. well after he got done.. fixing the problem.. I drove away.. after bout like 2min.. i had to turn around cause the vsc on and vsc off came on.. and I told the guy to check.. And he used his checker.. and there was no problem.. and the "check engine" light is not on anymore.. just the vsc on and vsc off!!
Could the checker.. messed it up??? the vsc off button.. only works when the key is turned on.. " not when the engine started but right before it.. when the power comes on" so the button is working correctly.. it just comes on.. when i start driving the car...
And no they did not check my tire pressure or do anything to the tires or the wheels.. it just turned on.. when he inserted the obd thing to check..

Is it dangerous to be driving with the vsc and vsc off light on??
