Elantra HD (2006-10) :: 2009 - Alarm Activates Randomly Only In Garage
We moved to a new home two months ago.My 2009 elantra alarm randomly goes off only between 9:30pm and 8:30 am and only when in my garage or driveway. Dealer "adjusted hood sensor" and it still activates. Seems the issue must be in my garage as didn't happen prior to moving and happens no where else. I disconnected the garage remote wireless sensor tonight to see if that could be culprit.

I recently purchased my 2011 Camry XLE and have had the car alarm go off while the car was sitting in my driveway. This happened a few times and I thought I would push the plunger door switch in and out a couple of times to see if this would work. It did for a while like 2 weeks and then yesterday the car alarm went off again while it was sitting in my driveway again.
I grabbed my key and hit the door open button which turned off the alarm and locked the doors with the remote key fob. About an hour later the alarm went off again. I stopped the alarm again by hitting the open door button and then went out and pushed the door plunger button in and out again. So far the alarm hasn't gone off again.
When this first happened I took it back to the dealer and they said they tested the alarm system and found nothing wrong with it. Is it safe to assume that it is a bad door button? Is there any record in the car's computer that would tell when the alarm went off and why? Can the door plunger button be adjusted to correct this?
Volvo - XC90 :: 2005 - Alarm Going Off Randomly When Car Sitting In Driveway
I have a 2005 Volvo XC90 with 120K+ miles. About 2-3 months ago, the car alrm started going off randomly, while sitting in my driveway. Generally it would go off around 9-11 pm, but also at any other time. It has gone off 5 times in a row within 5 mins. It has gone off at 3 AM, 4:10 am, 5:15 am, and other totally random times.
It happens anywhere from 2-5 or 6 times from when I get home til I leave in the morning. But here's the thing......it ONLY GOES OFF IN MY DRIVEWAY. Only. I have taken the fuse out, had the remote starter and alarm disconnected, tried leaving it unlocked, tried parking in a neighbors driveway. It still goes off.
The time are so random that no one can figure it out. The weather makes no difference. I literally keep my keys in my hand at all times when I'm home so that when the alarm goes off, I can turn it off as quickly as possible. I keep them on the floor outside when showering and in my hand when I go to bed.
The Volvo dealer says he's seen it 100's of time and he can fix it, but when I told him it only happens in my driveway, he said he had no idea what the problem could be. It's going to a car shop next week to see if they can disable the factory installed alarm but I hear that's nearly impossible.
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Small Drops Of Radiator Fluid On Garage Floor
So i noticed some red fluid on the garage floor where the gx parks. I narrowed it down to radiator fluid. Lower side drivers side radiator has some of this red in the corner. I don't see anything else leaking and the red drops are small. Is there something on that side that might be causing this besides radiator? A line that i cant see or noticed yet?

Yesterday the power steering exploded on our 2008 Lexus RX 350 spewing power steering fluid all over the under carriage of the car and the garage floor. Left a trail every where we went. The loss of fluid caused the power steering to quit working. I had no prior signs of any leaks of any kind and no noise or symptoms from the steering prior to this. Had this happened on the highway at speed, I don't know what could have happened.
Loss of steering and the catalytic converters covered in oil could have resulted in a fire and or wreck. I see on line that power steering leaks seem to be a problem with many Lexus models. I have heard that a screen/filter in the power steering solenoid can clog causing the pressure in the system to go sky high blowing the rack seals. Some have said that by cleaning the filter and flushing the system that the problem can be solved without having to replace the rack and pinion.
Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Rear Suspension Clunking Noise When Go Up A Slanted Driveway
Noticed this rear suspension noise on their RX330's. Every time I go up a slanted driveway (driving into a driveway at an angle, not head on), there is a clunking noise coming from the right rear of the car. The sounds it makes is almost as if I the spare tire is lose hitting on the right side of the car. This only happens if I am driving into a driveway coming from the right side, the sounds does not happen if I am entering my driveway from the left side.

i have a 2003 gx470 the last couple of nights the alarm has been going off by its self first i thought it might be just the cat or something but no in the early mornings around 3am and 5 am its been going off i would turn it off lock it and about 5 mins later it would go off again does it about 2-3 times also i tried leaving it unlocked and still does it and it only seems to go off in the early morning as i said and doesn't go off all day what it could be maybe a short in the alarm or something?

I have a 2003 GX and, last night, the alarm kept going off. I've had the truck for about 6 months now and not had this problem before.
I'm wondering if maybe a switch on one of the doors is having a problem. Why? Well, my boys have their baseball stuff in the back (fall ball here in FL) and, if it's pushing against the back door, the light inside will come on under acceleration. Seems like maybe it pushes against the door just enough to make the switch think the door is open.
Last night was the first, "cold," night here in FL we've had since I got it (got down into the mid-50s--I know it's all relative). I wonder if it's causing the door to not push the switch in enough.
I'm totally guessing on this one. I only suspect the good switch because of the problem I had with it and the light coming on before.

Several months ago one of my 20" toyo tires was flat when I came out of work. Being a high school teacher, I thought that perhaps it was a students involved situation. That came as a surprise in that as a teacher of over 37 years, nothing has ever happened to any of my vehicles, while parked at school. Also I found it strange that they would let air out and put the chrome valve cap back on. Well, over the weekend, the same thing happened, with the car parked in my garage. So in both instances the tires went flat, I filled them back up and they held air. This happened months apart.

So for the last couple of weeks I've been noticing small drops of oil on my garage floor. So today I took the plastic off the bottom of the engine and the carpet was full of oil.(Not Good). So I was check it out an noticed an oil return line of some sort the had drips coming off of it but I'm not sure the name of it. I know it prob sounds silly. But I can take it to the shop with out them charging me an arm an leg just to see where the leak is coming from.

RC 350 parked in garage, 40 deg, F, for 4 hours. Happened to walk by and heard noise. Sounded like a quiet, harsh electrical hum are air escaping. Not positive but it seemed like the source was at the rear of the car and not the garage door. Noise stopped before I could trace it further. This was a second occurrence. So far no dead battery or flat tires!

My car usually is park in the garage. I was out of town this weekend and parked outside in 30 degrees weather, then my ML system's HDD won't start up. No GPS, no HDD audio and no voice command? It work again this morning after it sat in the garage overnight. I think this happened before last year also. Can I get the dealer to replace the HDD with my platinum extended warranty?

I have a 2011 premium and I just went out in the garage for something and happens to hear the compressor running. It turned off after about 10sec but I haven't driven the car for 8 hours. I have a sulfur smell in my 05 since new, it now has 23k and is a little better now. The dealer said to switch gas stations. I haven't noticed this. I notice it going up hill with the top down sometimes but mainly after parking it in the garage. The dealer said it would not hurt the car. I worried that it is running too rich and damaging the coverter, plus it is annoying. I love the car but it sure isn't perfect.

For starters I hardly drive my gs430 and ill put it this way. Its almost been a year and i still haven't put 5k miles on the vehicle. back to the matter at hand. I am starting to see an oil leak in my driveway from this vehicle. I am unsure exactly where its coming from. It could be from the valve cover or the cam seal (assuming that is what it is called). The leak is above the alternator that is why I think its the valve cover and or the cam seal (if that's what it is)...

I have what I thought was an oil leak as I noticed some oil drippings in the garage virtually everyday. The last time I had the oil changed, I asked the Tech to take a look and see if he could tell where the drip was coming from. He told me he saw no evidence of a leak, however, there continues to be oil appearing on the garage floor.
Last week I took the car to the Lexus dealership in Smyrna, GA for some brake work and an alignment, and told them about the "leak" and asked them to take a look for me to see what is going on. They told me they found no evidence of a leak.
Fact is, oil is coming out of the car, slowly, but surely and two times I was told by those that had the car lifted that they can find no evidence. I assumed the dealership would find it, but no. What is going on?
