Lexus LS 2007+ :: Rear End Vibration At Speeds Of 60 Mph+

My car is a 2008 LS460 SWB. I bought it with 69,000 miles on it, has about 75,000 miles now. Car has had a rear end vibration at speeds of 60 mph+ since I bought it. The vibration seems to lessen when I have a full tank of gas. So...I took it to my Lexus dealer. They put it on the lift and showed me how the two rear tires appeared to be slightly out of round and said that was probably the culprit.

I then bought winter tires and put them on. Still had a vibration. Was told to wait until I put all season tires on, then they'd start to pursue.

I put Pirelli P7s on yesterday. Seem like a great tire, but I'm still feeling a rear end vibration. All 4 wheels were road force balanced. I will be taking my car back to my Lexus dealer to see if they can diagnose. What are causes of rear end vibration. Wheels are not bent, BTW.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Deep Vibration Coming From Rear Of LS460l

I just purchased a 2009 LS460l and noticed a really deep vibration coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vibrations occur when I am at a complete stop and attempt to accelerate the vehicle turning to the left or right. Initially, I thought the tires were rubbing (18inch wheels), but after taking it to my local Lexus dealership they seemed confident the vibrations were occurring because my center differential needed to be flushed a refilled with 3 quarts of new fluid (they claimed the fluid was filthy) which is ~$150/quart. The car has brand new tires and all of which were just balanced/aligned.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Vibration At Highway Speed - Steering Wheel Out Of Balance After Rear Shock Replacement

Since I got my car back from the dealership after changing the rear shock this summer, I can feel a vibration in the car at highway speed. After the shock were replaced the car steering wheel was out of balance and pulling one side. After they attempt to align the car about 5 times it got a little bit better. Then I found out that they had an accident with my car and tried to hide it: [URL] ....

I suspect the tie rod may have been damaged so that could explain the steering issue. It also seems to have gotten worse over time. I'm trying to figure out the possible cause, if directly related to the tie rod damage or indirectly as if the tie rod damage could have caused uneven tire wear and then causing the vibration over time. I've attached some pictures, the 2 first are from the front passenger side, the 2 last from the front driver side. My tire are the Michelin pilot and this thread seems to suggest those tire might be hard to align properly: [URL] ....

I'm due for my winter tire change soon and see if thing gets better, I'll get them balanced too. I'll check at the same time for control arms/shock damage. But still, I would like some feedback and see if those tread wear are normal and hopefully get to the root of the problem (the outer edge on the tire in the back are much less damaged).

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: High Speed Vibration Come From The Rear

I had this item of concern as a response to another thread but I thought I'd open up a new thread and see if I could get any more attention.
I bought a used GLS and upon initial drives I have noticed a high speed vibration that seems to come from the rear (I don't feel any in the steering). In the colder weather recently I've noticed a pronounced vibration at a lower speed (just before shift points). between 2nd and 3rd. This seems to be worse with short drives or in morning.

Vibration seems to be worse just after a tighter right turns or even some left turns. I notice the most vibration right around 25mph. I also get it with moderate acceleration into a certain torque range. Like driving at 45 and accelerating up to 60. What is going on? It seems like it is linked to acceleration (torque) and possible pressure from turns. CV joint / axle? Wheel bearing? It seems like a tire would be worse as speed increased and more consistent.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2010 - Vibration From Rear Under Acceleration

We purchased a new 2010 Santa Fe Limited in October of last year, and as it stands today, we've put about 19,000km's on the vehicle (about 12,000 miles for my American friends). About 14,000km's in, we started noticing a vibration from the rear under acceleration. When you reached cruising speed (regardless of the speed), the vibration would go away, but would appear under acceleration. What was more alarming was that at slow speeds when making sharp left-hand turns (turning into the driveway, doing a u-turn, pulling into a parking spot, etc), there would occasionally be a loud bang from the rear end. The first time it happened, we thought that we had run over something... actually not but it sure sounded like it!

We took the vehicle into the dealership, and after an inspection they found a rock in one of the rear springs. They removed the rock, applied the TSB to place covers over the springs, test-drove the vehicle, and said the issue was resolved.

The next morning, I was heading out of town to pick up a friend, and experienced a loud bang when I pulled into my buddies driveway. Problem was NOT solved. Called Hyundai again, and made another service appointment. This time with the requirement of having a tech come with me for a test drive.

I was able to reproduce the vibration, which really shocked the tech. At the same time, I was also able to duplicate the loud bang when making sharp turns (I had actually caused it to happen twice when driving around the dealership, but I was alone in the vehicle at the time!), when he concluded that there was probably some binding going on in the drive train. They took the vehicle in, and after looking at it, determined that the coupler in the drive train was defective, and needed to be replaced. They didn't have the part in stock, so they had to order it in; my concern was that the vehicle was unsafe, but they assured me it would be fine to drive until the part came in. I went on a weekend trip with the vehicle, and experienced some pretty severe binding when pulling into parking spots (no bangs, but imagine driving through a lake of molasses) - I had to really give it gas to get it moving into the parking spot - not nice, especially considering what might have happened had it 'unbound' while under throttle...it was certainly not safe, but I survived.

After THREE weeks, the part finally arrived, and was installed yesterday. I'm happy to announce that the vibration has ceased, and I can only assume that the loud bang is gone as well (although I couldn't duplicate that on demand, so I'll never know for sure that it's gone). The Tech did mention that it was a new version of the part, so they just didn't install a new part, it was an upgraded new part.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Vibration At Certain RPM

I am considering the purchase of a 2008 LS. After conducting research I've noticed that there is a common issue around an odd vibration problem at certain rpm and around control arm bushing's with these cars. I've also noticed that there is a common issue around air suspension issues. I based my conclusion around threads that seem to pop up constantly.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Rear Driveline Vibration At All Speeds

On my 07' I bought it home mid AUG. It has been getting much worse to a point there is a rear driveline vibration at all speeds above 40 and up to 70. I used to change intensity whether you are on or off the gas, and would almost vanish if in neutral. However now it is all the time.

I cannot feel any play on the u-joints, the yoke has a little play in the xfer case but is is normal like on most other trucks I have owned, and the pinion flange is nice and tight. Could this be **tight** ujoints or the driveshaft itself? It looks rusty, but there are no dents on it.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Steering Vibration At 75 - 80 MPH

Steering vibration coming right around 75 to 80 MPH? I have balanced my wheels 3 times to rule out that being the issue. Also the tires are in great shape. At speeds below or above it rolls smooth.

Lexus ES 2007-12 :: Vibration / Shaking At 40 - 45 And 70 - 80 Mph

So, I started my journey in getting vibrations out of my car at the dealer (I know, I know, but it's CPO) - had rotors resurfaced, brake job, fluid flushed etc. That worked with pedal pulsing etc.

Now, fast forward 6 months - still have a notable shake at times 40-45, 70-80mph indicated. Took it back to dealer; tires are shot - I figured just a rotate, balance and align would be the cure. I bit the bullet, put on some MXVs and got the car aligned - again, at the dealer. Old tires had the edges fully worn (outside).

Today, after a 200 mile drive, the vibrations are back, and I REALLY don't want to go back to my dealer a third time to resolve this - in addition to not wanting to destroy a brand new set of tires. Who can I turn to to get this under control?

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Vibration While Cruising Between 75 - 78 Mph

I have been noticing some vibration from the rear of the car while cruising between 75-78 mph. I had the tires balanced at Lexus 2 weeks ago and the car feels better but not perfect. I called the service advisor and he said the read out on the balance sheet showed that the tires were balanced perfectly but they will look at it again.

My issue is that I am going to have a set of 22's installed on Monday and I want to make sure nothing is wrong with the car itself because once the aftermarket wheels go on the dealership basically washes their hands of the vibration issues. The tires on the stock wheels are brand new and maybe have 1000 miles on them.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: LS460 - Vibration At 65 - 75 Mph

I took it in to Charles barker Lexus (our dealer here) and they said the water pump was leaking, the front struts were totally blown out, and the 2 belt tensioners had some free play.

Got the dealership I purchased from to pay for the water pump but they would not cover the struts because they said the car pass inspection so they don't believe they are damaged.

Got and independent shop to replace the front struts with kyb 551122 for $400 parts and labor. While they were under the car they said the upper and lower control arms looked newer as if they were replaced recently

Got all wheels balanced at a little small used tire shop small change. The vibration that started at 60mph now starts at 65. Question is are all tire balancers created equally?

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Slight Vibration In The Front End Between 35 To 40 MPH

I just purchase a new 2012 Lexus LS460 L AWD. Between 35 to 40 MPH I feel a slight vibration in the front end of the car. Once I get above 40 MPH the vibration or wobble goes away. Could it be a tire out of balance? Car was bought new, and currently has 1200 miles on the clock.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Vibration Only At Freeway Speeds

I have a weird vibration only at freeway speeds. It's a vibration that lasts 3 seconds but are consistently 2-3 seconds apart. It's a very suttle vibration and can be felt at my feet and slightly on the wheel. My passengers can feel it if I mention it. The key thing about the vibration it's starts and goes away the starts and goes away?

Lexus LS 2007+ :: General Vibration From 75 - 85 Mph On LS460

Our 2007 LS 460 (98k miles) drives like a dream except from about 75-85 mph we have a general vibration. Its most evident in the steering wheel but everything in the car has a general vibration. It may have been there for a few months now, but I felt it when I drove it yesterday. There is absolutely no vibration below 75 and none above 85 (I was cruising at 90 mph and the car was solid). I tried to do some investigating:

Tires: Appear to be fine in regards to wear and the tire pressure is about the same in all of them in the mid 30 s. Alignment is fine and the car does not pull to any side.

Brakes: New brake pads about 10k miles ago at dealership and work absolutely fine.

Transmission / engine (I hope not): The car is 7th gear at that speed but it usually is anytime above 50 mph so its quite odd. We don't lose power and no lights are set off.

Body work / damage: doesn't appear to be anything on the front or sides of the car that cause this.

Lexus ES 2007-12 :: Vibration While In Park And Without AC Power On

I have a 2008 es350 with 106k miles and I've been trying to fix vibration issue for a few months now. The car vibrates while in park with and without the AC power on, but its worse with the AC on. The vibration was felt in the sterring wheel and wasnt that bad just enough to be annoying. So I researched and did a few thing such as spark plugs change, mass air flow cleaning, new air filter, a few bottles of fuel injection cleaner but nothing improved the vibrations. In fact I think it got worse. So after looking online I ran across a post about vibrations and motor mounts. This is the post I found. [URL] ....

"Most likely, one of the engine mounts are 'torqued'. You can try and neutralize the mounts. Loosen the through bolts of all mounts several (4-5) turns. Then start the car, and drive back and forth several feet (using quick taps on the gas and not just idling) over and over, and let it rest at idle a few seconds before turning off the engine. Now tighten all mounts being careful not to rock the motor, and don't pry or push anything to reach the bolts! (This is where swivels co*me in handy)"

I went ahead and did it on my es and wife's 2010 rx350. It took about 30-40 minutes but I took several breaks. Here are a few pic these are from the RX but the process is almost the same ones.

Top of engine bay on the passanger side this mount is easy youll need a 14 mm wrench. I noticed the bolts here where very tight when i loosened them but when re tightened the bolts it when in very easily.

This the drivers side you'll need a 19 mm wrench. Just turn the wheel all the way to the right to get access.

This one is right behind the radiator in the front middle of the engine. Its a17 mm

This is on the passenger side behind the wheel. It just like the one on the drivers side. Its a 19mm

This one I believe is only on the rx but I didn't look on the es. I could not get to the through bolt so i just loosen the two 17mm bolts.

Once all of the bolts were lose I turned on the car and moved/drove it 2-4 feet in drive several time in the drive way. Then I stepped on the brake pedal hard while in drive and gave some gas nothing crazy maybe up to 3k rpm and for second or 2. I did the same in reverse. After that I put it in drive and felt for vibrations if I still felt something i would repeat until the vibrations stopped. Once they stopped I didn't put the car in park, I turn off the car while in drive and engaged the emergency brake. At this point i re-torqued all the bolts without move anything. Now both the RX and ES and very smooth while stopped while in drive. This a free fix and it worked great.

Lexus ES 2007-12 :: Steering Vibration On 57 To 65 Speed

About month ago I found used lexues es 350, 2008 in one of the dealership and bought it for my daughter . I test drive the car and found the vibration steering on speed 57_65 or .not like real lexues which is smooth. Any way I thought with alignment would be fix. But no luck.

I found another Lexues repair. They said I need to change [B]transmission and motor mount I bought it and after replace same as before.

Some other one told me could be Torque converter. This is really big problem and I can't let her drive the car.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: 2009 - Vibration In Seat

I recently purchased a CPO 2009 LS460. There was a vibration in my seat at 70 mph that I asked them to fix (tire balance). They have done it 3 times now, including road force balance, and the vibration is still there at 70 mph. I assume that it must not be the tires since they have done it 3 times. What else could it be? Should I take it to a tire store (is Lexus as good as tire stores at fixing problems like this)?

Lexus ES 2007-12 :: Slight Vibration Between 110-130kph After New Tires

I recently purchased a 2009 es in good condition, the tires were quite old and loud and the car pulled to one side. I purchased some primacy's and they are great, however the pulling/poor alignment was still there, I then took it back to the dealership and they rotated the tires which actually worked with the pulling but then there was a slight vibration from about 100-130, by 140 it's gone, but i seldom drive that fast.... I then had the tires re-balanced and the alignment done again, the vibration perhaps lessened but i can still feel it...
