Lexus LS 2007+ :: LS460 - Hesitation / Lack Of Power When Accelerating From A Stop

I have a 2007 LS 460 with about 50,000 miles. Some 18 months ago, at about 35,000 miles, right after a service, I began to experience hesitation/lack of power when accelerating from a stop. Lexus fixed this by doing a software update to the transmission.

All was well till last month, when again right after a service, the car hesitated and totally lacked power , most noticeable from a rolling stop. Revs would very gradually climb to 5,000, with foot flat on accelerator, yet car barely moving. Once speed built up to highway speeds, car reacted normally. Took it back to Park Place Lexus who held the car for 10 days and did a major job changing the cylinder head, I think per L-SB-0033-08.

A month later, the hesitation/lack of power is even worse then before! I suspect the issue is the transmission, and the big surgery on the engine done last month was not required. After nearly being hit trying to merge with traffic today, the vehicle is back at the dealership, and I took their head tech for a drive. He experienced the problem, but did not venture a solution. He told me they take instructions on what to do directly from Lexus.

Lexus ES 2007-12 :: Hesitation On Accelerating - Transmission Firmware?

I have sent my 2008 ES350, 47K to a dealer since it has a bit hesitation on accelerating; RPM goes upto 3K easily to get engaged to next one.

The dealer told me that no hardware problem but they did update a tranny firmware. They added that it may work right away or work after 3~4 fuelings.

What would be next step?

Lexus SC430 :: 2002 - Intermittent Hesitation Or Stumble / Momentary Power Loss

When I take off from a start it will intermittently stumble or hesitate, seems to be around 1500 rpm. have also noted it at higher speed while cruising. its more like a momentary power cut than a miss fire.

So far I have done the following

new fuel filters
clean MAF
new PCV valve
new spark plugs
check all hoses and plugs etc
injector clean
checked techstream for codes. there is one for a heated O2 sensor but dont think thats it.

2002. SC430

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2010 - Clunk When Accelerating And Loss Of Power

My wife has had her 2010 3.5 Santa Fe since new. Over the past year it's been having a clunk develop when accelerating, happening a few times from a start until highway speed. The clunks almost feel as if one is driving over bumps - that's what I thought at first. The power doesn't seem to be there anymore either. I have been driving her vehicle the past three years and it was fine when I first started driving it. But the past couple years I first noticed a problem and it seems it is getting progressively worse. My wife now notices it quite a bit too.

Ford :: 2007 - While Accelerating Loss Power And Shaking At Stop - Won't Fire Again?

I have a 2007 Ford Fusion 4.0L AWD. One day I went to pass a slower car and accelerated rapidly, but the car responded with loss of power and shook to a stop and would not re fire. I took it to the dealership and they said two cylinders were not firing and a fuse was blown. I looked on the internet and some people said their coils go bad or plug wires. I asked the dealership if that was the cause and they said absolutely not, but it's the ECM. They replaced the ECM and 2 days later my CEL came on and I took it back to the dealership and they told me my catalytic converter was bad and I could drive it until I had the money to replace it. Then a couple days go by and I was passing a tractor on the highway, I slowed down to 45 mph to make the pass and as I began to accelerated I felt a thunk, then about a mile later it started cutting out and shaking. This time it would re fire but idle rough. I tried on/off 3 or 4 times then it idled o.k. I then took it back to the dealership and this time they said it's all 6 coils.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Loss Of Power When Turn On AC

I'm not sure whether it's real or even possible. Starting this summer, when it's hot and I turn on AC, I feel loss of power from the engine. When need for speed, it's slow to accelerate. The engine is less powerful than when it's cool and no AC running. Is this possible? It's 2010 V6 AWD.

Camry :: 2007 LE Feels Like It Is Going To Die / Hesitation When Accelerating

I have a 07 Camry LE. I recently replaced the belt tensioner and belt. A couple, maybe three weeks later its having symptoms of hesitation when accelerating and when at a stop. The rpm's are stable but seem to dip below its operating specification, causing the car to come to a wobble felt just like when you're in too low a gear when driving a standard vehicle. I suspect it may be air related but that's just a guess. I have not looked under the hood yet since its dark out and would like to get some feedback on this problem. Another probable cause I suspect is the fuel filter. The car has 113,000 miles and i doubt its ever been changed (I am the second owner).

Before I changed the tensioner I could be a stop and then suddenly press the accelerator to avoid oncoming traffic. The car will stall and die sometimes. It's has only done this to me on two occasions. Both at the same location. Rapid acceleration at this point was on an incline. If it matters.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Brief Loss Of Power And A Beep

Over the past few days driving my ls460 I've had a niggling feeling that something isn't quite right. The power delivery seems a bit inconsistent and although the engine sounds fine, I can feel something a bit 'rough' through the pedal.

At first I put it down to my imagination, but a few minutes ago I was driving along at a steady 40 and for a brief second the engine power cut right down and something flashed up on the screen along with a beep.

It happened so quick I couldn't have read it even if I were staring at the screen.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Loss Of Power On Acceleration - 2009 LS460

2009 LS460 I have had my car at the dealer a few times for loss of power on acceleration. The last visit which lasted three weeks finally gave a diagnoses. The problem was confirmed by the dealer and the factory reps, a knock sensor picks up a signal that retards the timing resulting in no power, I was nearly run over by a semi the last time it happened. They tried to give me my car back on 7/24/14 with the knowledge that the problem is not fixable at this time but I should drive the car and they will tell me when there is a fix. I left the car at the dealer. I was also told that they had a few others with the same problem that could not be fixed.

Lexus ES 2013+ :: Hesitation When Accelerating From Dead Stop

Our 2015 es350 with 2,500 miles hesitates when accelerating from a dead stop, such as from a stop light. We are told this is to be expected with this vehicle. The dealership test-drove the car and say there's no problem. But this hesitation is unlike any other car we've experienced.

Passat (B5) :: Loss Of Power / Hesitation During Acceleration

My 2001 VW Passat 1.8T manual transmission is experiencing loss of power/hesitation during acceleration. Occasionally the check engine light will blink for about 10 seconds during this time. My valve cover gasket blew about 7 months ago. I had it replaced along with 2 ignition coils. Since then I have had replaced the other 2 coils and spark plugs because of this recurring problem. I have also replace the mass airflow sensor for the second time. The diagnostic check continually shows misfires in different cylinders for which I again tried replacing the coils. I have also received the codes for "fuel mixture too lean" as well as for too rich. What could be causing this?

Sonata NF (2006-10) :: 2007 - Severe Hesitation / Car Almost Quits On Accelerating From A Stopped Position

I purchased a 2007 Sonata with the 3.3L about six months ago. I really like the car, it has a lot of good features and lots of power; however, I am starting to have problems with the car. On accelerating from a stopped position the car almost quits (hesitates severely) and then picks up and goes on normally. Also, between 40 and 50 mph the car starts to jerk pretty hard for a few seconds and then it straightens out and runs normally again; it will do this repeatedly if it is kept between 40 and 50 mph.

When this first started happening the CEL would come on randomly and stay on for a day or two and then go off. While the CEL was on I took it to Autozone and had them pull the code, they said it was the crankshaft position sensor. Well based on the symptoms the diagnosis made sense. I replaced the sensor and the car seemed to be running normally on the 30 minute test drive. The next day my wife drove to work and she said the same symptoms had come back. It has been several weeks since I replaced the sensor and the CEL has not come back on. I have seen several postings about the spark plugs and wires and that is my next step. BTW the car has 94k miles.

Lexus LS 2007+ :: Engine Dies / Intermittent Electrical Loss And Then Power Resumes

I have a 2007 LS460 L. It has recently started losing electrical power in fraction of a second intervals. The map data sometimes works or displays an error on the screen. The radio has been functioning but now is also starting to flash off intermittently. Now when this happens it feels like the engine dies and ALL electrical is off and then power resumes. This affects steering, engine power and brakes. My wife drives this car and loved it until now.

C/K :: 92 K1500 Hesitation / Power Loss When Engine Warm Up

I have a 1992 k1500 5.0L. The pickup seems to run good, or at least better when it's cold and engine isn't to operating temp. But once it reaches temp it loses a noticeable amount of power, as well as has a "dead spot" in throttle response. From about 1/2 to 3/4 it's like nothing happens you push the pedal but no response. Only at about 3/4 once it down shifts then you get an increase in speed. So now back to power loss. It is bad enough that just to maintain a highway speed of 60mph it will downshift even on very small hills and on flat ground the pedal is about 3/4 of the way to the floor.

Some history: It has a rebuilt transmission in it with a 2000 rpm stall converter instead of stock(so two questions one when I re installed the kick down cable could I have adjusted it wrong and could this cause my issue, and what's the proper way to adjust? Second could the 2000 rpm stall converter cause any issues?)

It has a new distributor, cap, rotor, along with plugs and wires. I recently installed: knock sensor, map sensor, coolant temperature control sensor, tps sensor, egr valve, pcv valve, ecm, rebuilt the throttle body, as well as a few other things I'm probably forgetting.

I suspect the engine is running rich because the exhaust tail pipe has a lot of soot(it has no cat was that way when I bought it but it has way more soot than it should even with no cat.) I just checked fuel pressure and it's right at 11 to 12 psi. I haven't pulled plugs yet to confirm rich condition, but last time I changed them they were all black as coal.

Celica :: ST184R / 5SFE - Hesitation And Loss Of Power

Once again my Celica is having a similar issue. Originally over 6 months ago i had an issue with my MAP Sensor which was causing extreme hesitation issues and the car was basically not safe to drive in traffic.

The issue that is now occurring is that i can start my car fine and drive around on flat normal roads with no issues but ive noticed once i go up a steep or decent hill/driveway the car will start to bog down around 1500-2100 RPM.

Once it starts to play up it continues to do so even on flat roads.

Have Checked:
- MAP Sensor - OK
- Distributor - OK
- Leads - Old but still ok, plan to replace later.
- Spark Plugs - Ok
- Spark Plug Wells - They had oil in them few weeks ago, cleaned out and hasent returned.
- Need to replace Valve cover gasket to fix this i believe.
- Fuel is ok.

Golf V R32 :: Hesitation And Loss Of Power Suddenly While Driving

I drove my car to work today and no problems. Tonight my wife and I took the car out to go to dinner and intermitantly there and back my car is hesitating as we drive along. I thought it was odd at first then my wife asked if I was kidding around. I told her its not me.

It's as if the car is driving then all of a sudden its like a loss of power or as if the limiter kicks in and starved the engine of gas and then a second later it jerks back to life and keeps going.

If it does this tomorrow its going to the dealer. It is not throwing any warning lights and I have 3/4 tank of gas so its not that.

I have changed the spark plugs.
I have added injector cleaner and fuel treatment to the fuel.
I have cleaned the air filter and air filter compartment.
