Toyota Matrix :: 2005 - Radio Control Knob Does Not Change The Volume
I have a 2005 Toyota Matrix. The radio volume control knob does not change the volume. The volume is just constantly stuck at a set volume (luckily a reasonably soft one). I pulled the knob plastic cap off and sprayed some contact cleaner in there but nothing changed. What caused this problem and what I can try? I have taken the radio out and opened it (changed led bulbs) before so I feel comfortable doing that and tinkering around.

I have a 2010 Prius and I noticed for the first time today that the volume control knob stopped responding when I twisted it. I turned off the radio off then back on and it appeared to be working again.
My car has about 41,000 miles on it so I'm not sure if the warranty is still applicable.

Is there a possibility of the radio itself overheating causing this issue. I experienced this the other day, was driving around and the volume control on the radio no longer worked. Could turn it off and all other functions worked but the volume could only be changed from the tracer buttons on the steering wheel. Shutting the car off and back on worked but for how long? Seems that this should be a recall since several owners have experienced this issue with the jbl stereo.

Strangely, after my battery died and the car was jump-started the volume control on the steering wheel is not working correctly. When I press the volume up switch, the sound actually decreases, and the volume down button does not function. The manual volume control on the radio works fine.

I'm slowly reading through the ES-350 manual, picking and choosing parts to read. There are several 'Personalized Preferences' that I've noted down and will have addressed at my 1st month service.
I noticed on pg. 21 of the manual that there are settings to set and cancel the door-locking/unlocking functions. These functions are also mentioned in the 'Personalized Preferences' section, so there is overlap here (on paper anyways).
Anyways I tried a couple of times to follow the instructions on pg. 21 to disable the door locking and unlocking when the car is placed in Park and Neutral.
It didn't work for me. The instructions aren't all that clear to me, nor of what they are supposed to accomplish. I'd like to not have the doors lock when I place the shift out of Park and not have the doors unlock when I place the shift into Park.

Honda Accord Special Edition - 72,000 mi.,4 cyl. auto - When I turn the control knob on to use fan or is it called the blower for A/C or heater nothing comes on. When I turn the control knob on with the cold motor not running and A/C button engaged (green light on) I hear the two fans under the hood come on for about 10 seconds and then shut off. Not sure if that is normal or it indicates something. I checked some of the fuses under the hood and under the dash. Could not find any that were bad.

So my car used to 'chirp' loudly when I locked it. Didn't mess with any settings, and now it 'chirps' but its very quiet, almost unnoticeable. As far as I know there is no way to adjust this, maybe my 'chirper' is broken?

When I start my car the radio has no sound and the volume knob does not respond. I need to switch to another function in order to restore sound... ie, if it is on radio I need to switch to AUX. I have a video adapter installed, but it has always worked fine. This seemed to just start happening out of the blue.

I have a 2004 Phaeton that the main volume knob has broken on. The dealer tells me that the only way that they can provide a replacement is with the whole unit (nav screen and all) at a cost of over $2000. It seems to me that this part MUST be available somewhere for $20 or so.

I used to have other car that used to make a loud beep upon locking. My prius 2010 III is bit nimble and social. It blinks and makes a little chirp. I would rather need a loud beep so to locate and ensure my car is locked especially in noisy environments.

2010 Passat wagon. The locking horn chirp on the Passat is way too loud. I know I can turn it off, but I was wondering, if can change horn to a chirp instead. (I think this locking horn is different from the actual horn on the car, but I'm not positive) My Touareg chirp has more of a bird chirp sound which is much more subtle that the fog horn style of the Passat. If I lock the Passat late at night it wakes up everyone in the house. Also, how do you access the horn, it sounds like it is inside the passenger front fender.

I just purchased a used 2016 Hyundai Sonata SE. Inspected the car from top to bottom upon purchasing but failed to check one thing. I have discovered the horn does not chirp upon locking (pressing fob lock button twice). The system panel shows the car has this feature and the box is checked to do so. The doors do lock and the lights do blink. The panic button when pressed on the fob also makes no sound. Again, the lights blink on the car itself when the panic button is pressed. I have researched and have came up empty.
I can not seem to locate the hood switch or sensor on the car where older models seem to be. Dealer says it is in the latch on 2016's but I am uncertain this is correct as I called several dealers and got different answers each time. They all want me to bring the vehicle in but run the risk it is not covered under warranty depending on the issue. Car has 39K miles. Horn works fine. Carfax was clean so supposedly accident free. I'm focused on the hood switch because most of my research pointed in this direction.

My truck has fairly recently, for about a year, had a chirp noise after being driven empty for a couple hours or after towing heavy for as little as a half hour. it doesn't chirp until it has been at operating temperature for a little while and it will come and go. The chirp follows the RPM and when I have it in T/H mode it will go away completely while I'm coasting.
I have all 8 new injectors in the last 2 months (replaced for other reasons), I originally thought it was related to them. The chirp is coming from the passenger side of the engine and the best I can tell is it near the front of the engine. I haven't used a listening stick or a scope or anything to try to pinpoint the exact location.
My fear is that it's lifter(s) going out. Is there any way to see the cam/lifters without taking the heads off? I've changed my oil at least 3 times since the chirping started and I never see metal or glitter on the plug or filter or on the drain pan.
Gen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Volume Knob Didn't Work / Column Is Sheared Off
When I got my Prius, the volume knob didn't work, and I thought I could live with it. Steering wheel controls work fine except when I'm turning the wheel, then I have to chase the buttons. I really want the volume knob to function properly.
The post that inserts into the head unit volume receiving column is sheared off and stuck in there. I tried super-gluing it back together, but that didn't give me the slight bumpy sensation when I turned it. I thought it would at least depress, but not when it was superglued together. It won't pop in and out when I press on it when it was glued.
Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Navi Screen Opens When Volume Knob Is Turned
I have a 2011 Prius Four with JBL/navi package. When I go to turn the volume knob up or down the navi screen pops open as if I were going to eject or insert a cd. Only sometimes will it close back up when I press the eject/close button otherwise I have to twist the volume knob back and fourth until it randomly closes. THEN, when I set FM/AM station presets, power off the car, power car back on, the screen shows "loading" and everything resets except for the Bluetooth phone settings. Is there any firmware update I need to install via usb?
