Lexus GS 2013+ :: F-Sport Steering Wheel Pulls To Side On Bumpy Roads?
I'm noticing my 2013 F-Sport seems to veer to the side on bumpy roads. It's totally straight on flat roads, but I notice it when I'm about to change into the left lane.
It's got 31k miles and has Bridgestone tires.
Lexus IS 2014+ :: Steering Wheel More Responsive In Sport Mode
Recently I started driving on eco mode to have the smoothest ride/acceleration. However, yesterday I wanted to get my dose of sport mode and WOT, so I switched to sport mode and stepped on the gas and during a small curve I felt the car steering is stiffer than usual, so I thought it could be due to speed. After that I reduced my speed and tried switching between sport and eco back to back and the sport mode steering actually is stiffer and more responsive! . I was surprised because my car is not the F sport, it is the normal is350 with tech package, and Lexus didn't mention this when describing the sport mode.

A co-worker of mine got a recent 300h and has had some intermittent recurrences of the following issue when powering down the car. Normally, the tilt wheel tilts up and driver's seat slides back for you to exit the car easily. It's happened about 5 times during very cold weather where the motion of both steering and seat would stop partially along the way, not completing the cycle.

I can't drive my 2013 ES300h straight (on a straight & level road) with out turning the steering wheel to the right, then to the left (over & over again) . To be clear, I do not have to turn the wheel much at all but it has to be turned to keep it straight. I had Lexus do a 4 wheel alignment yesterday and it did not work at all. Is this normal ?

When you turn off the engine the steering wheel and seats will retract to allow more space for you to exit the car. Side mirrors will fold up. Motion happens in reverse when you sit in the car and start the engine.
Is there a way for me to turn off these auto features to save their motor life?
Lexus GS 2013+ :: Steering Wheel Won't Lock In Centered Position
Well, up until a week ago, I had a 2013 GS F sport, and I believe that the steering wheel on that car was able to lock in a perfectly centered position when parked and turning the vehicle off (and then opening the door and moving the wheel slightly so that it clicked).
However, I just picked up a 2015 F sport last week and am finding that its steering wheel will only click into its locked position at about 10-15 degrees to the left or right of center (a little before the 11 or 1 o'clock positions, respectively). It does this, despite the fact that I park the car and open the door while the steering wheel is perfectly centered. I must then turn it those extra degrees before it clicks and it then stays off-center.
Shouldn't the steering wheel on my new car be able to lock on the center position? Or am I just imagining that my 2013 was able to do this? The steering itself seems to be fine, but just want to make sure nothing is wrong here.

My son sent me a text stating "mom is driving with the steering wheel at 90 degrees to the left!". I had to get this repaired ASAP. I thought maybe a tie rod went bad and maybe went further. Steering had been off slightly to left prior.
Firestone said that when they went to check alignment, they found that the strut tower was gone. I knew it had to be on the right side. The passenger strut tower rusted through at the mid rear, and broke the spot welds, and was not attached at most of its circumference. Fortunately, the body shop that repaired our van from a prior damage.(hit at stoplight). I replaced the struts about a year or two ago with quick struts. Did not even think of checking for this rusting issue.

How to turn this off? I managed to turn off the driver's side auto-slider but can't figure out how to turn off the steering wheel portion. I'm not a big fan of the entry/exit assist. I kind of feel that all that movement will wear out the motor over time. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid.
View 7 RepliesLexus GS 2013+ :: Steering Wheel Sensitivity Very Soft In Normal Mode On Freeway
Steering wheel will turn about 35 degrees left or right when one side of the street is uneven and you take your hands off the wheel ? I guess I haven't noticed it much in these 3 months because I am always in Sport mode, which stiffens the wheels as we all know, but today as i was driving in Normal, I was on a street that kind of tapered to the right on an approx. 5 degree angle and the wheel turn itself pretty dramatically. I corrected my path and it would shoot right soon as i took my hand off the wheel. Its definitely not an alignment issue because its straight like an arrow. And all tires have 33 psi cold. Then i noticed again on the freeway, i know its uneven pavement but the amount the wheel turns is pretty substantial.
Also, when you make a 90 degree turn the steering wheel doesn't really retract itself back too good, you kind of have guide it back. But putting it in Sport mode fixes all that. Besides that i love the steering, you can take turns at ridiculous speeds (not that i do ) and it eats the the turn right up, no problem, and you dont even break a sweat. The car is phenomenally well balanced. Love the GS

Lexus ES 2013+ :: Rattle On Driver Side Pillar And Seat Belt / Steering Wheel Clicking
Loving my Black on black ES350 so far with 4000 miles, bought July!
Having a very annoying rattle/creaking near the seat belt pillar on the driver's side? This occurs continously even on smooth highway roads. I will ask them to check it out at the 5k service.
Also, my steering wheel slightly "clicks" when turning the steering wheel 1 full turn to the right. It doesn't do it on the left side, and doesn't seem right. No turn signals or anything is on. Just seems flimsy with all these noises!

Now this power steering is bugging me but i cant locate the reservoir.
View 8 RepliesLexus GS 2013+ :: 4GS F Sport Whine That Goes Up And Down With RPMs
I have a 4GS F Sport, about 2 months old. For the past few weeks, I've been hearing a whine that goes up and down with the RPMs. It almost sounds like the noise you would hear if you didn't ground an aftermarket radio correctly. Not sure if it was there when I drove it/bought it - I think I would have noticed it, but it seems to be getting louder, about as loud as the sound of the engine (unless I'm really getting on it and the resonator kicks in).
I have a buddy with the exact same car (different color, bought it a couple of weeks after I did) and the whine on his sounds much quieter - still there, just quieter. I've spoken to the dealer twice and have ridden with a tech. We drove mine and a GS Luxury. In the Luxury Edition you hear it but it is quieter, which he says is added insulation (first time I'd heard of any difference like that between the two). The tech said it is likely the alternator which is triple wound to handle all of the electrical requirements and it's just the way the car is.
Lexus GS 2013+ :: F Sport AWD Tends To Wander On City Streets
I'm the new owner of a '13 F Sport AWD, and have noticed that the car tends to wander a little on city streets. If I drive over obvious truck ruts, the car will pull. I've never owned a car with wide tires, and some of the research I've done indicates the culprit might be just that. The car has 55,000 miles, so I'm confident it's not worn suspension components. In fact, according to the Lexus owners website, the previous owner complained of this and the dealer drove it and found nothing wrong. The car is also on what I believe are the original Bridgestone tires, now cupping a little (noisy) and at 3-4/32nds. New P7's have been ordered in the 245 size, which might make the wandering more noticeable.
