Lexus LS 2007+ :: Broken Rear Strut On 2009 LS460

I have a broken rear strut on my 2009 LS 460 with 27000 miles. First noticed it about 25000 but dealer said it was only the cold weather and all was fine. I had a mechanic friend ride with me and he said I had a broken part in the rear suspension. Back to the dealer and this time they test drove it and diagnosed the broken rear strut. The tech told me that they had recently seen several LS 460's with the same problem. The broken strut causes handling problems and I am reluctant to drive at highway speeds.

The dealer (and all the other dealers I called) said that there are no parts available for the repair and one told me that the last strut had to be brought from Japan.

Jetta - Volkswagen :: 2002 - Broken Sway Bar Links

My mechanic says I need to replace both front sway bar links on my 2002 Jetta....I am, of course, hesitant to do it at this price. How critical is it to replace? Can I get junk yard sway bars to make it cheaper? And can I do it myself (have no experience fixing anything....

Honda - Cr-v :: Sound From Rear Right Of Vehicle - Faulty / Broken Strut

I have a 2010 CRV with approximately 10k miles. This is my wife's car primarily.

Recently I have started to hear a sound from the rear right of the vehicle. Its a 'thud' each time teh vehicle passes over a pothole. I'm guessing it has something to do with the strut/strut mount.

I bought the car new last year so its under the 3yr/36kmile warranty. Is thsi covered under the warrantly?

Camry :: 2005 - Change Front Sway Bar Links?

I want to change the front sway bar links on a 2005 Camry that has been driven in central New York (ice, salt, corrosion) for 10 years. There is definite wiggle and noise. I recently replaced the ball joints. That was difficult. How difficult is it to remove the sway bar links? Looks like a 5MM or so allen wrench is supposed to hold the ball joint type link to allow 18MM nut to be removed. A 5MM allen wrench is about 4 inches long and skinny. An 18MM wrench is about 12 inches long and beefy. I am skeptical about breaking the nut loose.

Will I need to heat the nut? If yes, how? With a simple propane torch? If yes, how does that work? Apply heat and wait for a sound that indicates the rust has broken? Apply heat for a time, try to hold with the allen wrench and try to undo the nut? Keep trying that again and again until it works? This would be after multiple rust busting spraying to make this easier. I used a 4 inch grinder to grind the nuts off the ball joints to remove them (I know how that sounds, but that is what I did). Thoughts about that for the sway bar links? I am a bolt turner who can stand some aggravation.

Cadillac - Deville :: Slight Groan When Parking Vehicle Or Turning Into Driveway - Broken Strut Mount?

I have a 1999 cadillac Deville that my mechanic says needs a new front strut mount. My symptoms are mostly in cold weather a very slight groan when parking the vehicle or turning into my driveway. It seems like it happens when the steering wheel is on its return back to center and it can be felt slightly in the wheel and heard as the sound a zip tie makes when pulled together with a slight groan. The car has been recently aligned and rides pretty good but sometimes can be a little noisy over bumps.

Prius (Gen 3) :: Removing Tanabe (strut Tower) Brace To Change Fuses?

I have given this scenario a careful study and developed a few tools and techniques for access to the fuse box cover on a Gen III Prius with a Tanabe strut tower brace installed.

1. The left hand bracket can be removed and reinstalled without removing the wipers, wiper motor and the two splash pans.

2. A 14mm offset custom made long box wrench or "ring spanner," a long flat blade screw driver and an extension magnet is needed to remover and install the bracket nuts.

There is enough space, using a long offset box wrench to loosen and tighten the 14mm flange nuts holding the bracket.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2005 - Alignment Required With Strut Change?

I have a 2005 F-150 4x2 with 4.2L mojo. If I change the struts, is an alignment required due to slight changes in the top mount location? I plan on having it aligned but timing wise I may not be able to get it all done at the same time.

Lexus GS 2006-11 :: Tray Inside Center Console Is Broken

One of the brackets that connects the tray inside the center console is broken. I wanted to order the part but I only see the inside tray available to buy, not the brackets. I was wondering if I ordered the tray, will the brackets come with it? I don't want to order the tray and then it turns out no brackets, then I'll be stuck with an extra tray. The closest part number I see on Sewell is Part # 58801E.

Lexus GS 2006-11 :: 2007 GS350 - Low Oil Warning When Oil Change Is Not Due

My 07 GS350 for the second time, gave me a low oil warning light. the car has 114k and had the cam TSB work done. The first time I had low oil was about 2,300 miles ago when my alternator started burning. Got that replaced along with a oil change, brakes, coolant flush and belt change (i know i know I got raped by the dealer). Last night driving to the gas station with car almost on E the low oil warning came on again..I always have them put 5W-30 synthetic but during my last oil change they put in 5w-20. I don't think that this would do anything however. Not due for an oil change. I spent about $1200 on the car in January to fix the previously mentioned issues. I love my GS and do not want to get rid of her. What are my options? What could be wrong?

It is the little handle that allows me to change the direction of the air coming out from the cabin vents. Two of those little handles have fell off recently and I can no longer move around the direction of the air flow unless I stick a pen or something in there.

What is the name of this part ?
