Prius (Gen 2) :: 2008 - Opening Trunk And Hatchback Handle Broken
Went to open my trunk today with a normal amount of force and this happened. I can push it back into place but every time I try to open it again it does this. It's still attached on the lefthand side.

When it rains or snows, the floor only of my 86 Civic Si hatchback ends up soaked, sometimes standing water. There is no visible leak anywhere, no water leaking in anywhere obvious. It's just the floor, the water seems to come up from beneath the carpet. Replaced windshield, didn't work. The car is otherwise in great shape, I bought in new in 1986.

There they recommended for me to replace the front shocks strut assembly--not quite remembering the reason but they told me that it needs to get done. I have a 2007 Honda Civic 2 dr. A couple years ago the manufacturer cell phone charger was blown in a few days of use with the cigarette lighter. The manufacturer replacement was next blown, and then a cheap off-brand was blown. Last fall, turning on the rear defroster began causing static interference on the FM stations. Several months later, I noticed that use of the cigarette lighter as a cell phone charger also caused radio static.
Next week, the rear windshield will be removed and replaced during a body repair. Should I ask for a replacement windshield, or just for attention to the connection with the electric? What else can be done about either of these causes of FM static?
Honda - Cr-v :: 2001 - Interior Dome Light Won't Come On While Opening The Door
Have a problem with a couple electric items in my 2001 Honda CR-V. The interior dome light no longer comes on when I open any of the doors. HOWEVER, when I turn the key off, the dome light DOES come on, stays on for a few seconds or until I open any door. What causes this? Fuse? Circuit board? Short in one of the door sensors?This seemed to have started sometimes after I got it back from a body shop from a minor collision that affected the sheet metal only, did not require major mechanical fixing. The clock in the center of the dash went out... maybe at the same time, perhaps just similar time. Have not been able to confirm if it works when removed from the car.

All of my electric door locks failed over the last 3 months. Rear doors first, then passenger front, then, Drivers front and tailgate. All work manually. What would cause this type of cascading failure? Honda dealer said all actuators must be replaced. Another mechanic said the front drivers side controls all doors and that unit must be replace.

This might sound crazy but I was wondering if the bumper of the Elantra GT is compatible with the Elantra GL. I own an Elantra GL 2013 but I think the bumper of the GT is perfect and so I thought maybe I could install the GT bumper on my GL. I've got a prius 2010, how do I lock the car with one of the doors (or hatchback) still open? The car just beeps at you until you close a door... And then it stops beeping, but doesn't lock. I find this to be exceedingly annoying, I'm surprised I couldn't find more than 1 other thread complaining about it. I find it annoying in two common situations:
a) I plan on locking the car with the fob, filling both of my hands full of things and pushing the door shut with my butt. I have no free hands left to find the fob in my pocket and lock the door, or walk around to the driver's side of the car to touch the lock sensor.
b) A passenger is dawdling getting all their stuff ready and plans to catch up with me in 30 seconds. I need the lock the car before I walk away.
Prius Plug-in 2012-15 :: Beeping While Driving With Hatchback Open?
I bought carpet and loaded it into the PIP, needing to strap down the hatchback with the carpet sticking out.
As soon as I drove off both turn signals started flashing and a tone beeping.
The flashers stopped after a minute, but the beeping sounded all the way home.Very Annoying.

So I'm getting ready to do some repairs on my Yaris (almost 200k miles, clutch went out recently, have a kit on order). Driving a manual without a tachometer us dynb, so I've been looking into third party tachs or replacing the stock one with a different cluster that includes one.

I don't know if this would be a drop in replacement on the hatchback or not though. 07 hatch replace your panel with an OEM from another model that includes the tach?

My 2004 Ford Focus Hatchback has 152,000 miles on it. At the end of last year the engine started dying/stalling as soon as I started it - I would have to keep my foot on the gas to keep the engine going. I took it to the dealer and they put in a WHOLE NEW THROTTLE BODY. They also told me I needed a new battery and updated the car's software. Total $700. About a week to 10 days later, the car started doing the dying out after starting thing again - intermittently - didn't matter if the engine was hot or cold, fuel high or low, weather rainy, cold or clear and warm.
This morning I worked for 20 minutes to keep the engine going, made sure the engine was warm, and it STILL stalled out. I called in for a tow, called the dealer and said I'd be coming in, went back out to the car ... and it started right up without stalling. Drove it to the dealer and they've now told me they can't find anything at all wrong with the car. They are keeping it overnight to see if they can duplicate the stalling tomorrow morning. Any thoughts? The new throttle body cost me about $500 in December. (Don't know if it matters, but the defroster fan was super loud this morning, but once the engine was able to idle, the loudness disappeared ...). It's been a great car, but maybe it's time to start looking.
Accent MC (2006-11) :: Hatchback Center Stop Light Is Flickering
My friend has a 2007 Hyundai Accent. I don't have any picture so I'll try to explain as best as I can. He has a problem with the braking light that is on the spoiler (it's an hatchback). All lights are very dim and flickering while the two bulbs on the right are solid. I believe the light assembly is dying and need to be replaced with new bulbs. The problem I have is I am not able to get to the assembly. I have the manual shop but it doesn't include instructions for the hatchback version.
There's a few black bolts/screws on the trunk lid. I removed those, but the spoiler doesn't want to move at all. I see 3 plastic trim that are beige. I believe there's more screws behind those. I don't know where the plastic holder are for the trim so I didn't try to remove them (I don't want to brake them!!). See the attached picture with the red circle for the black screws I am talking about.
Accent MC (2006-11) :: Hatchback Trunk Door Knob Failure
I have a 08 Accent Hatchback. The trunk door knob(the black plastic hinge thing which you pull to open the trunk, not sure if I call it right) does not reset. I mean after pulling it to open the trunk, it's stuck instead of going back. I need to press it to original position, so the trunk door can be locked. I can see a rusty spring behind the black piece of plastic. Not sure where is the problem(maybe the spring?). How can I fix it.

I have a 2004 Malibu Maxx hatchback. It has been a solid car since we rolled it out of the showroom. Recently, I noticed when I raise the adjustable driver's seat after my petite wife has driven the car, the seat tilts to the right. After a survey of the power seat mechanics I found a broken front rail. It appears as if the end of the rail where it connects to the hinge is being peeled back as if I were removing the wraper of a crayon. I have only found one other post on the internet. Is this is a common problem?
