Grand AM :: Service Vehicle Soon Light Come On - Exterior Lights Not Flash When Lock / Unlock Car
I had the service vehicle soon light come on the other day and it took out the gauge back lights, fog lights, and tail lights. Also, when I used to lock and unlock the car with the remote the exterior lights would flash, now they don't. I check all headlights and tail lights and none of them are burnt out.

I had the oil changed in my 2009 Prius but the "change oil" light stayed lit. Rather than taking it back in to the Jiffy Lube, I found instructions on this site for resetting the light (hold down odometer button while pressing on button twice, etc.) and the display did what it was supposed to--the numbers were replaced with dashes and it seemed like the system reset. But the oil light remained on. I tried it several times to no avail.

One day I started my car and all of the lights came on and stayed on(ABS, Brake, airbag, seatbelt, exclamation point, etc). The next day only the airbag light stayed on. Then, the radio would change stations on its own. I told myself it was some kind of electrical problem and took it to the dealer. The person at the dealer assigned to me kept it two days and I got it back. The next day the airbag light came on again and stayed on. The radio started changing stations on it own again. I took it back to the dealer. He said the air conditioner hose got clogged by a huge spiderweb and other debris. He said he had a factory representative there and the problem was not a factory defect and would not be covered by my warranty. The total airbag system needs to be replaced and the electrical system. What should I do?

The Change Oil light was illuminated for a short time on my 2000 Grand Am. This morning, on the way to get the oil changed, the Service Vehicle Soon light came on also. After the oil change, the Change Oil light went off, but the Service Vehicle Soon light stayed on. I stopped by my mechanic, who doesn't like to change oil, since it does pay enough, and he said that there was something else that they should have done to reset this other light. He said it was in the manual, but I don't find it. How to turn it off?

Later this evening was driving it and power steering went out, ABS light came on, temp gauge jumping from hot then cold. I have read problem could be input or output sensor which are $17 bucks each. Going to try those...

On a 300 mile round trip yesterday the service engine icon came on and stayed on. This happened once before last December after I bought my used 012 250 6.7. I took it back to the ford place and a mechanic cleared it on the gauges. This truck has correct oil and fluid levels. How to clear? I was driving today and at a traffic light a severe smell of burnt plastic filled the cabin and the A/C blower started to change speed than stayed at full blast and even if I'd turn the knob from side to side or tried to shut everything off with the ""OFF""button nothing would happen........so we drove home and at some point it shut itself off...tried it again and seems ok now.....every dealer closed today and leaving for the USA tomorrow morning.... I have a 1999 F-150 w/ 4.2 V6. and auto trans, truck has 219,000 miles on chassis but only 25,000 on engine and 10,000 on trans. I've been getting obd codes p0705 and p0715. I replaced the position sensor on outside of trans. but I continue to get the codes off and on again. I noticed that the O/D "OFF" light on the shift selector blinks simultaneously when the "service engine soon" light comes on. I've noticed that there is no low gear unless I have it in D from a dead stop, and not even when downshifting manually.

I put H2 seats in my 03 Silverado, but now the service airbag light comes on. It seems to be on the driver side, same problem if I just unplug the Silverado seat. It fixes itself if I put the original seat back in (power), but I really want the H2 seats as they have the power seat back, lumbar, etc.
All the power options work once installed, just get the airbag warning light..
Buick - Century :: 2000 - ABS / Trac Off / Service Vehicle Soon Lights Came On
My 2000 Buick Century has an issue that whenever it rains really hard, after driving a while the ABS, Trac Off, and Service Vehicle Soon lights come on. I am assuming that part of the electrical connections are getting wet and causing the lights to come on. When there is no rain, obviously the lights don't come on. It's only done it one other time and it did it today. I was just curious what to do to fix it, before I jump into looking at all electrical connections which we all know can be hard to diagnose. By the way, the car has 64,000 miles on it if that makes any difference.

I have a 2003 grand am auto with a 2.2 the other day the battery light came on and my car just died. it started right back up, went sluggish for a mile and stalled again. Thinking a battery problem a couple of hours later a friend came with some cables, but oddly enough it started up on its own again. Only to stall out in less than a mile. My friend suggested I check the oil, which was about quart and a half low, the car started right up. It seemed to run pretty well, the battery light came on again but the car seemed okay. the second i touched the rear defrost button the car all the lights went on, my dash looked like a Christmas tree. I am at a loss. I know my air filter needs changing as well but not sure how that would come into play.
