Golf/GTI VI :: 2014 - Clicking Noise When Shifting
My car is a 14' GTI and it's a 6MT. It only has 3k miles on it, but ever since I bought it I've noticed that I can hear a click sometimes when shifting or releasing the clutch pedal.
Is this just the normal mechanical noise? (it's my first manual). I mean the car shifts/drives fine, im just curious. The car is driving fine and everything and shifts perfectly fine. I am newish to driving a stick, but been doing it for a few months now with no major issues.here is a video I took (Car is OFF in this video and stopped, noise is the same when driving though). [URL]......
I'm probably being paranoid, but im not used to a Standard Transmission also, so im not aware what noise they should be making.I guess it's worth noting, that I also kinda hear it when releasing the clutch (but im also shifting at that time as well, and whats in the video is basically the same noise). The car is pretty much brand new......3k or so miles on it, so it seems......unlikely? but I figured i'd ask anyways.
Golf VI R :: Clutch Clicking While Shifting Between 1st, 2nd And 3rd Gear
Last couple morning here in Michigan we've seen temps in the low to mid 30's. The last two mornings when I shift between 1, 2 & 3 I'm hearing a clicking noise coming from the clutch when engaging the gear. After a few minutes, once it warms up, the clicking goes away.
I am @ stage 1+ W/VWR intake, but I'm not expecting clutch troubles from that.
Sonata NF (2006-10) :: Clicking Noise When Shifting From Park
My car engine is G4KD 2.0 L 2009, no shift interlocking mechanism installed (I don't have the small button near the gear box to release it) also I am able to shift from P to anything else while the car not turned on, and I can shift without the brake.
2 weeks ago, I started to hear click noise (I am not sure if it was there before, maybe it got louder) when I switch from P to R, and from N to D, my car is on 80000 Km and didn't replace the gear box oil (dealer said oil is fine).
Car run smoothly but I am curious why I have this click.
Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Clicking Noise When Shifting And Moving From A Full Stop
I am hearing a clicking sound when shifting and perhaps an unrelated but similar click when I am pressing the gas peddle from a stop. Perhaps a CV joint? I'm taking the car in to the dealer (approximately 79,000 km or 48,000 miles) on the 20th to give the car a once over.

Shifting especially at high revs. The noise also seems to happen when shifting to gears 2,3 and 4; not so much 5 & 6. What is the cause?
View 6 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2.5 5 Speed - Clunking Noise When Shifting Gears
Lately when shifting gears, there's this clunking noise as I let off the clutch. It happens more often than not when I'm in traffic and I upshift without giving any gas on the clutch release. Currently got 13k km on my car.
View 1 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: Clunk Type Noise From Transmission When Shifting In To Or Out Of 2 / 3 / 4
The first thing is that suddenly there's a clunk type noise from the transmission when shifting in to or out of 2/3/4. Also, when I'm in one of those gears, letting off the throttle and then re-applying lightly causes the clunk noise. However, I haven't noticed any actual performance difference, just the new noise. It's loud enough that I can hear it over the radio at a reasonable volume, and it may or may not be my imagination but I think I can feel it through the floor of the car.
The next thing is that in the mornings, the car seems to have trouble getting in to gear from a stop. So I'll pull up to a light, then stop, and if I take off the brake and get immediately on the throttle, the car will lurch pretty bad, even if it's only a little throttle. I've found that if I let off the brake, and wait specifically to hear/feel the transmission kick in, there's no lurch and everything is fine.
Also, on that same note, sometimes when I let off the brake at these times, the car nearly stalls. It hasn't stalled yet but it's felt close a few times.
As well, from a cold start, there is what feels like an absolute ton of engine braking in second gear, I can feel the car pulling back immediately after I let off the throttle, and this seems strange and new as well.
Golf IV R32 :: Clicking Noise While Rolling And Not At Startup
I'm getting a clicking noise while rolling, somewhat loud, and the same consistent clicking noise that speeds up when I speed up. Just a normal "click.....click.....click....click....". Would this most likely be the wheel bearing or am I getting in the red with possibly an axle?
View 9 RepliesGolf IV R32 :: Clicking Noise When Driving In Reverse
I changed my flywheel and clutch in April. After the install, 3 weeks later, I start to hear this little clicking noise when I'm driving in reverse. I didn't pay much attention to it. Last night the clicking noise got a little louder, so I was telling myself, I have to get it checked out.
Today I bring my car to the shop to get an oil change, totally forgot to mention the clicking noise I was hearing in reverse. So I leave the shop, I get on the high way, I starting hearing that clicking noise. The more I was driving, the louder the noise got. So I pull over, now I put it in reverse, now it sounds like its grinding. While I'm in reverse moving, the gear is grinding. So my girl friend lives 3 mins from the exit. So o was driving to her house, now it's doing it while driving on and off. Not as loud as it was in the reverse.
I'm guessing it could be my tranny or my axle. The reason why I'm thinking acle is because it has to be rebuild, leaking grease. I'm guessing tranny, but god knows. I'm not a mechanic, but i want to know of its safe to drive it up to Bill in Ct. He's about an hour from me.
Golf/GTI VI :: Clicking Noise When Accelerating / Boosting
I have had my car a whopping 3 weeks and I noticed a weird click. Was driving my car today between two concrete walls with the windows down, and accelerated in 3rd into a little bit of boost and noticed a click-click-click rapidly as I accelerated. As I let off the gas, it slowed down and stopped. The car is stock, and it doesn't sound like any type of spooling from the turbo itself.
Only happens under acceleration past 2.6K (What feels like boost - No Gauge yet)
Golf IV R32 :: Loud Clicking Noise Mostly When Car Is Under Load
Well I have a loud clicking noise, mostly when the car is under load (pulling out, braking) at low speeds. First I thought it was the RSB but now it sounds like it's coming from the front of the car. I'm thinking it could be either motor mounts or tie rod. The car has 37K miles. I just can't seem to pinpoint where the noise is coming from yet.

I have had the clicking/popping clutch noise since I was breaking in the clutch but i thought it would eventually wear off. I have went through all the transmission threads and seen that a lot of people got it fixed having their clutch pedal assembly or master cylinder replaced.
Golf IV R32 :: Got Code P0456 And Clicking Noise?
I just recently had my cel come on and i scanned it when i got to work.. I've noticed that since I've owned the car which is only about 2 months I get this loud clicking sound from the passenger rear? If I am not mistaken I believe one of the evap control valves is located on this side.
View 5 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: Clicking Noise From Light Switch
I'm noticing an interesting thing with my GTI...whenever I step on the gas and whenever I let go, I hear clicks coming from the light switch. I've only noticed it on low speeds, perhaps because the engine noise is low...

What in the world is this clicking/ticking noise? It is the loudest thing in the engine bay, and as you can hear, it does NOT sound normal. It appears to be emanating around/under the fuel rail.
Golf/GTI VI :: Plastic Grinding Noise When Shifting From 1st To Second On Cold Days
I have been doing some research on why my 6sp MT makes a weird almost "Plastic Grinding" noise when shifting from 1st to second on cold days when it sits overnight. It has been getting under 40 degree that last couple days and it seems to go away after just a few minutes of driving. It only happens from 1st to 2nd. I have been told its normal and just because the trans fluid is thicker when cold.
View 3 RepliesGolf V R32 :: Intermittent Metallic Clicking Noise From The Middle Of The Car
I think I have a bad prop shaft CV joint. The car has been intermittently making a metallic clicking noise from the middle of the car. It can happen at any speed, a slow crawl to the highway. The frequency is completely tied to speed over the ground and seems to be once per revolution of the prop shaft. I put the car up on a lift yesterday and slid back the heat shield under the CV joint and bearing in the middle of the prop shaft. There is grease there that looks like it was thrown off of the shaft. Can the CV joint be replaced by itself or am I looking at replacing the entire prop shaft assembly?
View 4 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2.5 - All The Dash Lights And MPD Flickers With Clicking Noise
Car won't start this morning. Put the key in, turn it, and all the dash lights come on but the MPD flickers in sync a rapid clicking noise and I get an "Airbag Error" on the display. Lights, fans, etc work. This has to be tied to the fact that I totally blanked after going out to close my windows and left the keys in the ignition for approximately five hours. The key was in the ACC position, so I assume that led to battery drain on a battery approximately three years old. I've got a trickle charger on it now.
Just figured I'd check here verify that these batteries are not too temperamental/delicate for use with a trickle charger. Also to see if the general opinion is that running the car will recharge the battery or if I should just head out and replace it since three years seems to be the life of these batteries based on what I've read.
Golf IV R32 :: Clicking Noise During Idle / Goes Away When Press In Clutch
Just replaced my OEM clutch and flywheel with SPEC ones and now I have a weird clicking noise during idle from it. Noise goes away when I press in clutch. My technician says that they are known for this noise. Is that true?
