Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Buzzing Noise Gets Louder With Higher Revs

I am experiencing a weird noise coming from my 1.8T AWP engine. Its kind of a buzzing, and it gets louder with higher revs. Unfortunately its hard to hear while driving as I have an exhaust on it, but in a confined space you can hear it clearly.

Golf V R32 :: Exhaust Or Vacuum Leak At Higher RPMs

Recently bought a MKV R32. Already had a magnaflow cbe, k&n panel filter, and some emissions stuff taken out from under the hood. not sure if it has been flashed, waiting to get a vagcom. think it is pretty stock other than that. My problem is about 2 weeks after I got it, I started to notice an exhaust leak or vacuum leak or both at higher RPMs, like above 3 or 4k it starts. The exhaust has a nice deep rumble in normal driving but when the leak noises start that is all you hear, the exhaust note disappears completely. I have tightened the clamps on the cbe and still does it. Not sure what to look for.

Elantra GD (2013+) :: Auto Shift Noise At Higher RPMs

2013 Elantra GT ... Odd sound when shifts at higher RPMs. Like a chirp, or a tiny blow off valve from an old home turboed civic. Some sort of leak? When the engine is under load, it sounds like I may have some sort of minor exhaust leak, though that is nowhere near audible in the video. Very curious as to what this is.

Listen right at 0:14 when it shifts.

Ford :: Buzzing / Rattling Noise When Clutch Engaged To Shift To 3rd Gear

My manual 2004 Ford Ranger XLT (4.0L) has been Buzzing/Rattling. (VIDEO LINK BELOW) She has 112k miles on her. Owned 1 month, no issues when I bought from my paps. Its my 1st manual so may have been a little hard on clutch 1st few days. Noise started abruptly 1 week ago when I engaged clutch to shift to 3rd. Its gotten worse over the few days and happens even when in gear. Its much more prominent from outside passenger window. Don't notice for 1st couple mins of driving & is intermittent but often. Noticeably louder when foot is taken off gas in motion. Does not make noise when idling. Generally only above 1500 RPM . Not coming from the back half so I don't think its the exhaust/heatshield

Heres the sound......

Ford Escape / Hybrid :: Buzzing Sound From Dash At Higher Speed?

ok this has me stumped I get this buzzing/humming/vibration sound from what seems like around Defroster passenger side but it is not all the time only at higher speeds and it it intermittent . I have removed cabin filter and cleaned filter box and checked for a leaf or something even sealed somewhat the plastic shield that covers the cabin filter. I really don't want to rip dash apart but it is so annoying

Golf/GTI VI :: Buzzing Noise Coming From Engine Bay

2012 gti, manual, 7k miles.

I've got this tinny buzzing noise coming From the engine bay that only happens between 2800 and 3k rpm. I hear it whenever I'm cruising on the highway and shifting through gears. Also if I have the windows down you can hear it outside the car.

Golf/GTI VII :: 2016 - Buzzing Noise When Fan Is Turned On

I am just over a week and 500 miles into owning my gti, and so far it has been overwhelmingly positive. That being said, I have had a couple of minor issues. Today I went for a drive and at some point I turned the stereo volume off and noticed a buzzing noise. After playing around with things I was able to determine the buzzing was happening only when the fan was turned on. It was there at all speeds and got a little louder with each fan speed increase. It's not really that loud, but the fan in my Matrix had no noise except the woosh of the air. Just curious if maybe it is a difference that is common in the gti? I don't want to go rushing to the dealer unless it's something that really needs to be looked at

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Hissing / Buzzing Noise At Certain Speeds

2002 Jetta 2.0 4-speed auto - 151,xxx miles.

Symptom: when driving, occasionally there is what I can only describe as a fairly loud (but not overwhelming - radio easily drowns it out) hissing+buzzing noise. It's a bit like listening to a small plastic gear grind at a very high speed with a bit of a hissing as a backdrop. It only happens occasionally, and I haven't identified any glaring rhyme or reason to when it happens.

What I can say is I've observed it around shifts on fairly strong acceleration, I've observed it climbing long hills, and I've observed it when cruising ~60mph on the freeway. It SEEMS like it is sensitive to the gas pedal - when I hear it, if I depress the pedal more and accelerate I tend to move beyond it, but if I let the pedal off and decelerate (thinking of the 60 mph freeway case here) I can bring the sound back. And if I continue to decelerate we move past the noise.

So, I can't really tell if it is RPMs, or speed, or engine load, or...

A little about my history with the car: I bought it only 2,000 miles ago, so I can't say much about what is "normal" or has been going on for how long.

A little about the transmission - I know they have a very bad rep. I had the trans fluid changed with the correct type right after purchase. It generally shifts ok. There are occasional delays going from reverse into D, and sometimes shifts on acceleration are less elegant than you'd hope, but it seems to generally function as a 4-speed transmission ought to.

This noise is something failing, and given that seems to relate in some way to speeds/loads/possibly shifts I hope this isn't a sign the transmission is going to suddenly give out.

Golf V R32 :: Electronic Buzzing Noise While Driving At Various Times

Situation: In recent months I have noticed a new noise in my R. The noise only appeared while driving at various times which lead me to believe it was from local cell towers that I passed during my commute, or when exceeding approximately 55 mph. The noise has since increased in frequency and happens at various speeds. I cannot determine what triggers it or what component it is from.

A local friend of mine just purchased an R32 and he is now noticing the same noise in his car. It is in both of our cars and happens when exceding 40mph. We do not know if it is a model specific issue or caused by a local environmental source (radio, cellular, military).

Description: Electrical buzzing noise. Resembles the sound of when you used to have a cellphone close to a stereo/pc speaker. The noise comes from the dash cluster area. It can be from a spontaneous periodic chirp to a constant pulsing buzz. Very faint, but very annoying.

The sound makes me assume there is electrical interference with the dash warning chime or something to that effect. I even considered the PMS getting/causing radio interference. My friends R32 has a normal TPMS, but my TPMS has been disabled.

Additional info:
Both cars are stock except for the addition of Hockeypucks.
Car 1: MFD2 w/ active Satellite Radio, TPMS Disabled, AT&T Cell Service, Samsung GS2
Car 2: Premium 7 w/ active Satellite Radio, TPMS Enabled, Sprint Cell Service, iPhone

Eliminated variables:
Seat Heaters
Mirror Heaters
Wipers

Example of the noise: 0:06 - 0:13

Some testing has lead me to acknowledge it is a vibration issue derived from road surface. It appears to be in the area of the vin plate, but that has yet to be determined as fact.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 1999 - Higher Frequency / Pitch Noise After Trying To Drift

I let my friend drive my 1999.5 2.0L Jetta (Automatic). He attempted a drift around a cultist, when he started the drift the car made it's usual noise. But after the sharp turn and acceleration, the car made a higher pitch noise. It was definitely noticeable. When driving back home the car performed all the same, accelerated and turned as per usual. But the noise still remains. I don't know what is causing it to make the noise, maybe the Transmission? I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to cars so that's why I came here.

Camry :: 2007 LE - Exhaust Buzzing When Accelerating

I have a 2007 Camry le 4 cylinder. When under a load on the highway there is an occasional buzzing that occurs when accelerating (sounds like a piece of metal vibrating at a high pitch). It only happens under about 3000 RPMs and the noise doesn't occur any other time (idle, reving the engine while idle, slow speeds, etc.). Today I got it up on a lift and checked all of the heat shields under the hood and around the exhaust under the car. Nothing seemed loose. I had two mechanics look at it and one thinks that the exhaust flex pipe is the culprit, while the other insists that this is a known issue with the resonator (said a small piece may have broken off of a baffle inside and is vibrating). Are either of these components well known to cause this type of issue? I'd rather not replace both if one is frequently the cause.

Golf/GTI VII :: Rear Driver's Side Speaker Making Buzzing Noise?

Yesterday I noticed the rear driver's side speaker buzzing in my GTI S. Is it possible that I already have a blown speaker (I don't usually crank the system)? Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Buzzing / Hissing Noise At Certain Speeds / RPMs / Loads

I have a 2002 Jetta GLS 2.0 4-speed automatic, 151,xxx miles... I have only owned it a couple of thousand miles, so I can't offer much on what is "normal"...

The issue I am having is as follows: I sometimes get a strange buzzing/hissing noise that sounds like it is coming from the engine compartment ~45 degrees to my right while driving. It's very hard to describe - the best I can say is it sounds a bit like a little plastic gear is spinning/grinding at high rpms, yielding a buzzing noise, and there is a hissing-like sound as a backdrop.

The sound happens only occasionally (but seems to be happening much more frequently, which is worrisome). I have heard the sound in different driving scenarios, so I can't say "it only happens when...". However, it DOES seem to be sensitive to throttle and driving conditions in some way. I have heard it while a shift is taking place, I have heard it under load on a long incline, and I tend to hear it right around 60mph. Interestingly, in the 60mph example, can make the sound go away by accelerating past 65, or by decelerating down to ~50... it seems like there is some kind of transition taking place at 60 that fosters the sound?

The transmission is generally functional - I had the fluid changed right after buying it (with the correct fluid), and it generally shifts ok. It does have some of the quirky behavior the transmission is known for: occasionally hesitates to go from R to D, sometimes shifts while driving are less subtle than they should be. But I'd say as a whole it operates as a 4-speed transmission would be expected to.

However, since this strange noise is getting worse, and seems to be related to shifts/load/andor speed in some way... I am worried about trans health. What to check? Because it is intermittent, and doesn't exist at idle and rarely appears when going around the block good luck getting a mechanic to observe it...

Camry :: 2006 - Sound Like A Hole In The Exhaust At Higher Speed

I have a 2006 Camry (manual transmission) w 165K miles.

Within the last year or so, it has gotten louder, more noticeable at higher speeds. Almost sounds like a hole in the exhaust. However, shifting into lower or higher gears doesn't change the tone of the noise. Taking it out of gear completely doesn't have an effect. However driving faster does. So I'm pretty sure it is drive train related .

Does this sound like a wheel bearing issue?
