Long story short I've had these coils on my car for a little of 2000 miles and about a month, at low speeds I hear squeaky from the rear of the car. I know its coming from the shocks I've checked all of the bushings and lubricated them. Its getting very annoying.
View 9 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Replacing New Struts / Shocks
I'm looking at replacing the struts and shocks in my 04 Prius. Last time I replaced them with some cheap KYBs I found on auto parts warehouse. I was hoping for an improvement over the old worn out parts, but didn't feel an improvement. Well after 5+ years and who knows how many miles I figured it was time to replace them again.
View 7 RepliesCorolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Changing Out Shocks And Struts
I have a new Corolla and live in a city with really bad roads. My other vehicles I've had before this one have all taken a real sh#@ kicking and abuse as a result of the roads. I'm wondering if changing out the shocks and struts before they get too worn is good preventative maintenance to protect the overall integrity of the car? If this is something I should do, how many kilometres on the shocks / struts should I have before change out?

View 12 RepliesPassat (B5) :: Will Sport Shocks And Struts Lower The Ride Height?
I already have sport Eibach springs and my shocks and struts are about to go, but this gives me an opportunity I can either go coilovers or all sport suspension. I want to go a little lower though than what its sitting at now, especially when I put my 18x8 wheels on. I definitely want to go static, air ride is too much. So I was wondering if I went with the blistein sport shocks and struts with the sprt eibach springs would it sit lower?
View 14 RepliesAccent RB (2012+) :: Struts / Shocks Caused Tires To Be Very Loud
My bad struts/shocks have allowed my tires we wear weird and now I sound like a jacked up truck with mud tires going down the road! I'm going to replace the struts and shocks in my car but do you think I can just keep riding on the tires as they still have a ton of tread on them? I can deal with the noise until they are ready to be changed but was just wondering if that can cause any other issue?
View 1 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Bouncy Feeling When Driving - Shocks / Struts Replacement
I've purchased my 2006 Sonata (LX) 2 years ago and noticed a very bouncy feeling when I drive. When I hit potholes and bumps I can feel the impact on the lower body, and when turning, hitting a bump would pull the car slightly in one direction. I've read through the forums that this might be normal (?) for 2006 Sonata's? I wanted to make sure if this is common occurrence and if changing the struts would make any difference. Here are pictures of my front and rear struts......
View 19 RepliesYaris/Scion & Vitz :: 2004 Echo - Struts On Factory Original Shocks
I've owned my '04 echo since new. It now has 172,000 km on it. It still has the factory original shocks and struts in it. Surely its time to replace them. I've never owned a car that used struts before. Now I have read here before if they aren't leaking then they are ok.
I guess I could do the old shock test of bouncing the car up and down and see how many times the car bounces after you stop pushing up and down on the fenders. The car just seems to ride harsher over the bumps in the road now.
Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Replacing Shocks Absorbers And Struts For Front And Rear
I went into a shop today and got my corolla checked out and they said that its shock absorbers and struts should be replaced because the oils were leaking and they told me the total estimate of my cost (parts+labors) are about 1300 dollars.
Like, do I need to buy all shock absorbers, struts and strut springs for each of the wheel? (front 2 + rear 2 = total of 4 of each) ??
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2002 - Replace Throttle Body And Coil In Cylinder 2 But Again Error Message P0638?
I have got a 5 door 2002 Golf 1.6l petrol, manual transmission with 190k kilometers on the clock. It has been playing up recently and the authorized VW garage is clueless, but still happy to charge for a miserable job...
The "symptoms" are always the same: I can start the car no problem. Plenty of water coming out of the exhaust and EPC light comes on, no power transmission (or very little). In this state, the engine runs irregular. Before all this happens, you can tell there will be a problem (this is not super obvious), as the car does not run smoothly in neutral, especially when it is at a a hill You might get away with another 50k but that's it.
Breakdown 1: Called out road side assistance and got it towed. Volkswagen dealer retrieved the error code P1564 and they replaced the throttle and some of the contacts of the throttle. (Costs 800 GBP)
Breakdown 2: However, 300 km later, same problem as before road side assistance retrieved error code P0638. The memory was reset and it did run perfectly fine for a short while (2000 km).
Breakdown 3: As before, error message P1564 was read. This time they thought there was a problem with the coil in cylinder 2 and replaced it (250 GBP) - also the one in cylinder 1 as "old". Picked up the car and it was not running smoothly in neutral and it eventually broke down after only 90 km.
What to get changed next? What is the real root of the problem here?

View 2 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: Any Other Part To Replace Along With Struts?
After reading up on things to do for maintenance, I've decided to replace my struts around the 95k mile mark.
While I'm down there, is there anything else I should replace/do while the wheels and struts are off?
I've read some people talk about replacing CV joints as a preventative measure, others about bushings but most seem content with just the struts.

So, we have a CEL and we're experiencing the lack of power under WOL. Feels like the fuel is being shut off. Did a little research and I guess the computer sees the issue and will cut fuel if it recognizes an issue? Could be the reason its showing the "Fuel level too low"?
Vagcom shows as follows:
2 Faults Found:

P0304 - 000 - Misfire Detected - Intermittent - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 10100000

My plan is to replace cylinder 4 coil pack and all the plugs.
