Passat (B5) :: 1998 - How To Make Front Fog Lights Available In Euroswitch City Lights (Parking Lights) Mode
1998 Passat 1.8t B5 sedan. OEM fog lights up front. No rear fog lights.
I recently upgraded to a "Euro" light switch to get more flexibility with my lights. Put tape on the TFL pin to disable DRLs in OFF Mode. Put tape on the 56d pin to disable DRLs in CITY LIGHTS (Parking Lights) mode. Completely successful -- no DRLs, just as taping the TFL pin on the original light switch accomplished long ago.
BEFORE I did any taping this time, I installed the Euro switch AS IS and tested all of its modes and physical positions:
(1) OFF: No fog light position available (switch knob will not pull out). As expected and okay.
(2) FULL ON Fog lights come on (but who the hell can see them?!?) when switch knob is pulled out one stop into the fog light position -- and the little front fog symbol on the switch lights up. Again, expected and just fine.
(3) CITY LIGHTS (Parking Lights): The fog lights position is physically available by pulling the switch knob out one stop... BUT THE PARKING LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON (regardless of ignition switch position, emergency hand brake position, etc., etc.) And the little fog light symbol on the switch does not light up. (Not surprisingly, pulling the knob further out to the REAR fog light position does nothing either.)
THIS IS NOT GOOD - since with a Euroswitch one ought to be able to manually select and de-select the fog lights while in CITY LIGHTS (Parking Lights) mode!
How to make my FRONT FOG LIGHTS available in Euroswitch CITY LIGHTS (Parking Lights) mode...?

After euro switch is installed on mk4 gli, the parking lights still remain on with the front fogs.The switch would be in the middle position. So the DRL's are off and just the parking lights are on until the switch is pulled out into position 1. Then the fogs come on and pulling out into position 2, turns the rear fogs on.

I changed the bulbs from the stock to LED then the error light was showing so I decided to switch back the stock lights (I did this while the lights were on).
And now my city lights will not turn on at all! It is a fuse that is causing this problem?

I purchased a used set of JDM HID/LED fogs awhile ago and had them installed by a buddy of mine who owns a shop. The HID portion was plug and play, but I cannot figure out how to get the LED portion to light up outside of tapping into the parking lights. It came with a DRL switch with a number of harnesses attached and a ground wire. I dropped the panel under the steering wheel and cannot see anywhere to plug it in. I reached out to the few people who have installed these, and contacted a number of sellers, but have not had much luck.
Do the LED portion has a harness to plug into on a US Spec car?

Golf/GTI VI :: 2011 - How To Remove City Or Parking Light Bulb
How do you remove the city or parking light bulb in the 2011 GTI, without the HID projector headlights? I have the regular halogen set-up...I want to change them to a super white bulb to match my Xenesis bulbs.
I know its the 194 bulb, I just can't seem to pull it free...

I had oem LED taillights installed to my car. Dealer coded the car to avoid error lights on dash. The problem is now the city lights under xenons look dimmed. Not as bright as before. I asked him why did it happen and he said that it's normal as it needs to balance the current flow to supply enough power to the LED taillights. I'm not satisfied with this answer though.

Is it possible to hard code them off since I bought the car used.
I switch headlights on, start the car, they do the dance and self level, they seem to work fine otherwise.

So I was doing the DRL - Dimming on indication mod with the VAGCOM. I used the following steps:
Go to [09] Central Electronics
Go to Security Access and enter 31347
Go to adaptation channels and set the following (they're quite far down the list):
"Leuchte2SL VLB10-Lichtfunktion G 2" to Blinken links active (besides Phasen)
"Leuchte2SL VLB10-Dimmwert GH 2" to 35
"Leuchte2SL VLB10-Dimming Direction GH 2" to minimize
"Leuchte3SL VRB21-Lichtfunktion G 3" to Blinken rechts aktiv (beide Phasen)
"Leuchte3SL VRB21-Dimmwert GH 3" to 35
"Leuchte3SL VRB21-Dimming Direction GH 3" to minimize
Now my right front turn signal is inop. Checked voltage and swapped bulbs left to right. the bulb is good. No sure what I did. Could I have disabled the blinker somehow? Where is the channel for the right front blinker?
Golf/GTI VI :: Euro LED Tails With Fogs - Reverse Lights Throwing Error
Had the tail lights coded for at a local shop.. realized as I was leaving that the reverse lights are throwing an error. Can these be coded for? Now that the car recognizes the tails as LED, is the error coming from the incandescent? Should I replace the bulbs with low pulling LEDs without resistors? As for the fog, do I have to replace the bulb as well? No euro switch or wiring done. Basically, how do I get rid of the error.

I just picked up my new 2010 Golf (2-door manual, gas) a couple of weeks ago. I'm planning to take it back to the dealer for the first checkup soon. I'm having a minor issue with the car and am wondering if others have experienced this or if I have something set improperly. I've gone through all of the adjustments available through the trip computer menus to no avail.
Basically, the courtesy lights for the interior of the car don't come on when the door is opened. The sensor on the door apparently works as the "door ajar" signal comes on the instrument panel when the door is open.
The switch on the headliner works to turn the lights off (left), stay on (right), but in the center position, which according to the owner's manual is supposed to be the "door open" position, the lights do not come on.
I also hate the horn that beeps when I lock the car. I often come home from work after my kids are asleep and I try not to make noise. There doesn't appear to be a setting for this in the owner settings menu through the trip computer. Can the dealer turn this off for me?
Interesting, today VW sent me an email with a link to some "welcome" videos with how-to information about features on the car. On the remote locking video it just showed and described the turn signals flashing when locking, but no horn.
Otherwise, I'm enjoying the car a great deal. It drives wonderfully and is very quiet on the freeway. I just love the new seats on the 2010 base Golf as well. They remind me a lot of the Recaros on my old Jetta 16v.
Golf VI R :: LED Tail Lights With Rear Fogs - Only Outside Left Light Worked With Brake Depressed
I just installed the lights and found that only the outside left light worked with the brake depressed, the outside left inside left and inside right worked with the light switch in the on position. Also both blinkers work.
I switched my byte 18 to 04 already and am not (as of now) using my euro light switch (I didn't think this would be it but I'm at a complete loss) ...
