Passat (B6) :: Sunglass Storage Case In Overhead Keeps Falling Open
The only problem I am having with this car is that the sunglass case in the overhead console behind the sunroof controls will not stay shut. It keeps falling open. I suspect it will have to be replaced. I hate to go to the dealer if I don't have to.

Just recently replaced timing chains and clutch on a 2000 VR6, now I have a bit of drive-case whine but in 3rd & 4th gear only? Replaced throw out bearing with new and sachs clutch, Are my transmission bolts too tight or something?

I sent my car out for a new clutch and timing chains cause I did not have the time to do my self. So when I got it back I try and get into the trunk and the key will not turn the lock so then I tried to do it with the switch and you could here it unlock but again still would not open.
Also I called the mechanic and he claims he never heard this b4 cause the key should always be able to turn.

I have a mk6 golf tsi (highline/gt). While cleaning it I found out that if you sit in the car and use the key to lock it there's no other way to get out other than using the key. What if someone gets locked inside in a hot day? I for example am claustrophobic. In my other car (2004 e class) you can open the door even if the car is locked. I have the multifunction display can I fix it from there?

I have a 2013 VW Golf 7 and since this winter it is the second time I can't get the fuel filler cap door to open at the gas station.
First time I blame it on the freeze, yesterday on 8 degrees was not the case so there is a problem.
Does the lock system of the fuel door is different in G7 than in previous models?
How can I reach from inside the trunk to manual release the lock and check the motor is working?
As it worked until now and suddenly makes problem, could be a wire problem or actually the motor/actuator getting rusty or something?

Is there a manual release for the gas tank door of a Mk VI GTI? I tried restarting and turning off the engine, and unlocking all doors, but I don't hear a click for the gas tank door (which would normally allow me to push it in and swing it open).

Golf V R32 :: Hatch Unlocks But Doesn't Open
My hatch has been unlocking just fine (you hear the click and it pops out just a little bit) but when you flip the emblem to open it won't always open. This is of course intermittent so I can't get it to happen at the dealer. It feels unlocked but when you pull on it something still is staying latched and I have to unlock it again with the remote to release.

I went with a group to a concert Friday night. I realized that I hadn't locked the car, and called back to have someone lock it for me. It would not lock by the buttons while the door was open. 2004 GLI ... Venting opens but when I turn the knob to open the sunroof completely, I can hear and see that it wants to open but it stays neutral and wont open up. I attempted the manual crank. Again, I can get it to vent manually, but when I turn the allan key the other way to fully open the roof, it will go as far as moving just below the roof line, but it will not continue to open. I'm concerned if I crank on it too hard, something will break.

Trouble shooting my sunroof. When I first go the car the sunroof would open but not close, even when I pushed in the button to reset.
I have replace/ and calibrated replace the switch now I get the fallowing.
When I put it to open all the way, it goes in to vent mode ( the back opens up), ( when i put it close it closes fine).
When i put in vent the sunroof slide back 1/4 of the way. when I try to close it closes and opens back to 1/4 open. I have to close it and press the button in to close it.
