Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Traction Control Light Remains On
My car's front bumper got ripped off this week , parking spots on the grass pulled it off) Ever since then, I've been having weird ass issues. After it happened, I zip tied it back together and started to go to town when my car kicked itself into EPC mode, but only when I went on the throttle. If I let off, the EPC light would go off, but the traction control light would stay on (ESP light, whatever). I killed it and realigned the throttle body (I think that's what it is. Where you hold the brake and throttle in for about 30-60 seconds while the key is on but not started then kill it and restart it) and after I did that, it will start and only stay alive for half a second then die. It's started to make a god-awful crackling noise as well in the engine compartment near the Alternator.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2003 - CEL Comes On And Car Remains Stuck In 2nd Shift For 5 - 10 Minutes
I bought a 2003 Jetta automatic w/ triptronic.
When the engine is cold in the morning(when i go to work) engine light(CEL) comes on and the car remains stuck in 2nd shift for 5-10 min(happens 1-2 times a week).
When I get back from work car goes well and the CEL is off.
I went to a shop and I found 4 codes:
00300- transmission fluid temperature sensor(G93). not a plausible signal-intermittent
00526- brake light switch- F short with power-intermittent
00652- gear monitoring not a plausible signal- intermittent
01045-tiptronic switch (F189) not a plausible signal- intermittent
I was thinking that it's possibly a transmission control module gone bad, but I'm not sure.
Golf/GTI VII :: Car Started Limping, EPC Light Remains On
I have a 2015 gti pp autobahn. Car has 3700 miles. I had an injen CAI installed and a spulen/hks bov kit installed 2 days ago. It was installed by a performance vw and Audi shop. I drove about 100 miles in past 2 days. Driving to work today I heard the turbo spooling and then no bov sound. The car started limping. The EPC light is now one. The car is in limp mode doesn't really go over 50. I popped the hood all pipes appear to be connected and can't find a boost leak.

2006 durango 4.7 awd checked all recalls, none outstanding. The door ajar light remains on which means the interior light does while driving (along with the warning alarm beeps) and after leaving the vehicle also.
Been around all the doors to make sure they are shut, but cannot turn it off. Where would the switches be located on the doors or is there some other thing I should be looking for.
Prius (2004-09) :: Battery Fan Remains On / Warning Light Came On
I just purchased a 2006 Prius with 89k miles and it has a problem with the drive train and randomly losing all power on the freeway causing me to make emergency shoulder stops to reset the car.
The symptoms are as follows:
-red triangle on, orange circle with ! on, check engine light on, hybrid monitor green car symbol is red with ! in it
-traction battery fan is always on when car is powered
-the car has never driven under electric power
-shifting problems, sluggish acceleration and all power loss on freeway
-hybrid monitor system lies and shows the battery full one second and empty the next.

I have a 1996 GMC Yukon with 243,000 miles on it. It has had the following issue for some time: Start the vehicle, all is well. Put it in gear, begin to roll about 3-5 MPH, can hear the ABS system pulse once, then the ABS light remains on until the vehicle is shut off. This happens 95% of the time. Trying to figure out if this is an issue with a wheel speed sensor, or the ABS unit itself.

Checked battery connections / full charge, replaced alternator rebuilt, replaced voltage regulator new after market. Checked fuses. Alternator light remains illuminated. Had Charging system checked at Autozone - all checks out OK, yet light remains illuminated. Checked drop on charging system with voltmeter and alternator appears to be handling the load when electrical turned on. Checked / cleaned connections at regulator / alternator - alt light remains illuminated. Why the light will not turn out?

Lately, I've noticed what appears to be water coming from underneath my engine. It is located at the rear-centre of the engine, near the firewall, and quite enough leaks that I can see the puddle draining near to the sidewalk where I park. I have not been using the AC (that is, the green light is not on) but the air is still cool so perhaps the AC is still working though. It appears to be water, has no odour, nor does it appear to have any colour - so I am sure it is water. Could it be the water pump? Or just part of the AC condenser? More accurately, does the AC still work (even minutely) even though the green "AC" light remains unlit?

After the car has sat for awhile 1-2 hours, when I start it back up the engine coolant temp light comes on and remains on for 1-3 minutes. This happens regardless of the ambient temp outside. It can be 40 degrees up to 80 and it will still come on. This started a few months ago, I have drained and flushed the cooling system, and wondering id this may be an indication that my thermostat is faulty and needs to be changed.

Golf V R32 :: Self Levelers Won't Work / Passenger Side Headlight Remains On
Last year at WiTW, abeR noticed that my headlights were all cockeyed. He attempted to fix them but couldn't get them to work properly. The self levelers weren't working and the passenger side was always shining for squirrels.
I took it to the dealership and after a bit of troubleshooting, they replaced the entire headlight assembly. Warranty is good.
All was good with the world, but now we discovered that the passenger side is acting up again. The self levelers work when you turn on the car, but the shutter to put on the brights on the passenger side will not work when you pull the stalk.
Just seems weird that this unit is so much trouble.
Avalon 2005-12 :: Check Engine Light Remains On With Code P0327
I replaced the water pump. Huge problem. I will get rid of the car before I replace that again. But, it is replaced and the car is functioning.
Unfortunately, the check engine light remains on and I still get p0327(knock sensor) code and car has a slight ruff run.I have the Actron code reader(fairly cheap, but effective) and it will clear the vsc but not the check engine. Upon restart, the check engine light reappears in 7 seconds followed by the vsc symbol. This has been for a week now. So I have been dreading tackling this project next. But I figure if I'm doing this, I better change the rear plugs and maybe the rear coil packs as well.
Don't want to do this, but whether I do it or send it to the dealership, once is all I'm gonna do. I say all of this and yesterday, the check engine light goes away on its own and full power is back and ruff run gone.
I still plan to go into the engine this year because my car just hit 120,000 miles and i have to change my plugs. If it recurs, I will change it all. I will just wait. Only going in once.
Pontiac - Vibe :: 2009 - Passenger Airbag Status Light Remains On
I had the airbag recall work done recently. Last week, the passenger airbag status light stayed on, even with the engine turned off, and the key removed. The word, "Passenger" is constantly illuminated. The dealer that did the recall work told me to go home, and read my manual. A week later, a Toyota dealership told me that this is normal. I can't believe him, the word Passenger should not be lit when the car is off, and the key removed. When the passenger seat is occupied, Airbag On, or OFF works fine. It is just the word PASSENGER that is constantly lit.

Just replaced the RR speed sensor (that was fun) nothing a big hammer and flit tip screw driver can't fix there. Just 2 days ago the abs and asr light popped on the dash AGAIN. Ode too joy. Used a simple universal scanner too see if I could pull any codes, always worked for me, sure the scanner sees manufacturer specific codes it didn't bother me given I have the Bentley manuals. Already searched and found these lights related too codes or srs and brake light. Not my case. Given it's pretty odd I figured for future events of other mk4 owners this would be a good idea.

Was taking an exit ramp going about 90km/h, not doing anything crazy or abnormal, and my ASR light on my dash flicked on a couple of times and it cut the power, as though I was slipping while accelerating in snow. I hit the ASR switch on my console, and all problems went away.... then I parked my car for a few hours, took it for a drive later on in the night and all was well.
Not sure if this makes a difference but I bottomed out kinda hard on highway about 20 minutes before this happened going about 80km/h.
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Airbag Light Came On
I purchased a 2002 2.0 jetta a couple of months ago and not long after I had it I noticed that the airbag light had come on. I brought it to a garage and had them check it out and they came back with a code that read 01218 side airbag igniter passenger side. When. I asked about getting this fixed they really couldn't say much about what exactly the problem was other then to say that it could be a problem with the whole system...which I don't get as the code only came back for the side airbag igniter. I also went and spoke to the dealer here in town and they wouldn't even speak to me about it unless I let them have the car be seen by one of their mechanics and putting the computer on it to read the code which I had already told them about.

I am having a problem with my MK4 Jetta. The problem is that the light that says "Brake" on the dash is on and it is very dimly lit when the ebrake is down/ disengaged. But when I pull it up, it is lit up as much as it should. Also most of the time it will get even more dim if you tap the brake pedal or the clutch. My Jetta is scheduled to go get inspected in a few days and I need to fix this or it wont pass.
