Golf IV R32 :: Way To Remove Instrument Cluster?
Just wondering how to remove instrument cluster?
View 8 RepliesCamry :: 2004 - How To Remove The Dash / Cluster
Looking for the steps of how to remove the dash/cluster in the 04 camry? see, i want to change the bulbs in the cluster, but i dont know how to remove it? and do you know the bulb size off the top of your head?
Second: What is the name of the bulb that screws in the a/c control board, using a flat head screwdriver, you unscrew this green bulb from the back of the pannel, there are two bulbs, i need to know what they are called so i can order some new ones.
The info on this site about led info on all the bulbs is in fact not complete because it dont list the bulb size of the 04 camry dash cluster and it dont list the bulb for the a/c vent control
Also, what the speakers are called in the door and rear of car? see the 6x9 that were in the deck seem to look shallow mount speakers and the ones in the door seem to be special too because of the small magnet on them, how do i order the correct speaker the first time?
Caprice :: 1984 - Possible To Remove Speedo Without Pulling Cluster?
Have the usual winter squeak on speedometer, and twice I have tried to pull the cluster.
First time could not remove cable because I was not aware it's clipped to prevent turning. The second time I was not able even to get my hand in there to unclip it and unscrew.
So is it possible to remove just the speedometer head and leave the cable in place - there is an image in the shop manual showing that, but no "instructions"?
Golf/GTI VI :: 2011 - Windshield Scratches - What To Do
having just picked up a new 2011 GTI 2-door. Got a fantastic deal and couldn't be happier. I was a previous MkIV R32 owner and a vortex member, but the admins haven't responded to my request to get my old userID reinstated (it's attached to a forgotten password and an outdated email address).
So while I'm thrilled with the new GTI, I'm having some growing pains. It's cold here in MD and so my clear bra install didn't go do well. Still, the paint is protected and I'll redo it in the spring.
But today I drove the car in the sunshine for the first time (took it home at night) and found two small scratches in the windshield right at driver's eye level. They are thin, but they are there (you can just barely feel them with your fingernail), about 2 inches long and about a half an inch apart - given the arc, they were probably caused by the windshield wipers.
My question is this: the car has 47 miles on it and I just got it home, so these scratches were likely there when I bought the car (it had never even been test driven). Which option would you all pick???
1. It's a brand new car, call the dealer and make them buff out the scratches or replace the windshield, or,
2. Accept that new German windshield glass is SUPER soft and it is going to get scratched anyway, and just enjoy the new GTI.
As you can see, I'm obsessing a bit, as one does with a brand new car. I was really bummed out about the clear bra install failure, and now this.
Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: 2006 - How To Remove Instrument Cluster
I've been searching for instructions/procedure on how to remove the instrument cluster on my 2006 6.0 Superduty. My odometer has been showing the classic signs of a cold solder joint, cutting in and out constantly. It's been doing this for a couple of years, and I've taken it to the dealership, since it's still under warranty, however they were not able to find the problem since they were not able to witness the lighting go off and on. I figured I'd just do it myself and not even bother with the dealership if I don't have to. I've read the threads on how to fix the issue, however, everything I've found is for 2004 or older models. Are there any threads specific to the 2006? Or, is the instrument cluster on the 2006 the same as another year model? Maybe I can find this info. there.
View 9 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: Roof Rack Have Scratches And Outlines
I've been using roof racks for years and despite the towers being padded, I always end up with some scratches and or 'outlines' of the tower pad left behind. On my new car I wanted to avoid this so I made up some pads from paint protection film. They're practically invisible when the rack is off the car. I was really happy with the way they turned out so I'm thinking of producing them in quantity but would like some feedback first. I use a Yak rack but the pads would be made large enough to accommodate just about any of the popular roof systems available.

I have a 2012 F350 XLT that came out of Canada. So of course the speedometer is in KM. (Large numbers are km and smaller numbers are mph). I am trying to find out if I can simply change out my cluster with a mph cluster???
View 4 RepliesGolf V R32 :: No DRL Indicator On Instrument Cluster
With DRLs enabled and a Euro switch in Auto, I get HIDs, city lights and side markers during the day - no DRL indicator on instrument cluster.. With switch in Off, I get only HIDs, but with DRL indicator lit. In Auto I expected only HIDs as DRL and DRL indicator lit. No city lights or sides.
View 2 RepliesGolf/GTI VII :: Cluster Lighting Always On, Even The Lights Are Off
I would like to be able to have my cluster lighting always on, even if the lights are off. US MKVII Gti.. (DRL already turned off via vagcom)
On bright sunny days if i have my lights off, and partially because i have 85% tint, the cabin itself can be dark, and therefore it would be nice if i was actually able to see my dials, and not have to have the lights on.
Lexus IS 2014+ :: How To Fix Scrapes And Scratches
My car was neatly parked in a parking lot and when I came out to get my car, I found this huge scrape and scratches on the driver's side, passenger door. I was very angry at whoever did this because there is no way unless you are a stupid driver, that you will be able to hit my car because I parked right in the center of the parking space. Didn't leave a note or anything.
The scrapes and scratches do not seem too deep but the area is a bit large. I tried the Meguire's 2.0 but it didn't seem to work. What product I should use for this type of damage?
My car is IS250F Atomic Silver.
Prius (2010-12) :: Got Too Many Visible Scratches?
Noticed that the Gen 3 black model seems to scratch very easily? In my ten years of owning cars, I've received less than 10 scratches. In 10 months of owning my Gen 3, I have now at least 5 pretty visible scratches. I do my best to park away from other cars, don't park by high pedestrian traffic streets, etc. I'm taking precautions I never took with my other cars and I still get rudely surprised almost monthly.

I coded the cluster to have the needles staging when you turn on the car but noticed that they don't always do it... Why?

Golf IV R32 :: No Spark / No Indicator Lights On Cluster
I have recently started digging a little deeper into an issue that started late fall and am stuck. I drove my car home from work and it seemed to be running just fine, I parked it, turned it off and went in for the night. The next morning, I went to start my car and it just cranked but didn't fire over.
Things I know:
1. When I turn the key, the fuel pump primes and I know it is building fuel pressure. I recently replaced the fuel pump, fuse 28 and pump relay.
2. I checked for spark and found that there is no spark when i pull a coil pack and touch it to the block. I also recently had all the coil packs replaced under the coil pack recall.
3. I get no indicator lights when I turn the key to the armed position (CEL, Battery, Central Display, Traction Control all absent).
4. The car is not throwing a code. I scanned it in VAGcom already.
5. I suspected a bad crank position sensor, so I replaced that and nothing.
So, I am stuck. I assume it might be the ignition switch as the lights on the display don't work in accessory mode but I am not sure. My radio works, blinkers, blower, headlights and all that too so that also leads me to think i might be wrong.
Golf IV R32 :: Cranks But Won't Start After Cluster Swap
I haven't been able to start the car since I did a cluster swap a few days ago. Both my keys fobs are adapted so it's not the immobilizer. I'm not even sure if this has anything to do with the cluster swap, but it seems like too big a coincidence for my car not to start all of a sudden. I've done a cluster swap before on my TDI and didn't have any issues.
Fuel pump primes when I open the door, I have spark, and I've done a throttle body alignment but it won't start.
Measuring Block 022 under instruments shows that everything should be fine as far as the cluster swap
With the new cluster adapted, VCDS is supposed to show the car's VIN and immobilizer ID under the first extra field in the instruments address. The immobilizer ID shows up correctly, but three characters in the middle of the VIN show up as ZXX for some reason:
It does show the full VIN and immobilizer ID under Engine> measuring block 081 though.
I even put the original cluster back in the car and it still doesn't start.
The car has a UM tune and was running great before this happened.
VCDS shows no fault codes.
Golf IV R32 :: How To Change Instrument Cluster Language
I am looking into buying a used R32 and as I drove it, a warning came up on the instrument cluster that the door was ajar and it was german text. Is this something that all R32s have? Or is it possible to be changed?
I tried searching but couldn't figure out the proper search terms. I'm not sure I'd even want to change it as the german is pretty cool. Just wondering if this was something that was changed by someone at some point or something screwy with the car's computer.
Also, I know the MKV says what number your car is /5000 on the steering wheel. The MK4 doesn't show that but is that number on the car somewhere?
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Cluster Is Not Working / Sometimes No Gauges Or MFA
So I have been having issues with a cluster in a car I recently bought. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes no gauges or MFA, sometimes just no gauges. All of the dummy lights work, and the odometer has power, although it does not seem to record miles when the cluster is not working.
I checked for power, good. Looked in the Bentley for grounds, there are 3. Terminal 9&24 and a sender ground, terminal 7. 9&24 both show continuity, but I get zilch on the sender ground. Tried looking in the wiring diagrams and google but I cant figure out what a sender ground is or if it should have continuity?
Next step is to try another cluster, but I don't want to go through the trouble of switching it to a new cluster if the ground is bad.
Scratches From Windshield Wipers On Driver Side
I failed my vehicle inspection today because I have scratches left over from some old windshield wipers on the driver's side. I didn't own the car when this happened. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a new windshield, and the scratches aren't that deep at all (I ran my finger over the entirety of the scratch and barely felt it). I'm scared to go to any windshield repair shops because I feel like they'll lie and tell me the only choice is to replace my windshield (which I can't afford). I attached some pictures. I was thinking maybe a buffer or some type of gel?

Prius V :: Scratches And Gouges In Cargo Area
I've had my v for about a year and I find that I have many scratches and gouges especially in the cargo area. The plastic seems much easier to damage than any car I've ever had. I'll need to be especially careful in the future. But I would like to find a way to cover up, seal or patch the damages.
View 1 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: Scratches On The Rear Spoiler
Every car has its "Persian flaw," but this one irks me. A bird pooped on the car (in several places), and I always addressed the problem by laying wet paper towels over the mess to "pre soak" and then I could wipe it away without damaging the finish underneath.
Well, this time, a bird must have had a healthy diet of grit because that poop acted like sandpaper and put nice scratches into the finish before I could stop what I was doing.
It's not that obvious, but it bothers me. I don't want to attempt to buff out or polish out the scratches without knowing what WILL do the job right. I don't want to make a bigger mess trying to fix it.
