Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: F250 V10 - Raise The Front Or Lower The Back?
I bought my first vehicle last October, a '99 F-250 with a 6.8 V10. I later found out (AFTER hauling a big load of rocks in a dump trailer) that one of the bottom leaf springs was broken. So this winter I have been thinking on what I want to do about it when it warms up. This is pretty much on top of the "to do" list for my truck. I did make a thread about putting 1 ton springs under it, but I think I'll just stick with the regular 3/4 ton springs. So now this is where I have another question, and I think this pic will tell some of it:
Now I'm not sure if those rear springs are stock, but that rear end is way the heck up there! The truck itself is not level, the front looks to be correct height, but not the back. A buddy at school and I were talking about a leveling kit for the front. But the more I look at it, I think the rear end should come down. I don't want to get bigger tires, as I just put brand new Transforce AT's on the back and plan to put new ones on the front in the near future.
Another question of mine is, would this have been a truck ordered just for pulling a camper? It has holes for a fifth wheel hitch in the bed, the rear end sits high, and it didn't come with a tow package. The PO told me that he put the receiver hitch on it. I'm fixing up stuff on it one thing at a time. Springs just happen to be next on the list.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Replacing Rusted Bed Support Rails?
I recently bought an 05 F250 CC SB. One or more of the bed support rails is rusted and the front one (right behind the cab) is bad enough that I can move the bed up and down with my hand. I've read several threads on a few forums about replacing them and I'm wanting to do it myself.
One other thread I read on this forum (link) gives a pretty straightforward outline of how he successfully did it and even gives dimensions for the rails he made. I'm thinking of doing pretty much the same thing, but he didn't mention the gauge/thickness of metal that he used. I read about the Dorman replacement kit, but they don't mention gauge either.
Golf/GTI VI :: Creaky / Popping Lumbar Support On Driver Side
I just picked up a 2011 Golf TDI a week ago and so far, I love it! I have about 600 miles on it now and I have noticed that the driver's side lumbar support is very stiff to turn compared to the passenger side. It is also making a creaking noise when it is adjusted and I can feel the seat compress slightly when I put pressure on it (say, when I shift gears or move positions) and it also makes noise when doing so.
Just wondering if this is a common problem, if there is an easy fix, or should the dealer take care of it. My thoughts right now are to take it right back to the dealer and let them deal with it.
Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Any Way To Lower Back Seats From Inside Of Cab?
I was rear-ended this morning, and can't get into my trunk. Is there anyway to lower the seats from the inside of the cab to get my stuff out? It will probably be at least a week before it gets repaired, and I don't want to have to tie down my trunk.
I am impressed on how my vehicle handled the accident. It doesn't look bad, and I didn't feel much, but it tore up the whole rear end. At least $5k damage.
Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Clunk From Back-end Noticeable At Lower Speeds Going Over Bumps
I have a clunking sound coming from the back end. It is most noticeable at lower speeds going over bumps. I can also make the clunk happen by grabbing the top of the right rear tire and rocking it. I can feel something moving while I am doing this, but I can't pinpoint it. The bushings seem to be in good condition. The left rear wheel bearing was replaced recently. I also have an intermittent brake pulsation which feels like a warped rotor. I don't think it is actually the rotor, because it doesn't happen every time I apply the brakes. I believe that these two things are related. Is it possible for the rear struts to cause these issues?

I have been adjusting to my newly bought 08 prius that has 191,000 miles on it. I don't have a lot of historical service data on it but I had it looked over by a mechanic and all it all its in great shape for the miles. Now focusing a bit on the inside I feel the driver's seat is a bit uncomfortable.
View 2 RepliesSubaru Outback :: 2003 - Uncomfortable Car Seats?
I sold my older 03' Subaru Outback a few months ago and bought a 2013 Outback, 2.5 premium model. I really like a lot about the car, everything, except....the seats. When I test drove it, I noticed right away, that the seats were different, harder, a bit shorter. I thought, well, I'll get used to it. I haven't. I am always playing with the buttons to adjust the seat, and there are lots of ways to do so. I just don't feel comfortable.
I drove it for about 2 hours straight, and came out with a cramp down my entire driver leg. I am quite frustrated, I feel like maybe I should just sell the car, and get something else, but there is no guarantee that the new car will feel better. Is there anything that I can do to make the seat more comfortable. It's hard, and short, and I feel if there was not this hard cushion behind me, and the seat was about an inch longer, I could live with it.
Camry 2012+ :: Lower RPM Electric Motor Noise Coming From Underside Of Back
Last night when I went out into the garage, I heard the sound of a small, lower RPM electric motor. After walking around a bit, I found it coming from the underside of the back of the Camry. I got in and turned the key to the "on" position and it went away. The car had been parked for about 5-6 hours. I've never heard this noise before.
View 6 RepliesCamry 2012+ :: Hard And Uncomfortable Driver Seat
I have the I4 SE Limited Edition in Blizzard Pearl. I bought the car in November 2012.
Now that I have been driving the car for about 3 months, the driver seat is taking a toll on my back.....
I have tried adjusting the seat repeatedly and constantly. Feels like every day. Seat feels hard as if I am sitting directly on the metal plates beneath the cushion. I have tried sitting in the passenger side to compare and I don't feel the same. Then again the passenger side does not have any adjustment controls or metal plates to tilt the seat cushion and it also feels as if it has a thicker cushion padding.
The cushion on my driver seat feels thin - I feel as if i am sitting right on the metal plates that tilt the seat. My wife thinks all of the seats are 'Too Hard'. I think that is more of a 'New' issue. But feeling like I am sitting on a metal plate.
I have an open complaint to the Toyota Care and they reached out my dealer. I will be bringing the car in to see what they say. I am guessing, they will say there is nothing wrong with the car. My next steps will be to look at other trims like the LE and the XLE to see what the driver seat feels like and maybe look to switch out the seat(s) somehow if there is no resolve.
Lexus ES 2007-12 :: Passenger Seat Belts Tightens Up / Uncomfortable
The passenger seat belts on my 2011 do not 'give' a little. When someone shifts in their seat, the belt tightens up (allowing little to no movement)...almost to the point of being uncomfortable. Is this normal/expected behavior? Or do I need to have them looked at?

View 1 RepliesCorolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: On Long Drives, Seats Become Uncomfortable
I have a base model 2009 Corolla and I find that on long drives (anything over an hour) the seats become incredibly uncomfortable. I have developed back pain I did not have before I bought the car. My wife drives an 05 corolla and I have no problems with it (even on 5 hour drives) so I can only assume that Toyota cheap out on the newer generation's seats. I have tried many different cushions, lumbar supports, and seat heaters, but none of them work all that well. Adjusting the seating position does not work either. I installed cruise control and while that worked a bit, it was no solution.
View 14 RepliesFord Excursion :: Back End Lower Than Front And Drops Dramatically While Towing - Spring Swap On A Lift
So this may be a really dumb question, but here goes. I have a new to me 2001 v10 gas 4x4 ex. It has obviously been lifted in the past. The springs seem totally shot as the back end is quite a bit lower than the front and drops dramatically while towing. I am adding a helwig and have a wd hitch but have not set it up yet. So my question is can i do the spring swap? It would seem that i would need to address whatever changes are made from the stock ride but im not sure. I like the current lift and would be fine keeping it and adding the lift from the new springs.
View 14 RepliesPassat (B6) :: Lumbar Support Can't Deflate?
I can move the lumbar support up or down, but I can't deflate it & it's quite the pain. First off, is it an air bladder or a cable? I could really care less if it ever works again as long as I could get it to relax/deflate, is there a cheap/easy way to do it?

My motor is still working fine. How to change the support bars in the RX? I think those support bars are hydraulic.
View 11 RepliesFord F-150 - 1997-2003 :: Radiator Support Replacement?
So the story goes like this, my teacher was trying to scrap a truck that he had sitting on his farm so i got it. I've been using it for a DD for the past year and a half and not I'm starting to do rust repair starting with rocker panels. But, what i was really wondering is how involved would it be to replace the radiator core support? Main reason being last time i was under the hood replacing the pass side valve cover gasket i hit it and knocked a hole right through it so yeah I'm thinking is about time to replace it.
