Golf IV R32 :: Rubbing Noise When Going Straight Or Turn Left
So, I put my RCs with Eagle F1 DSG3s back on and now I have noise. I thought there was some rubbing, so I spaced them out tonight, but the noise is still there. I thought it could be my alignment, so I got an alignment, still noise.
It happens when I'm going straight and when I turn left, but not at all when I turn right, things get quiet. It sounds like a a rubber rubbing noise but i took the wheel off and I couldn't see any wear... Could it just be tire noise??
Golf IV R32 :: Steering Wheel Slightly Turn Left When Straight?
I've ignored it long enough and dont remember if it was like this when I bought it from the second owner...guess I had too much fun during the test drive. Any ways would it be an alignment issue up front or what?
View 8 RepliesPassat (B6) :: Shimmy Between 65 And 80 - Steering Wheels Slightly Tilted To Left When Driving Straight
My car has a little bit of a shimmy between 65 and 80, can feel it more when changing lanes slowly, after 80 slows down to almost nothing and by 100 is gone. Road force and high speed balanced, new set of tires (Mich. PS2) still does it. One more detail, the steering wheels is slightly tilted to the left when driving straight, anything to do with this? I'm suspecting the rotors too, but I only have 3,400 miles on my car.
View 8 RepliesGolf VI R :: Steering Wheel Off Center - 4 Degrees To The Left
Just got my golf R 4 door/Nav. When driving straight on the highway (regardless of road crown)... my wheel was about 4 degrees off to the left. No problem alignment wise, but the nice flat bottom wheel is cockeyed.
Car has only 330 miles on it. Took it back to the dealership, they put it on the alignment rack - actually had me sit in the car ensuring the wheel was straight as the tech adjusted the Tie Rods below.
This made it better - I instantly noticed it was better when I took a short test ride with the tech, just as they were closing. However, on the highway home I noticed its still about 2 degrees to the left. Really frustrating as now I have to take it back to the dealer a second time.
The tech actually showed me the alignment printout which was close to-but not totally perfect. Said the only way to make it perfect is to adjust the sub-frame? Really? on a new vehicle.
I do have plans to mod the car's suspension with H&R Coilovers - but will not touch anything until I get this wheel thing square and I am 100% satisfied.
Golf VI R :: Alignment Way Off - Steering Wheel Is Turned Left When Car Is Straight
Took delivery of car and alignment is way off. Steering wheel is turned left when car is straight. The dealership is trying to charger me for a alignment. Car has 2500 miles on it and came from factory this way.
View 8 RepliesGolf IV R32 :: Moaning Noise When Making Left Lane Changes And Going Straight
I've been having this moaning noise coming from either my wheel bearings or something else. I'm not quite sure what exactly it is, but it's real bad when I'm making left lane changes and going straight. when I turn right, or lane change right, it's silent.
View 5 RepliesElantra XD (2001-06) :: Wheels Screeching When Turn All The Way To The Left
Just got my timing belt replaced along with the accessory belts and the water pump. I noticed that now my wheels screech when i turn the wheel all the way to the left. This happens mostly when i am pulling in or out of parking spots as that is the only time i need to turn my wheel all the way. I also noticed that when i first turn on my car for the first time in the day, i have high rpms. The rpm returns to normal after i put it in reverse or drive. I didn't have this problem before.
View 5 RepliesSonata NF (2006-10) :: Clicking Noise From Front Left Side When Sharply Turn The Wheels Or Hit The Brake
I have a problem with the steering. Sometimes a clicking noise is coming out from the front left side when I sharply turn the wheels or hit the brake. The car was in a local garage today and they couldn't find the problem. 2 mechanics checked the suspension, cv joint, axle, wheel bearing... also 1 of them driven the car and found nothing. Tomorrow I show them the clip below.

Pontiac - Vibe :: Steering Misaligned When The Wheels Are Straight
In an effort to save some money, my husband replaced the worn front brake pads and rotors on our 2009 Pontiac Vibe. He had a lot of trouble removing the old parts and did use force. Now with the new rotors and brake pads installed, the steering wheel is misaligned when the wheels are straight. There is no pull to either side when driving. What happened and what should we do?

Is there any quick fix for this? My steering wheel is slightly turned when the wheels are pointing straight. I thought a wheel alignment would fix this, but it didn't.
View 3 RepliesTrans Sport :: Steering Wheel At 90 Degrees To The Left
My son sent me a text stating "mom is driving with the steering wheel at 90 degrees to the left!". I had to get this repaired ASAP. I thought maybe a tie rod went bad and maybe went further. Steering had been off slightly to left prior.
Firestone said that when they went to check alignment, they found that the strut tower was gone. I knew it had to be on the right side. The passenger strut tower rusted through at the mid rear, and broke the spot welds, and was not attached at most of its circumference. Fortunately, the body shop that repaired our van from a prior damage.(hit at stoplight). I replaced the struts about a year or two ago with quick struts. Did not even think of checking for this rusting issue.

View 17 RepliesLexus IS 2014+ :: Steering Wheel Had To Tilt Left To Go Straight
The leather on my steering wheel was peeling off and I brought it up to the dealer and out of their goodwill, they decided to replace it with a completely new one. Props to the dealer. However this is where all the problems start to occur. I drop off the car This past Sunday and pick up a loaner. I get a call the next day saying my car is ready. So I get there and everything seems good.
There's an open road that I like to take home but this is where I noticed something weird. When my steering wheel was level, the car was veering right.. I had to tilt the steering wheel a little left to go straight . I call the dealership right away and they tell me to bring it back. So I do that and pick up another loaner.
Following day , I go back to the dealership and they tell me they fixed the alignment. Now everything is good! I was yet again wrong. When I got home, I noticed my steering wheel was weird.
So taking the car back tomorrow to get this fixed! Still props to the dealer for giving me a brand new steering wheel..
Buick :: 1999 - Steering Pulling To The Right / Had To Steer To The Left To Go Straight
99 Buick, 170xxx miles. Pulled to the right, so much so that I had to steer to the left to go straight. After getting a 4 wheel alignment, it drives straight and I can't feel it pull while holding the wheel, but if you let go of the wheel it veers to the right. What I should check? Is is possible the tires are causing this?

View 2 RepliesIS F (2008-2014) :: 2011 Car Has Distinct Pull To Left When Driving On Flat Straight Road
My car has a distinct pull to the left when driving on a flat straight road. If I let go of the steering wheel the wheel actually turns about 5 degrees left of centre and the car goes in that direction.
Had an alignment from lexus edinburgh last year and again from another garage yesterday,
Still pulls and I have to physically hold the steering wheel centre when driving.
Car is 2011 IS F UK
Attached is my alignment spec from yesterday, Is it the caster issue as this can't be adjusted? If it is what's required?
Ford Escape / Hybrid :: 2002 - Grinding Sound When Traveling Straight Or Turning Left
2002 XLT 3.0L 4X4
Making a grinding sound when traveling straight or turning left. Any turn to the right (even the camber of the passing lane) and there is no grinding sound so I figured it was the drivers side wheel bearing. Replaced it yesterday.... symptoms are still there.
Tight left/right turns don't result in the popping/snapping of a bad CV joint so I don't think that's it.
I don't think it's transmission related since shifting is good and the grinding is not throttle related. Besides, turning shouldn't have an effect on the sound if it was something in the transmission, right?
