Camry :: Dent In Subframe In Front Of Passenger Side Rear Wheel
I was under my car the other day and i noticed this dent in the rear of the subframe, just in front of the passenger side rear wheel. I didn't see damage anywhere else. Is this something I should be concerned about?
View 3 RepliesGolf/GTI VI :: 2013 TDI - Subframe Clunk Just Won't Go Away
So I've been chasing this subframe clunk for some time now and have hit a wall on what I can do to stop it. Order of "fixes" :
-retroque bolts
-buy install audi bolts
-buy install TyrolSport kit
-replace every main subframe bolt with ARP bolts
Every time the clunk kept getting quieter or nonexistent but then someone comes back. Like right now I have the subframe collars installed and ALL 6 bolts are ARP. Clunk was gone for about a month and now its back, quiet but still driving me nuts.
What I can do? My next try is new strut tower bushings and bearings as people say that can cause a clunk. just weird how I will mess with the subframe and noise will go away then slowly come back, making me think its not the bushings. It appears to come from passenger side but anything is possible.
Golf/GTI VI :: Front Subframe Hits The Ground
Car is on airlift slam xl and on a set of bbs style 5's 17x8 et20 with 195/40 all around. problem is the front subframe hits the ground already before it completely airs out so i got some front tires still showing in the front.
View 1 RepliesGolf V R32 :: Steering Wheel - Off Centered
Every R32 I test drove - had the wheel off center / Top Center about at 11:00 while driving on straight roads. Small issue but drives me nuts. Used to be a DSM for Subaru years ago, and all Sub's came as straight as an arrow.....this was actually a big deal for them.
Maybe this is like the Driver's side wiper - all the same.
Golf V R32 :: Front Subframe Shutter While Creeping Forward Or Backward?
Have this issue when creeping forward or backward. If I did not know better I would think that I had a broken motor mount. When I creep forward or backward I can feel and hear the entire front subframe shutter just a little. It gets a little worst when everything is warmed up.
If you have had this, what did the dealer or you do to resolve? Until now I have decided to just deal with it. I have about 9k on the clock.
Golf/GTI VI :: Slight Vibration, Seems The Wheel Wasn't Centered
I put some 10mm hubcentric spacers from Avenue Autosport on the front of my car and got some slight vibration like the wheel wasn't centered very well. I decided to take them off to make sure they were the source of the vibration, and the car seems to ride a bit better/smoother in general without them (and the vibration when away).
I noticed that they didn't fit as tightly as my 15mm ECS spacers that I have in the rear, and my question is: are these spacers crappy in some way and I should order 10mm spacers from ECS, or are spacers in general not a great idea for the front wheels if you want your car to feel perfectly smooth and tight.
Golf IV R32 :: Hard To Shift - In Neutral Shifter Is Centered To Right?
Decided to see if any of you fine gentleman could offer some insight into my shifting problems. OK so here it is. I have a short throw shifter and it shifts perfectly at lower RPM's ( under about 3k) anything over that and I have to somewhat force it into gear. I also noticed that when in neutral the shifter seems off centered to the right about an inch roughly. I had the R into VW for some other work recently and they said it was prob the short throw itself so I ordered a new one which should be here tm. Hopefully that will take care of this problem

I just had a new downpipe installed and now I am getting a horrible scrapping noise when coming off a dead stop. I got under the car and looks like the downpipe is touching subframe heat shield. My question is should i take it back and have them make some clearance or is there a quicker solution. New downpipe and subframe heat shield.
View 2 RepliesCamry :: Subframe Shifted To The Right About An Inch
I have a slight problem, my subframe has shifted to the right about an inch. Now, the problem with that is that I need it moved back into place. How to get this work done. I'm assuming maybe an alignment shop, but idk.

2011 toyota camry LE I4 61k miles never been in a wreck. The car is squirrely as heck on the freeway and after two alignments and a trip to the dealer the slight pull to the right has turned into a fairly hard pull to the left and an off center steering wheel. Its not so much a pull as the car wanders and has ZERO center feel to the steering making it really a chore to drive.
View 2 RepliesPassat (B7) :: Front Suspension Popping Noise (Subframe?)
So I'm coming from the MK5, MK6, & CC/B6 Passat world. On those cars, they were notorious for having the front subframe "clunk" noise. The suframe would shift back & forth, creating a "clunk." This was VW's fix: [URL] ....
Anyways....I've noticed this about 5 times now I'm on my '13 Passat V6.....when I go to back up into a parking spot. And that's the ONLY time it's done it too.
Going from Drive, I put it into Reverse and then turn the wheel a little (NOT even all the way) and hear a "pop" or creak/clunk....definitely from the front. So my guess is that it's the subframe shifting. Only 400 miles on the car too, btw.
Passat (B6) :: 2007 - Noise From Driveline Or Subframe Bolts?
2007 Passat 2.0T, 48,000 miles
Essentially, I get a clunky/pop/crinkle sound from beneath my feet in the driver's side footwell. This sound/feel occurs when I either get back on the gas after slowing down but before the car fully stops or if I take my foot suddenly off the accelerator without touching the brake.
VW told me after three tries that the "noise is from the driveline changing directions, making some noise because loads are changing on the driveline when going from deceleration to acceleration" and that it was normal.
I have seen some posts about the subframe bolts either being faulty or worn on this site and other VW sites...
Lexus IS 2014+ :: Backup Camera Off Centered
I noticed that the backup camera on my IS is off centered. The distance shown between my car and the object behind it is fine. The sides are the problem!
When the 2 side lines on the screen suggest that I'm centered, I am actually closer to the left than the right side. I always turn my head when backing up anyway, but noticed this issue from day 1.
Camry :: 2004 - Steering Wheel Not Centered
I have an '04 Camry that pulls to the left. I've tried many things to fix it- switching wheels/tires (back and front switch, left to right switch, completely different set of wheels/tires), I've done two different alignments (everything is perfectly straight), and it still pulls left. I searched the forums and read something about a zero point reset, but when I took it to a Toyota certified mechanic he said there is no zero point reset on the '04.
Whatever it is I'm fairly sure it is a problem with the steering column- the steering wheel wants to center a little left of TDC and I have to pull it right slightly to drive straight.
Tiguan :: 2015 - Steering Wheel Being Off Centered
Bought a 2015 Tiguan Comfortline with appearance package (SE) in August, the car is currently under 2000 KM, I am already having this insane vibration though the steering wheel on highway.
First thing I noticed when I got the car is the steering wheel being off centre just by a little bit, need to hold it a little to the left to drive straight, but I am not overly concerned since the car tracks straight, never took it on highway with stocking rims and tires, and recently I bought another set of winters(rims plus tires) and shop balanced, and installed them myself torqued to 88 feet lbs with cross pattern. Found the steering wheel to vibrate on highway speed, starts at 90km/h (55mph), and get worse as speed increases, one late night I even tried to push the car to 140 km/h (87 mph), and the vibration didn't stop. I could only feel the vibration through hands, but can't visually see the vibration, I does make the car feel unsafe to drive at high speed.
First thing I did was to take the car to another shop to balance, and the tire shop told me He did balance all 4 but the machines only had very minor readings in the weight and they could just be the dirt inside of the rims.
I also checked the tire pressure, all 38 psi to spec.
The vibration seems to be only speed sensitive, doesn't relate to RPM according to my test drives late night.
Now I regret not taking the car on highway with the stock tires, its snowing here already and would be pretty unsafe to put the all seasons on and drive on highway to test it out.
Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: Steering Wheel Not Centered
Why the center of the instrument cluster ( tachometer and speedometer ) sits slightly to the left of the center of the steering wheel? Just a bit odd.

I already paid deposit to a dealer to buy a 2012 RX350. But I just noticed there are lots of rust on the subframe and attached components at the the underside of the vehicle. I made a video, but I could not upload it due to the size of the file. I uploaded some pictures for you to see. One rust spot is on the real frame. Or there is no way to clean up the rust because the rust are already there? The mileage of the vehicle is 81,000 KM)?
View 11 RepliesLexus GS 2013+ :: Steering Wheel Won't Lock In Centered Position
Well, up until a week ago, I had a 2013 GS F sport, and I believe that the steering wheel on that car was able to lock in a perfectly centered position when parked and turning the vehicle off (and then opening the door and moving the wheel slightly so that it clicked).
However, I just picked up a 2015 F sport last week and am finding that its steering wheel will only click into its locked position at about 10-15 degrees to the left or right of center (a little before the 11 or 1 o'clock positions, respectively). It does this, despite the fact that I park the car and open the door while the steering wheel is perfectly centered. I must then turn it those extra degrees before it clicks and it then stays off-center.
Shouldn't the steering wheel on my new car be able to lock on the center position? Or am I just imagining that my 2013 was able to do this? The steering itself seems to be fine, but just want to make sure nothing is wrong here.
