Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Headlight Switch Is On / Off
So my headlight switch is literally On/Off. I disabled the DRL by folding down the pin inside. But I am replacing my headlights with a custom projector housing with HID lows, halogen highs, LED Fogs, and CCFL halos, so I'd like the ability to turn on just parking lights or just the fog lights to show off the Halos etc. If I pick up a Bora Switch that has these features, will I have to re-wire/run through fuse box, etc.

I keep getting a warning that my right front headlight is out when it is working just fine. I will turn the car off and when I turn it on again the warning is gone. It's weird that it will show up then disappear for a week and then pop up again. If the light was going out I'd understand but the light has been fine the whole time.

The other day my passenger headlight went out. Today I went to replace it, after much frustration I pulled the bumper and the headlights. I first tried swapping ignitors to see if that was the issue. I went to switch the ballast and now nothing is working except for the passenger high beam. I made an apportionment with the steelership. But I wanted to see if there was anything I maybe able to do to avoid this.

Yesterday my drivers side headlight was real dim and it was like a purple hue, today it is completely out and I got the light warning on the dash. My R has 23K on the odometer.

The LED strip on my headlights stays on all the time on my 2010 golf. Ignition off, headlight switch off, keys out, car locked. Everything!
So far I've been able to trace the problem back to the stock wiring harness that plugs into the back of the headlight. I'm getting a constant 12v from one of the wires on the harness.
Any relay that the headlights are connected to or where I can find it?
Golf V R32 :: Auto Headlight Mode Always On
Every time I put it on auto the lights are always on. I heard some cars had the light sensor not activated at the factory. My question is can i just do it myself or have someone do it over a vag-com? I don't want to take it to the dealer if its an easy fix [IMG] [URL] ....

I have a set of OEM HID's. I noticed that thesignal lights blinked in double time when I had them installed. Only one of the signals out of the two in each headlight blink however. A friend told me that the reason the HID's had 2 blinkers per headlight is because the HID's are so strong they require both signals to work to overcome the headlights. For those of you that have OEM HID's, do both your signals work? Being that mine don't, do you think that is the cause of my signals blinking in double time?

Golf/GTI VI :: Something From Headlight Clunk Out Of Car When Hit A Bump?
So I driving home from an day trip in rural OK today and while driving on an unfamiliar road I hit a bump (or to be more accurate two bumps). Now I'm not going to lie my butt did leave the seat however my car did not bottom out and I didn't see it as all that major of an event. However I stop at the next stop sign and turn the corner and I hear something clunk out from the bottom of the car so I stop and pick it up.
This is what I found in the road. I look it oversee "hella" on it and realize its from my headlights, shrug my shoulders and drive home. Once I get home i open the hood and this greets me

The only thing that kept this one from falling out is a lack of a hole.
Should I be treating this as a fluke and just put them back on? Maybe someone in the factory didn't tighten them enough? Or should I take the car to the dealer as is and mention it?
Golf IV / Jetta IV :: Headlight Not Working When Switched On
I have an 01gti glx and my headlights are not working when i turn my headlight switch on. They work just fine when i release the ebrake just not working with the switch! I checked the fuses under the dash and all were good.

So I bought a set of Phillips XTreme Vision bulbs for my GTI VII S. Problem is that I cant seem to open the rear housing of the headlight on the drivers side to gain access to make the switch. The gearbox is right behind and there is barely room to get my hand back there. Is there some trick I am overlooking?

I replaced some TYC OEM headlights on my car with stock OEM Hella headlights and cleaned up the lenses really nice.
Once installed, I went to adjust the headlights to find out that the passenger outer adjustment just spins.
This is the one in the photo:
I am not too sure if I can fix this. The little wheel doesn't seem like it can be removed and it has some back and forth play on it.
Need to successfully repaired headlight adjustment?

Yesterday, I installed H&R Sport Springs and then Last night, I notice my HID headlight is dimmed downward to the ground. Do I have to use VAGCOM to make the adjustment?
