Prius V (Audio/Electronics) :: Bluetooth Audio Connecting / Loading - How To Default Maps Setting
Everytime, I get into my V I play my various podcast (via iPhone). However, its takes about a minute (as compared to my wife's RX which connects instantaneously). Why it takes such a long time? Bluetooth is always on and its be "paired".
Also, when I turn off audio, the screen simply shows blue screen with "audio off". Is there a way that I can always default to the map screen instead of going to apps --> maps --> show map? Not a biggie, but a nice to have for me.
Gen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2005 - Connecting Digital Music Player
I want to connect my digital music player (a Cowon iAudio 9) to my 2005 Prius (with JBL stereo and NAV). I want better sound than a cassette adapter or FM transmitter, and ideally I'd like to control it via steering wheel buttons and Prius touchscreen (and to see track info on it).
View 7 RepliesGen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Two Locations Input On Nav System Is Possible?
2007 Prius and I would like to enter a specific location such as the name of a restaurant vs HWY 90 South. Is this possible?
Some times I mark a location and it does state the name of the place but usually it's a generic state highway that is mixed up with a lot of other like I-40 E etc.
Gen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2005 JBL Sound System - Connecting IPhone To Stereo
2005 Prius with Premium JBL sound system with CD Changer, tape Deck, etc. package 6 with Navigation.
Since it's a 2005 no USB input for my iPhone 4s to play music. I often stream pandora or music that's stored on my phone.
So far I have been connecting my iPhone with cassette adapter to headphone jack. The audio pretty much sucks through this method and FM transmitters are even worse!
What is the best way to connect iPhone 4s to my Prius stereo? What exactly is DICE and how good is the Audio Quality?
I do not use CD change at all! Is changer connected to an Aux. input that I can switch out for a USB input?
Can I just swap out my unit for a later model with USB input? Looking for the best audio quality option.
Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2012 - IPod (nano 6th Gen) Won't Connecting To Info Screen?
Just got a new 2012 Prius II today. Got in the car with my iPod "splitter" cable adapter (on one end it has the ipod connector and on the other end is the USB & Auxillary cables), my 6th gen ipod nano, and hooked it up only to find that the Audio info was not connecting to the screen. I found that you do not need this "splitter" cable, all you need is your ipod adapter. You can use the that auxillary cable for a Walkman or something ! Glad, I figured it out the first day or i'd be pissed trying.

I would like to keep my ipod up in eye line view so that I am not looking down to change songs... I was going to buy the pro clip for the driver view, but realized I would just have a cable hanging in the middle of the car...
View 3 RepliesGen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Adding Aux Input To Factory Stereo
Is it possible? My friend just bought a 2013 model but i'm not sure what trim level it is. It has no USB or Aux input. Is the input adapter something that can be removed from a wrecked gen 3 prius and just plugged into hers and be recognized?

View 5 RepliesGen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: High-pitched Audio Interference Noise When Engine Revs Up
I don't have a Prius with a built-in bluetooth function, so I purchased the Blackberry Bluetooth Stereo Gateway that gives me audio just by plugging in my 3.5mm jack.
Unfortunately, when the car's engine revs up, I get a very high-pitched audio interference noise. This does not happen when I am connected directly into my phone.
Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Clicking / Ticking Noise Constantly Originate From JBL Audio Navigation System
Is it normal for a clicking and ticking noise to constantly originate from the JBL audio navigation system? I've noticed this noise while the vehicle is in electric mode at a full stop. The noise is also present while driving.
I checked the 4 disc cd changer and they are empty. I usually use the blue tooth system to play the music.

Gen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2008 Radio Will Go Into Uncontrollable Loud Static Blast Suddenly
I have a 2008 Prius.. All has been great except for the radio lately. In the last few weeks the radio will all of a sudden go into an uncontrollable loud static blast. I have to turn off the power to the radio in order to stop it. It continues as long as the car is running. Once turned off the radio is fine until the blast happens again. I have replaced the radio on warranty, but it still has the problem. I also have an external XM Radio attached, but I don't think that's the problem...

I have been experiencing loud popping and static/feedback sound from my front left speaker or tweeter. I replaced the jbl speaker with used jbl speaker. But it seems that my tweeter is done for as well. No sound comes out of it. Is it best just to replace it with a new jbl tweeter or are there better options that fit with not a lot of work.

I bought this today. It has to be plugged into the 12v port in order to work; it has no battery in it. BUT when I plug it into the 12v ports (i tried both), this annoying squealing noise comes from the speakers. How can I get rid of this noise completely?
View 6 RepliesPrius C (Audio/Electronics) :: 2013 - Noise / Static From Speakers
I recently bought a 2013 Prius C 3. The display audio system makes a lot of white noise when it's on - sounds like a cassette tape hiss. That's okay I guess - chalk it up to oem audio. Right?
View 13 RepliesGen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2010 - Radio Noise On AM Stations?
I Just bought my 2010 Prius and have noticed an irritating background radio static while listening to fairly weak AM radio stations. This occurs when accelerating or slightly accelerating, but almost disappears upon letting up on the throttle. Toyota has no bulletins, or answer on RF noise suppression on Gen. III models. One note, I went to my Toyota dealership & the service manager suggested I drive a new Prius to see if the noise is in a different car. He went with me, and bingo, it was noticeable in the new car. He said there was no information on it, but would check with Toyota and get back.

Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Slight Noise After Head Unit / Amp Installation
very faint but it's there. Kenwood Exelon head unit and 5chan amp. Noise varies a bit with throttle. Equipment is all decent / good quality. Is this something I have to live with as a hybrid owner? I have a short ground from the amp in the spare well area at the factory battery ground point. Have a dead silent amplified system in these cars?
View 3 RepliesGen 2 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: Static Noise By Mp3 Player While Plugged Into 12V Outlet - Solution?
Whenever I am listening to an audio device, like a phone or MP3 player, via the AUX connection, and I plug the device into a 12v outlet to charge, I get a loud buzzing noise. It matches the ICE in frequency, for example when I accelerate the static noise "ticks" increase in frequency, like it's picking up the engine cylinders firing. When the ICE shuts off, the static persists but it's not as loud.
I've used many different devices and both the console and dash 12v outlets with the same result.
I've tried many different car chargers- high quality, low quality, and even an Energizer battery charger with a USB port, but the noise always comes through.
Is there a solution for this? Or perhaps is there some "power cleaner" accessory I can purchase that isolates this noise from the outlet?
Gen 3 Prius (Audio/Electronics) :: 2010 - How To Adjust Sound Level To Compensate For Road Noise
This system has a feature that is supposed to adjust the sound level to compensate for road noise etc. I had a Ford with this feature and you could adjust the sensitivity. It worked great; adjust the volume sitting still and the volume went up and down as you traveled.
In the 2010 Prius, I have enable the feature but I cannot figure out if the sensitivity can be adjusted and I do not hear that it is working. I set the volume and start driving and as the road noise increases the sound just gets drowned out. If you turn it up, when you slow or stop it just blasts loudly; no adjustments at all.
