GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: 2003 - Headlights Going Out Repeatedly
I have probably had problems with my headlights and brake lights for like the longest time. I swear I change out more bulbs more than anybody I know. When one head light goes out I switch it out, only for another to go out.
Recently both head lights go out back to back so I decided to wait to change them out. And im sure my high beams are out also since i used those when i drive at night which isnt to often. I still haven't changed them out, because I dont want to spend more money on bulbs only for them to go out again.
I've probably had this problem since ive had this car. I was wondering what I should do or what i could look into to try and fix the problem. I have a 2003 VW GTI 20th Anni.
Ive had it since birth so I would like to get this problem resolved. Haven't had any major problems except for a few electrical here and there. And ive kept it serviced up to date.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Headlights / Fog Lights Don't Work?
For some reason my headlights and fog lights dont work as well as the turn signals, however the marker lights and 4ways do. The ac and fan also dont work. This all happened at once yesterday. I checked the fuses and they are fine. They must not be getting any power.

My buddys mk4 GLi headlights and signals just stopped working if he holds the stalk in position the brights will come on but that's it. The car is a 2005 GLi with a euro switch, Were going to replace the switch in a little bit, as of now all fuses seem fine.

Both the front headlights do not turn on. I checked the fuses on the side panel and they all seem fine. I removed my battery to start another car. Do not know if that is the cause for killing the front head lights. Day time running lights are not on either. Lower fog lights work.

So tonight at 8:30 I started up my car to get ready to leave work. I turned my light switch to activate the headlights and I only saw the amber light on the wall in front of me. I was worried because I need headlights in order to get home. I tried activating the fogs and turning the switch on and off but only my parking lights were working. I turned the car on and off a few times and all of a sudden the headlights finally turned on. I drove around town afterwards to run errands and the headlights were turning on just fine. What would cause this issue and I really don't want it to get to the point where I can't drive my car at night.

I started my car yesterday and noticed the headlights, A/C, defroster, turn signals were all not working. I checked the fuses and they're all fine. Checked other posts and it looks like the common denominator is the ignition switch. (Looking for pics) how to change out the ignition switch? And what is the level of difficulty?

My headlights are getting foggy and I don't feel like polishing them anymore. I had it done about year and a half ago and the yellowing is coming back.
I heard TYC replacement headlights assemblies are decent and they are cheap.
How's the fit/quality etc, specifically on gen 5s?
I am talking about straight replacement retaining the OEM function. Not into HIDs and all that stuff at all.

Checked all fuses ..Couldn't find anything in search. I assume it's a switch or relay somewhere?
Headlight switch itself works fine. Running lights turn on. Brights work.
Camry :: 2003 XLE - Foggy Headlights Replacement?
2003 xle with foggy headlights. Bought some aftermarket units.
Looking for the straight skinny on getting them out. Some have told me I have to drop the front bumper. Seems extreme to me.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Headlights / Windshield Wipers / Turn Signals / AC Fans Shut Off In Rain?
X2 nights ago at 11:45pm I was driving home from a friends house with my gf and were going about 65 on the highway and it's lightly raining, then all of a sudden my headlights, windsheld wipers, turnsignals, my ac/fans all just shut off so I had to pull over right away. After sitting there for about 15 mintues I figure out my high beams still work but only if I hold them on(clicking it on doesn't work. So I drive home and the next day check all the fuses in the drivers door and they r all fine. Everything else works in the car but the stuff stated above. My car was reposesd about a year ago when I lost my job and they put this thing I have to enter a code every month, it messed my windsheld wipers and turn signals up before but not anything else! But it still works and the other stuff doesn't, and behind the dash it sounded like crackling and smelt like burning electric right before it shut off.

The headlights on my 94' 4x4 have been kind of cloudy looking since I bought it two years ago. It's not condensation on the inside, the glass just looks like it has something on it. Is this a common problem?

I was driving at about 60mph in 4th gear and knocked it into 2nd and the rpm's hit the max and the car shut off and I have not been able to get it started. I have compression, fuel, and spark . Driving home from work, I was about 5 minutes from home, got to a light only to not be able to go into 1st. I popped it into 2nd and drove home like that pretty much. Car will let me get into reverse and all other gears.
I can put the shifter towards first but it doesn't fully go in and when I gave it gas it would let me start to creep and then grind a little and pop out.

GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Oil Is Leaking?
I've had the leak for a long time now possibly from when I've gotten it... anyway when I first bought it I drove it a lot, like 8k miles in 6 months. During that time I went through a qt of oil about every week and a half. Now the last 3 months I've been barely driving it due to life changes so I'm barely putting oil in I'll go weeks sometimes of checking the level and it'll be fine. This leak has to relate with how often its driven and maybe hot?
I've had the car up multiple times to try and find the spot all I know is it's behind the engine below the valve cover gasket and above or near the turbo area(I've only owned my first VW this 20th for less then a yr so I'm still learning)
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Won't Reverse At All
I get up to go to work today and the car runs fine, a few hours later i get back in, try to put it in reverse, and nothing.. it wont let me shift in after i push it down. So i push it back in neutral and drive away.. every gear works fine, when i got home i took off the boot, tried to see if anything was loose, shake it a few times and out of nowhere first and second give. They were working perfectly 5 min before, and now they just feel really loose, but every other gear works fine, so now I have no reverse, 1st or 2nd. Did I just knock something out of alignment or is the problem a lot worse.
