View 3 RepliesGTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Broken Vacuum Hoses Causing Misfires
so i've had my 337 for a couple months now and when i first got it i found 2 broken vacuum hoses that were causing misfires. once i got those replaced my CEL went off and seemed to be running fine other than from time to time when i started it up my idle would be around 1.2k rpms and then after a couple miles itd settle down to 750-800 rpms but it wasn't rock solid, so obviously there is still something wrong.
on my drive home tonight from work i was in the mood for some spirited driving but when i'd hit the gas i could feel some hesitation through the powerband at wide open throttle. when i got home i turned it off, and started it back up to see if it was idling funny and when it ignited the rpms jumped to almost 2k and immediately fell back down to 1.2k.
My thoughts are its either a vacuum leak again, bad/dirty maf, dirty throttle body, or a boost leak.
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Broken Glove Box Handle - Replacing The Door
Most of the info I could find recommended replacing the entire glove box, and removing the center console to do so. I found a replacement door on ECS tuning's website, but I can't find a DIY on replacing the door/lid only. Any way out on replacing the door only, are the same steps required/removing the center console and taking the entire box out, or can the ECS tuning lid be fitted without as much disassembly?

GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: 20 AE Headlight Bulb Won't Work
My headlight bulb is out on the left side. Tt's just a regular bulb, not HID's or anything. I got a new bulb and it still doesn't work. I checked the wiring and it seems intact. The other lights which are connected in the housing work fine.
View 1 RepliesGTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Headlight On Passenger Side Is Out
So I just recently purchased an HID kit for my GLI. After installing i went to turn them on and my passenger side is out. But when we tested both sides individually they both worked fine. I checked the bulb and tested it with a new one and the new one didnt turn on either. We tried 3 different ballasts and still nothing. I took it to my local shop where i bought them and they were stumped as well. We tested it for power and yes there is power getting to it. Along with all this, my highbeam light on my dash is on?

View 3 RepliesGTI 337/20th Anniversary :: 1st And 2nd Gear Shift Fork Broken On 6 Speed Trans
My 20th Ann. GTI randomly would not go into first or second (they move into place but are just limp there and not catching into the gear) I was told for replacement of new 6-speed transmission and they did not offer any alternatives beside replacing it completely.
I know there is a thread talking about this but I read about the shift fork, or a piece of the shift fork that breaks and this problem fits my exact description. Not much info on what I can do, or at least not specified. What is any cost effective way to get my gears back without completely replacing the transmission? Is there anything I can do to just replace a broken part or are there any alternatives?
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Fixing Headlight Chips In The Lenses?
Just wondering what are the different ways people are going about fixing the chips in the lenses? Mine are getting pretty bad and I was looking into fixing it myself.
Well took peoples advice for what worked and did up the headlights today. I think I didn't do enough sanding so I might do them again in the near future. They look better though I think. I took a few pics as I went for others to see and here they are
What they looked like when I started
The car
After sanding with the 600 grit
after sanding with 2000 grit
and end result
You might not be able to see the change very well but you can in person. A little more sanding next time and I think I will be good. Now time for a few
GTI 337/20th Anniversary :: Dash Blew Out While Installing Rheostat Headlight
Attempting to install the rheostat headlight leveling switch I somehow managed to blow out the entire dash lighting.
The two white wires next to the brown one touched each other and made the dash flicker on. Now it doesn't want to turn on at all. I replaced fuse 11 and 15 and that did not luck.

My passenger side headlight always seemed dimmer than the other one. It started to stop lighting up. I replaced the bulb this morning and now it will only stay on for a few minutes before turning off. The drivers side stays lit.
I will be replacing the 12 volt battery tonight because it needs to be replaced. Would that cause this to happen?
Rodeo :: 1996 Heater Core Plastic Pipes Broken?
The two hoses from the engine to the heater core plumbing at the firewall came off. The plastic piping the hoses attached to became brittle and weak from engine vibration. I tried threading 1/4" pipe threads then installing pipe nipple to which I attached heater hoses from engine-worked for a while then failed. There is very little room to work with between firewall and the engine. I'm curious to see how plastic piping goes to heater core.
View 1 RepliesPrius (2010-12) :: Plastic Spoiler Broken On Lift Gate
I forgot I had my lift gate open and backed out of the garage...crunch! Broke off the plastic air spoiler thing. It was attached with some kind of adhesive covering 5 bolt heads and a snap on grommet at each end.
I drilled out the old adhesive on the plastic panel and chipped it off the bolts. I hope I can get two new plastic fasteners at Toyota or a body shop. Question...should I just use a two part epoxy (or what else is recommended) on the bolt heads to mount it again?
Prius (2010-12) :: Clips Holding Plastic Cover Broken?
