Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Rear Driveline Vibration At All Speeds
On my 07' I bought it home mid AUG. It has been getting much worse to a point there is a rear driveline vibration at all speeds above 40 and up to 70. I used to change intensity whether you are on or off the gas, and would almost vanish if in neutral. However now it is all the time.
I cannot feel any play on the u-joints, the yoke has a little play in the xfer case but is is normal like on most other trucks I have owned, and the pinion flange is nice and tight. Could this be **tight** ujoints or the driveshaft itself? It looks rusty, but there are no dents on it.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Vibration And Noise At Highway Speeds
First, details about my truck. 2007 F150 SuperCrew, 2wd, 5.4, 203,xxx miles on it, leveled with Hell Bent Steel 2.5" kit last year, has been aligned professionally since then, tires are good and balanced.
The issue I have is a vibration, kind of the same feeling when driving on a road surface that has had the top level of asphalt removed before it's resurfaced. It's mostly noticable at highway speeds. Its not a violent type vibration, but you can feel it. There is also a sound, similar to tires with a deep off road type tread.
The sound and vibration more noticeable when making lane changes or when wheel turned towards left, at highway speeds, not as much to the right. I've checked front wheel bearings, they are good, zero play, no loose suspension parts, u-joints are good, no leaks anywhere.
Since it makes the noise and vibration a bit more when moving wheel, could it be a power steering pump? The pump is the original.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Vibration Between 40 - 45 And 52 - 62 Speeds
I recently had u joints and left front wheel hub assembly replaced at a local mechanic. Ever since I have a vibration between 40-45 and 52-62, the vibration can be felt in the steering wheel, the seat and the floor. The mechanic claims I need a new driveshaft as some of the counter weights were starting to rust. I indexed and removed the drive shaft and had it rebalanced at a local machine shop. This did not solve the vibration problem. There is also a transmission leak starting from the extension housing. How I can start to trouble shoot the problem. 04 F150..
View 2 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: Vibration At Speeds Of 15 - 30 Mph
I have had a 2004 Extended Cab F150 5.4L for a few months now. It just started vibrating at speeds between 15 and 30mph on accelerating or deceleration. Doesn't matter if I'm turning or going straight, just those speeds. It's fine otherwise. I put it in gear and held the brake down and brought the rpms up to 3000 to see if it would shake with a load, thinking a possible misfire, but nothing abnormal.
It's an automatic transmission. I started off in 1 and 2 and it seems to lack power until it shifts to 3rd gear - which is about 30mph. It also seems to lack power in reverse ... no slipping, but seems to have to give a lot of gas in order to go over the slightest incline backing up.
Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2008 - Vibration At Various Speeds
I'll try to keep this brief. I bought a 2008 Sante Fe AWD 7 passenger 1st week of Sept 2008 from Jim Pattison Hyundai in Nanaimo BC. Vehicle had a pronounced vibration at various speeds but was most noticeable at around 85 kph which seemed to vibrate frame, not steering. I called service department at the dealership. They said they would look at it during the trailer hitch install in 2 weeks.
After dropping off vehicle for trailer hitch installation I mentioned problem again. Later that day I picked up vehicle and asked about vibration. I was told "mechanic didn't feel anything". Got service manager to take a ride with me, vibration now felt by service manager.
Lexus LS 2007+ :: 2008 - Slight Jiggle Or Vibration Coming To The Steering Wheel At Moderate Speeds
I'm new to Lexus ownership and have recently purchased an 08 certified LS 460 L with the air ride suspension. It's a phenomenal car, I'm now a convert to the brand. One small thing I noticed though is a slight jiggle or vibration coming to the steering wheel at moderate speeds. It is very dependent on the road surface, Seems to dissipate on the highway. Alignment was checked before delivery and feels fine and the tires themselves feel balanced. It's not upsetting, I'm just curious if this is something normal to the air ride suspension. Other than this the car is an absolute gem with only 35,000 miles.
View 4 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Ticking Sound At Highway Speeds
I have a 2007 F150 King Ranch Super Crew 5.4 3v and it makes a ticking sound. I have read about the VCT solenoids and the phasers. My issue is that the ticking noise can be heard at Highway speeds. At it seems to be quicker as the engine speed increase. Not sure what to think. No rough idle. What could this be.
View 3 RepliesFord F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Intermittent Rough Idle At Low Speeds When Engine Is Warm
Still showing the same codes (per repairman) and still having the intermittent rough idle at low speeds when the engine is warm. It has been so intermittent that I could almost live with it.
So repair guys first replaces the VCT's and runs fine until warmed up and the problem reoccurs with the same codes. He replaces both cam phasers and tensioners today and still same problem and same codes which point to the VCT and cam phasers.
Truck has 80k, city driven, oil changed every 3k or so. Burns ethanol and still runs great at speeds over 10 mph even when this problem appears.
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Front End Bounce / Thump On One Side At Slow Speeds?
2007 Ford Fx4 with 6 inch suspension lift. Just rebuilt front suspension. I Had bad upper ball joints and one of the hubs was bad. Also had a bad tie rod end on one side. The tires began to wear excessively on the inside and quickly degraded.
I figured since I was in there, I would just change everything. I replaced upper control arms, lower ball joints, stabilizer bar links, strut assemblies, and inner and outer tie rods on both sides. Obviously everything is much better. But...
On test driving and running short errands near the house, it seems like I can still sense a slight thumping/clunking or bounce from the right side at slow speeds at times. It is hard to describe because there isn't really a sound associated with it. It is not constant; it feels a bit like a ball joint just starting to go. I cannot identify it with any of the new parts, they all check out and nuts are tight, etc.
I have not gotten an alignment yet. Getting new tires and alignment Saturday. Tires are in pretty bad shape. But, alignment isn't too badly off and at slow speeds around the neighborhood its more of a bouncing after a road seam or when accelerating from a stop, etc.
when I was doing the work, one of the half shafts had more play than the other. It was easier to move out of the way to install the shocks and lower ball joints. I could easily bend it over past the stabilizer bar link and use the link to hold it out of the way. Is this normal? I have never owned a vehicle with IFS and CVs before. Could the bouncing/clunking be caused by a worn CV joint, even in 2wd?
Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2007 - Hard Vibration At Idle
I bought the truck last November with a bunch of issues. My most recent problem is a hard vibration at idle. No it is not the infamous misfire and stall. All timing components (chains, tensioners, guides and vct solenoids) have been replaced.
I've replaced the ignition coils, spark plugs, air filter, and fuel filter. When I'm at a stop light or just idling in the driveway I can feel the vibration in the cab through the seats and the steering wheel. I can see the drivers side mirror vibrate but not the passenger side.
I've seen posts that are saying that this vibration is normal, but it seems a but harder of a shake than normal. Would there be anything that would only affect the driver side bank and not the passenger side?
Camry :: 2007 SE V6 - Vibration In Car When Trying To Maintain Speeds Of 65 To 70 Mph
I have a 2007 Camry SE V6 with approx 170K miles. A few months ago I took my car into the dealership and they performed a service on my car that is a bit confusing. According to the invoice it is labeled: ENGINE INDUCTION SERVICE COMPLETED FUEL INDUCTION SERVICE. The description for the part is TOP ENG/INDUCT SV.Since this service I have noticed a weird vibration in the car when trying to maintain speeds of 65 to 70 mph. Also, if I were to floor it, the car accelerates rough -it shakes and jerks.
View 2 RepliesLexus LS 2007+ :: Rear End Vibration At Speeds Of 60 Mph+
My car is a 2008 LS460 SWB. I bought it with 69,000 miles on it, has about 75,000 miles now. Car has had a rear end vibration at speeds of 60 mph+ since I bought it. The vibration seems to lessen when I have a full tank of gas. So...I took it to my Lexus dealer. They put it on the lift and showed me how the two rear tires appeared to be slightly out of round and said that was probably the culprit.
I then bought winter tires and put them on. Still had a vibration. Was told to wait until I put all season tires on, then they'd start to pursue.
I put Pirelli P7s on yesterday. Seem like a great tire, but I'm still feeling a rear end vibration. All 4 wheels were road force balanced. I will be taking my car back to my Lexus dealer to see if they can diagnose. What are causes of rear end vibration. Wheels are not bent, BTW.
Lexus LS 2007+ :: Vibration Only At Freeway Speeds
I have a weird vibration only at freeway speeds. It's a vibration that lasts 3 seconds but are consistently 2-3 seconds apart. It's a very suttle vibration and can be felt at my feet and slightly on the wheel. My passengers can feel it if I mention it. The key thing about the vibration it's starts and goes away the starts and goes away?
View 14 RepliesCamry :: 2008 - Wheel Vibration At Highway Speeds
I'm having an issue with my wife's 2008 Camry. We're feeling vibration at highway speeds. Feels like it's coming from the front passenger side. We've had all 4 tires replaced (two of them replaced twice because we got lucky and the shop gave us a set of 4 for free with all the trouble we were having with the goodyear tires they sold us), and added hub-centric rings to her wheels. There are no noises to tell me whether it's a cv axle or a bearing. I've been under the car and the only thing I can find that comes close to loose is that the passenger side axle has a just a little more side to side play (runout - inner cv) than the driver's side.
View 11 RepliesChevrolet - Trailblazer :: 2008 - Vibration At High Speeds Above 60 Mph
I have a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer. I have had 4 of these vehicles and have been very pleased. This latest one has 61000 miles and occasionally has a very strange vibration at speeds above 60 mph. It only happens occasionally and most often occurs at these higher speeds and worsens with increased speed (of 70-73 mph). The vibration is so alarming, that I will press my brakes to slow down, because it feels like the vehicle is starting to lose control. The problem is that when I press the brakes, the vibration intensifies about 3-4 fold! It feel as if the wheels are going to come off. It's a very frightening feeling. I have taken it to the shop and no one seems to know what it is. The tires are fine. Brakes are fine. Interestingly enough, if I lower the speed to 50-55 mph, the vibration lessens and eventually completely goes away.
View 1 RepliesFord - Mustang :: 2004 V6 Auto - Rumble-strip Like Vibration At Speeds Between 35 - 55 Mph
I recently bought a 2004 Mustang convertible V6 auto with 180K miles to be my daughter's first car. The car has a driveability issue. It has a "rumble-strip" like vibration at speeds between 35-55 mph. This is when accelerating or decelerating. If I slip the car in neutral when driving the vibration is gone. Here is what I have done: new plugs, wires, coil. New u-joints. Front end needed a new tie rod end on right side, new transmission filter and fluid (only replacing lost pan fluid). Another thing wrong with the car (possibly related?) is that the ABS & traction control lights are stuck on indicating a system failure with the ABS.
Note that when replacing the ujoints I noted a couple of things:1- there is SOME amount of play at the transmission tailshaft bushing. It seemed excessive to me, but a local transmission shop told me that if it is not leaking fluid that it is not a problem. I did not gage the movement, but it was close to 1/16".2 - The other thing I noticed is that the universal joint for the rear yoke was a little bit stiff, meaning that it did not move as easily as I would have thought that it should. This was the case with both the old rear u-joint and the new, This indicates to me that the pinion trunnion ears are not perfectly aligned, but not sure what I should expect.
Lexus LX 2008+ :: 2010 LX570 - Vibration / Shaking At All Speeds
I'm four weeks into my 2010 LX570. From first day, I've had vibration/shaking at all speeds--the shaking/vibration is not in the steering wheel like a few others have described. The vibration/shaking is similar to what one experiences going over a railroad track in a small/lightweight vehicle, except it happens on all types of roads and at all speeds.
Two trips to two different tire installers and one trip to Toyota (the closest Lexus dealer is a couple hours for me) to speak with their Lexus-certified mechanic and it was chalked up to the Dunlop tires. The Dunlops had excessive road force (three were between 28 and 45). Three separate sessions with Lexus Customer Relations, and nearly two weeks with Lexus of Orlando (they were extraordinary, even though I did not purchase from them), all four tires were replaced with Michelins, road force balanced to less than 8 each, and the vehicle extensively tested. They bent over backwards and were exceptional. While the problem has been minimized, I still feel the vibration/shake.
I'm coming out of years with several Range Rovers, but every other vehicle I have does not vibrate/shake, from my Tundra on up. I just spent two weeks in an ES300 and it was rock solid, at half the weight and half the cost. Additionally, none of my Land Cruisers (previous generation to the current) were anything like this. The LX is a great vehicle, but the vibration/shake is a real issue.
Lexus LS 2007+ :: LS600 Steering Vibration At Low Speeds When Turning
I just bought a 2008 LS600 Obsidian with Exec package. Happy with the car except for some steering vibration at low speeds when turning. Took it to Newport Lexus...they say..."normal for an AWD LS600".
View 11 RepliesLexus LS 2007+ :: Significant Vibration At Highway Speeds For First Few Miles
Owned my 2009 for 6 months now. Ever since purchasing it, car will vibrate significantly at highway speeds when first driving it, then decrease by 90% after a few miles. At first, since I purchased in winter, thought it was cold flat spots on tires. Dealer changed tires 3 times, finally with a new set of Turanza OEM tires. Still does it.
Service manager said he drove new 460's and they all do the same thing for a few miles. I have seen other comments on internet from other owners who report the same phenomenon. Don't think it is the tires since we went through 3 sets and it still does it in the summer. What else could cause a vibration until the car is warmed up?
