Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Cruise Control Jerking

I have an 06 F150 4x4 crew cab w/ 108k miles and the 5.4 flex fuel v8. I'm getting a pretty bad jerk while using the cruise control and going down hill, seems almost like it is turning the cruise on and off rapidly while it is rolling. And if so, were you able to fix it and what was the fix? It works perfectly on level road or going uphill, just does this going downhill, very consistently. No lights on the dash, and no other issues.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Jerking Especially Under Light Acceleration

I have an 04 f150 with the 5.4 and recently, within the past few months, I've noticed some "jerking" especially when accelerating. At first, I thought it was the transmission, but the jerking does not coincide with the shift patterns. It jerks and stutters around 45-50 mph and 1500 rpms especially under light acceleration. Not sure if one is connected to the other, but also have no real power, I'm barely moving under heavy acceleration. ...What could I be looking at? I am thinking it has several options, I just need to know which one to explore first...cheap, meaning fuel pump/filter?? MAF?? Or Engine Coils?

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Jerking Under Load Like Engine Is Cutting Out

I'll try to explain what the truck is doing best I can. I'm not sure if it's the engine or tranny. When you lug the truck on a hill or put a load behind it and lug it the truck jerks like the engine is cutting out or the tranny is jerking, I can't tell which. You can drive it all day long on a flat road or small hills and you can't make it do it. It does it worse going up a hill with a load behind it. You can lug the truck on a steep hill let off the accelerator and mash it back down and it will do it almost every time. I've tried overriding the overdrive and it still does it. If you keep the rpms above 2000 up a hill it won't do it. I've had it checked by a transmission shop and they couldn't make the truck do it. Also it doesn't throw any codes or put the check engine light on when this happens. 2007 F150 supercrew 5.4 auto, with 88,000 miles.

I have a 07 with the 5.4 engine and it has started to jerk or miss sometimes when I'm pulling my trailer. I'm thinking about changing the plugs, but the dealership is telling me they will break off in the head.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: Driveline Jerking When Try To Accelerate Sometimes On Flats / Rarely On Downhill But Always On Uphill

2004 F150 FX4 5.4L. I drove from Vancouver to Edmonton and back this week and I started to get some issues. If I'm in overdrive at highway speeds, from about 90km/h to 120km/h give or take, which would be around 1600-2100rpm, and then I try to accelerate, sometimes on flats, rarely on downhills, but always on uphills, the truck will begin to jerk fore and aft. It feels like it's something through the driveline, either the driveshaft or the differential, but I really can't say for certain as I'm stuck in the driver's seat while this is happening.

If the truck downshifts or if I take it out of overdrive, i.e. getting the revs up high, the problem is no more. Other than the issue I'm having, it operates perfectly so this is very odd. I know that overdrive isn't a hill climbing gear, but normally an engine in the wrong gear will simply lug along until it's downshifted. The entire truck jerking shouldn't happen.

On my way to Edmonton, I noticed that this would cause one single, minor jerk. This is my way of describing it, but it was like the driveshaft had spun freely and then promptly re-engaged with the differential gear, causing a clunk. I doubt that's actually what happened, but I'm just trying to explain the sensation. It kind of feels like trailer jerking.

On the way back to Vancouver, it was a lot worse. Like I said, the whole truck would be jerking about once per second but there was one time that I found the sweet spot and it began jerking rapidly, twice per second. I threw it out of overdrive to stop this but the vibration caused the check engine light to flash a few times but it went away and didn't stay on.

What I might be up against? Been doing a little research. Seems as though this is common and it's supposedly the spark plugs, but those only have 50,000km on them.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2005 - Trans Fault - Jerking While Accelerating Lightly Or In Between Shifting

I have a 2005 F150 S Crew and have been maintaining it regularly. I started having a jerking while accelerating lightly or in between shifting then the overdrive light comes on and then flashes trans fault on dash. I took it to the local tranny shop who fixed the problem however about a year later it started doing it again. What the problem could be before I have to spend another bucks?

Lexus GS 2006-11 :: 2008 GS350 AWD Jerking And Hesitation At Low Speed

I just got a used GS350. At about 20-25mph, it can sometime hesitate/jerk when I am driving without much acceleration. If I press the accelerator hard, the car accelerates without much problem.

I tried searching through the forum but couldn't find same problem except maybe the LS460 [URL] ....

I have tried cleaning the MAF with CRC cleaner + resetting the ECU by unplugging the battery for 10minutes but I still have the problem. Strangely, I didn't have to recalibrate the windows after plugging out the battery, but the GPS did the long initial boot-up..

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 XLT Hard To Get Out Of 4WD Sometimes

I have a 2006 Ford 150 FWD XLT. So here is the problem. I sustained right front damage in an accident and 4WD worked prior to and after the accident (before going to the shop). Before the accident it would easily lock into 4WD but would sometimes have trouble getting out of it. When I received the truck back from the shop and went to use 4WD a week later nothing happened No lights no nothing. I tried it in neutral, drive and reverse. I took it back and they said it was the shift motor and not related to the accident so they couldn't fix it. So I just bolted a new one on and still nothing. I checked the solenoid and it appears to be working. I also checked the fuses and still nothing. The shop did replace the right front hub assembly.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 XLT Vibrates Between 50 - 60 MPH

Recently I noticed a "thunking" noise when I accelerated from a stop and a vibration between 50 and 60 MPH. For what it is worth, I baby this vehicle. I took it to the shop and had three U-joints replaced, the next day I noticed a severe vibration was still there. I returned to the shop where they kept it for two days and cannot figure out what is causing the problem.

They re-balanced the tires, checked the alignment, brakes, calipers, rotors and even had the drive shaft re-balanced (which they said was out by 30,000) and took it to a local transmission shop who said the problem is not in the transmission but it is still occurring. They finally admitted defeat and suggested I take it to the dealer. It has 149+ thousand miles on it and a 5.4 engine.

Passat (B6) :: 2006 - Car Started Jerking / Misfiring

I've been out of town a bunch and my car has been sitting out at the airport. I picked it up last friday, drove it home. Today on my way to work the car started jerking - like the engine was trying to rev slightly. When I put it in park, and listened, the engine was jerking or misfiring maybe. The exhaust was a bit louder than normal as well and i could hear the stress in it. I also smelt a strange burning smell. I've called and had roadside assistance pick it up and take it to the dealer.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - 4x4 Light Not Coming On

just picked up a high mile f-150. (146,000) 4x4 light not coming on. jumpered out the vacuum solenoid first, nothing. Then found out I could try to tap on the actuator motor at transfer case. It worked. Just wondering if i keep exercising the actuator motor, if it will continue to work, sounds like the previous owner did not put it in 4x4 for a long time. also, if needed, where is a good place to purchase the replacement actuator motor? If this truck has heated seats ( it is a lariat) , where is it controlled from? Seems to ride a little rougher than i expected. new tires, but it seems a little harsh. I have an f-350 as well. it seems to ride just about as good.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 4.6L - Hard To Start When Its Below 50F Outside

I have a 2006 4.6L that's hard to start when it's relatively cold outside.

Normally, when it's warm outside, I can barely bump the starter, and it starts right up. But when it's cold outside, it usually takes 3 or 4 2-3 seconds of cranking before it starts. Even then, it has a really rough "about to die" idle, until about 10-15 seconds, and then it idles without a problem. Once it's running, it runs great.

It has 79k miles on it, and all I've done to it is put in a throttle body spacer, and a K&N filter. I've read a few posts from people that have had similar issues, that had K&N filters, but their problems have been more consistent. Mine only seems to happen when it's first started.

As far as I know, the plugs have never been changed, as with the COPs. I've heard about a vacuum line running to the throttle body may be the culprit, but haven't been able to find any more details on that, like where the line runs to, possible replacement part number for it, etc.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Rough Idle

I have a 2006 f150 I just bought after my F250 was stolen. It has about 70k miles. It has been running pretty rough ever since I got it. It finally threw codes so I tried to address all the issues. Changed out a couple coils and all the plugs (motorcraft platinum). The camshaft sensor was also bad. Truck runs much better but still has an idle issue I cant seem to nail down.

I assume its something to do with air intake. It doesnt happen all the time. It runs rough and knocks and sometimes dies. If I give it gas it stops. I read it could be the idle air intake valve, but then I read that this model doesnt have one. I also read that air intake issues dont normally throw codes. Are there any common problems I could look for? Would cleaning the throttle body do any good?

I know the basics, but this kind of thing is tough for me to troubleshoot. You may have already seen me post this problem, but I didnt get much response so I thought I'd try one last time.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Air Conditioning Only At High RPM

I have a 2006 F150 4.6 175,000 miles in pretty good shape and well maintained. Lately, the A/C has acted weird. When I first turn it on, it blows air, but the air does not chill until I have a pretty good RPM going. Then it's fine. Once it starts chilling, it's good to go even when RPM is low (like at a red light). It's just the initial acceleration.

Fuses have been checked. I have traced this problem to everything I can think of. If my ECM is fried, why would it have worked fine before replacing FPDM? I am at a dead end.
