Ford Excursion :: 2002 - Overhead Console And Rear Heater Not Working

Wife just told me tonight that the overhead console and rear heater are not working in the excursion. Of course, we have a 3 hour drive tomorrow and it is cold outside.. The posts seem to center on either the readout not working or the heater not working, but not both. Trying to minimize time troubleshooting outside in the cold.

Ford Excursion :: Rear AC Not Working - Bad Heater Control Valve

While diagnosing a problem with my rear AC not working, I pulled the rear plenum apart. I noticed the rear heater coil was really hot even though I did not turn the heat on at all that day.

I suspect a bad heater control valve. The one that stops hot coolant from going to the core when the AC is on. I have manual temp controls so I assumen it is vacuum controlled. All data does not give me a location or vacuum routing specs for the valve so I am asking here.

1) Where do I find the heater control valve?
2) Does it shut off the coolant to both the front and rear heater cores or just the front?

Ford Excursion :: 2005 - Overhead Control Dead - A/C Control Sometime Works?

2005 Excursion Diesel Ltd

1/ The Heater/AC control, one in awhile is not Turn-On when the engine is started, manually turn it ON did not make any different, but the next time/few times the engine is started it is OK.

What is the possible problem and how can I fixed ?

2/ The overhead console is dead, not sure which fuse it belongs to so I checked/tested all the suspected fuses=OK.

What is the possible problem ?, and can it be fixed ? or take the panel apart for further testing ?

Ford Excursion :: CEL On - Overhead Console No Longer Lights Up

CEL - code escaping me but it said #7 glow plug (ordered a scantool yesterday).

Shifting - its at lowest been in the 30's and the truck has issues shifting until its warm. Its wierd, its like the water temp gauge stays at cold, then snaps up and shifting is fine from then on. Takes what I think is a long time to get there, not a gradual temp change, just like click and the gauge is on.

Lots of electrical looking issues, maybe all tied together?

- Shut doors sometimes flashers blink
- Overhead console no longer lights up
- Door ajar and overhead lights on when doors are tight
- more oddities but I can't think of them now

Ford Excursion :: How To Remove Overhead Console And Cover For Rear Seat DVD

I need to pull my front overhead console to make some changes, gonna try to mount my sirius cradle up there to get it out of the way. Can't figure out how it is fastened up there. Also, I need to pull the cover off the rear seat DVD player as I want to solder in some RCA's onto the aux in. Can't figure this one out either, and I'm afraid to break the cover.

Ford Excursion :: Heater / AC Control Panel Not Turn On Occasionally

The heater/AC control panel does not turn-on automatically after the engine is started occasionally, during this time none of the buttons are working and blank display. The only way I can get it turn back on is re-starting the engine, sometime it takes more than 1 re-start.

I thought the relay ? or the signal driving the relay has something to do with it. Where is the relay for the Heater/AL is located ?

Phaeton :: How To Turn On Overhead Lights In Rear Cabin From Driver Seat

In my 7, if I hit the roof console center light button, it would illuminate both the front of the cabin, and my accent lights in the rear cabin, allowing me to see the kids in the back at night or ensure they have light if they can't find something.

On the Phaeton, I have not yet been able to figure out how the driver can turn on the rear cabin lights. I have the lights set on to come on when the door opens, but obviously that isn't an option underway. Is there a way for the driver to illuminate the whole cabin from the drivers seat?

Ford Excursion :: How To Blow Out Rear Heater Lines

I'm 1/2 way through a flush and water pump replacement. Its going to get cold and I don't want to blow any heater lines. I have the pump off and the block drained (I also managed to get some coolant into the block - but not the rear heat).

I don't see an easy place at the front to disconnect the lines. I'd like to blow them out just to be safe. What is the best place to disco in the front or if I even need to - can I just disco 1 in the rear and then blow in both direction?

I fear that there may be some vent door closed that will prevent flow. I can't start the truck - I can turn the key on.

Ford A/C :: Replaced Front Heater Core Now No Heat In Rear

2000 Expedition. Had ford mechanic replace front heater core due to not having heat in the front and back. wife brings it home I check all vents and notice there's good heat up front but not the back, then I switch the rear from panel to floor heat and hear a thumping sound (figure the blend door is doing it) still no heat in rear. returned to ford mechanic and they stated my blender door switch is not working properly, so they flushed out rear core and instead of fixing the blender door switch they kept it on floor position and charged me another bill. could it be possible that while replacing front core the gunk made it to the rear hoses and core, and clogged it up, and damaged the blender door switch somehow. prior to my heat issues I never had any problems with the rear blender door, just no heat due to front core needing replaced according to them "FORD".

Ford Excursion :: Gauge Cluster And Climate Control Lights Out

My Gauge Cluster and Climate Control lights are out. Both still function properly. The mileage is light up and the turn singles work, the dummy lights even light up but when the headlights come on, the gauges don't illuminate. Same goes for the climate control; it works and the display is good but the buttons don't light up.

I replaced the headlight switch was I wasn't getting power to the light blue/red wire on the dimmer side. (Dr. Google told me to do this) Both failed at the same time so I'm thinking it is not a bulb issue. What to chase next?

Hyundai - Sonata :: Heater Sputters After 20-30 Minutes On Cold Start And Lights On Control Unit Go Out

I've stumped the local dealership and their Hyundai Tech Line as well. This is a 2011 Hyundai Sonata with about 50k miles. Also this is my first winter with it so I can't tell you if it's a new issue or if it's always happened in the "cold". This is Northern California so the cold nights are about as low as 30.

On a cold start, after 20-30 minutes the heater sputters out and the lights on the control unit go out. Sometimes it goes back on if I continue driving for 5-15 more minutes; another way for it to go on again is to turn the car off and start it again. The final way to turn it back on (which was discovered the last time it was in the shop) is to gently begin to start the car again (while it's on) and just that slight movement in the ignition cylinder turns it back on.

The sputtering out doesn't actually turn it off completely, just the lights, buttons and knobs stop responding and the heat mostly goes off.

The control unit has been replaced, plugs have been tightened and the ignition cylinder has been replaced.

They've road tested it 3 times and I'm a little tired of having to get a rental car as they claim to not be able to start a new case with Hyundai Tech Line until they have my car.
