Ford Excursion :: 2004 6.0 - Oil Dripping Off Under The Engine
I noticed a little bit of oil in a spot under the engine. The oil was dripping off of this whatever it is adjacent to the main belt pulley. I don't see anything with ter in the engine. The front of the pan and I don't see anything up higher leaking (which doesn't mean there is not one-this is my first diesel) Then I see the frigging fitting of the transmission line going into the radiator with a leak. Not sure what to do with that fitting? That entire line up to the filter would have to be replaced, wouldn't it? These are not major but they will drive me crazy.

6L Turbo Diesel .... I still have this returning oil drop on the oil pressure regulator. That fluid does seem to be oil.
Now I found what appears to be coolant dripping off the power steering pump. I have had to add a small amount of coolant every week...not much but definitely noticeable.
I have a new OPR which I will replace. These pics are from looking up at the mail pulley and to the left (power steering)..
Ford Excursion :: 2005 V10 Transmission Leaking / Dripping Right On The Exhaust
I have an 05 ex v10 4x4 with 3.73 gears, Was towing my camper (9000#s fully loaded) after about 100 miles pulled off highway and tranny fluid was dripping out of a grommet in the bell housing. Dripping right on the exhaust and it looked like it was on fire.
All gauges showed everything running cool. Checked fluid and couldn't see any loss. Continued to our location and it seemed to stop. Checked tranny fluid continuously and never really showed much loss. Just enough to cause smoke on pipes.. Drove home and stopped leaking. Got two miles from house and started again.
Tranny temp gauge never moved. Does seem to work because I watch it heat up and then stays at the same temp always. This was a 400 mile roundtrip here in flat Florida in the 90's.
Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: 2012 F250 - Oil Dripping On The Underside Of Front Of Engine
Ok so I bought this 2012 f250 and I had a couple questions.
1. I checked the Frame for rust n it was fine. I didn't look at the other parts until I got it home. It does have some light to moderate rusting on other areas under the engine compartment. Ex axle, drive shaft, some of the steering components. Exhaust Manifold is pretty rusty though. What can I do about that?
2. I noticed a little bit of oil, not dripping, on the underside of the front of the engine. I do have an extended warranty so i hope it will cover that. It's pretty extensive of a warranty. I took some pics of the area where there is oil. What could it be?
Most of the oil is focused around there ...

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Coolant Dripping Off The Front Sensor On Brake Master Cylinder
Stopped after a hard pull and noticed I had coolant dripping off the front sensor on the Brake Master cylinder. Coolant level was down in the Degas bottle. Searched everywhere for the source of the leak, and couldn't see anything. Today the drip had stopped, but when I squeezed the rear heater return hose under the Degas bottle it appeared to have a wet spot form.
I'm thinking I have a very tiny pin hole, and plan on pressurizing the system to see if I can determine for sure this is where it is. Before I do though, where this high pressure leak might be coming from? Degas bottle and cap is less than a year old. Doesn't appear to be any signs of leaks around the clamps. That rear heater hose.
Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Brake Fluid Dripping Onto Front Tire - Use Cruise Control?
OK, so a friend's F150 just went up in flames in his driveway and he told me that the problem was the hot link behind a plastic/ rubber barrier at the main brake cylinder. I had a recall notice on my old truck but since I left the US and took the truck I never paid much attention to it, thinking typical overkill. Now I already heard from another buddy who caught lit brake fluid dripping onto the front tire and got the fire out before it spread and looked up the info today. Looks like our trucks are affected. Best to unplug the harness that goes into the brake master cylinder will prevent this problem from occurring? I never use cruise where I am, the roads are too small and slow.
View 6 RepliesSaturn - Vue :: Oil Is Dripping Onto Front Manifold
03 vue 3.0. Oil is dripping onto front manifold. Why is there so much buildup on front surface of cover? Oil does not flow uphill. The manifold is directly below this spot. Could it be oil vapors/condensation somehow collecting on this surface? If PCV was bad would oil seep out a bit around fill port opening?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Coolant Leak / Dripping Down Onto Passenger Side Front Leaf Spring
2003 F250 7.3... I noticed a water leak dripping down onto passenger side front leaf spring. I saw this before but attributed it to the AC (which kicks butt) but haven't used the AC. No scent to the clear fluid, temps all look good. Running fine. Where does the AC discharge go? Could AC be on (not on AC but set in blue zone on dial)? Reservoir looks ok but could e small volume of drips.
View 12 RepliesGolf IV / Jetta IV :: Coolant Leak - Dripping At Front Right Tire
My car is a MK4 1.8t 2001 model.
Recently I've been losing a decent amount of coolant, and I noticed a puddle of water forming up right in front of my front right tire. I've inspected the engine bay, and the water seems to be coming from beneath the coolant reservoir itself, and forming a puddle under the windshield washer bottle. Which ends up dripping under the bumper in front of the right tire.
I didn't have any time to do more inspection, not even to take pics. The car is left at home as i don't want to drive it while it's leaking. Where to inspect or which parts to take off in order to spot the leak... No overheating has occurred, yet.
1.2 54 Plate Corsa - Fluid Dripping From Front Left Hand Side
My 1.2 54plate Corsa has been dropping a very small amount of fluid its dropping from the front left hand side but not sure on exact location the fluid is to watery to be oil I think but is worrying me it seems to be covering a fairly large area under the car but it doesn't drop only in very small quantities?
View 1 RepliesPrius (2004-09) :: Large Puddle Of Water Under Car - Dripping From PS Front Bumper Area
I have a 2005 Prius. I came home the other day and parked the car in the garage. I came back out the next morning to find a large puddle of water in the garage and the car still dripping. The drip is from the PS front bumper area just ahead of the front PS wheel. This is not the typical AC water puddle; we have two Prius so I am familiar with that one. I searched here and found a few threads on water pump issue but the description did not quite match what I have going on.
View 7 RepliesTouareg :: Leaking Sunroof / Rain Water Dripping On Front Seats And Running Inside The Headliner
Apparently, VW assumes that if you have a sunroof, you must be willing to tolerate rainwater dripping on your front seats and running inside the headliner. I can accept almost anything, but this is beyond belief.
I have seen a mention or two of water on the floor (and I didn't even check for that), maybe a leaking sunroof before, but I never thought it would happen to me.
Ford Excursion :: Pop Noise In Front End / Left Front Wheel Grinding
Driving at hwy speeds and head a pop noise in front end. Stopped and couldn't find anything, heard it a couple of more times, still nothing found, now I have a grinding noise left front wheel. What the issue may be. 2001 Ford EX 4X4.
View 6 RepliesFord Excursion :: Front End Vibration At 55 Mph
My new to me 04 X has a fairly bad vibration that starts around 55 mph. At about 60-65 it sort of goes away, but not completely. The wheels are 20" F-250 wheels ( 2006 ) with spacers/adapters. These were on it when I bought it. I had the wheels re-balanced and checked the ball joints. This made no difference.
This is not what I would call the death wobble, just a bad vibration in the front end. The steering wheel does shake/vibrate a little, but so does most of the truck while it is doing it.
Ford Excursion :: Front Right Headlamp Out
I have a HID kit in my ex and I noticed my front right headlamp out. I then started smelling like something burning. I popped the hood to find the hid box smoking. Needless to say I am ripping it out tomorrow. What's everyone using nowadays, I am going back with a standard bulb. I have the 02 style in my truck...

I am thinking of switching my front end of my plain ole 01 to an 05 and up. I'm torn on getting rid of the chrome and going all painted up grille and bumper or getting a chrome set up. I found a paintable 05 take off with the oval for 60 bucks. Who out here has a all painted front end on your ex with pics. I know there are plenty with the chrome set up. I have 2 people emailing me about buying their grille now.
View 7 RepliesFord Excursion :: Clunking From Front End?
I recently ran into the "clunking from the front end" problem with my Excursion. It is 2WD but this might apply to all. I had the clunk under my left foot while driving over a series of small bumps. It was a rapid clunking. One big bump, or things like speed bumps did not produce the noise or feel in my feet. Only rapid irregularities in the road at 35 mph or greater made it happen.
It made me crazy trying to figure it out. I tried everything. Both sets of swaybar links, shock mounts, track bar mounts, made sure brake calipers were tight, you name it. It showed its ugly head every time I hit small bumps in succession at speed. Even tried to re-seat the coil springs but that didn't work! My front bearings made NO noise. There was NO play in them by hand while up on jacks. I had taken them out and repacked them while replacing front brakes. At my wits' end, I went for a "hail mary" shot. I purchased new bearings. Took it all apart, packed the new bearings and replaced.
Low and behold! The damn "clunking" is now gone! So, in short, IF you have a clunking that nothing else seems to fix, just try replacing the bearings even IF you feel NO play in them. I couldn't believe that bearings that felt so tight by hand would be causing such clunking.
Ford Excursion :: Noise From Front End?
My Ex developed a speed sensitive squeal from the drivers front last night and I am not sure whats up so I'm looking for some input..... First off it has warn manual lock outs on it, the squeal kinda sounds like what rubber against rubber or wet rubber sounds like. there is no heat anywhere I can feel its not pulling side to side..... it usually comes on after I hit a small bump and goes away under 10mph. But, if I lock the drivers side hub it goes away no matter what the speed, also with both the hubs in free wheel it will go away if I engage the transfer case while its squealing......last summer it got a complete brake job, all ball joints were replaced and axle joints were done.
