Elantra MD (2010-15) :: 2013 GLS Center Console Is Off
I have a 2013 Elantra GLS. I use a USB stick to listen to music. Sometimes it would reset the center console/radio if I leave the USB stick in, but this time it didn't turn back on.

Since I've had this car I randomly get a buzzing which I thought was coming from the centre console. It sometimes lasts 2 minutes, sometimes 15. Hunted it down last night and it sounds to be coming from the passenger side foot well. The only electrical component I can see up under there is whatever is in the photo.

I just bought a used 2012 Elantra GLS with 24K miles. I tested almost every possible function of the car before I bought it however I didn't try out the 2 power outlets expecting them to both work on a car with only 24k miles.
Anyway, the center console outlet doesn't work. I'd like to check the fuse box first thing in the morning. I work night shift so I won't be able to get to it til then. Any other things I should look for?

I've noticed lately that I wish the lights on the temperature control display and the clock were a brighter during the day. Especially when the Sun shines on them and they get washed out. I've tried increasing the display brightness, but it doesn't really seem to work. Could I just have a dim display?

My 2004 v8 has been in the shop 6 times for the same air conditioning problem. My local VW dealership removed much of the center console and dash at the last visit for no reason. It ended up not being the issue. Now many of the lights do not work. This includes the fog light button, valet, vent control rocker switches, side mirror control, seat heater, transmission gear select, rear heated seat controls and vent control rockers. The lights for the dimmer switch and rear screen do not work as well. Now my tiptronic is not working and things seem to be deteriorating with a ground fault workshop error. I am really worried that they have messed things up. They claim it is because the light switch is bad. They also replaced all of the witches to no avail.

I replaced the factory head unit with a aftermarket radio. While making adjustments my battery died, I jumped my battery and now I don't have any dash lights. I found 3 blown fuses that I have replaced, however the only lights that don't work is the dash lights. I replaced the headlight switch and the dash lights are still not working?

Both front seat heaters are not working on my 2009 Avalon XLS. The center console lights do not illuminate. I presume it's not the fuse because according to the owners manual the 7.5A fuse also controls dash light, power outlet and flashers and they all work. Could it be another fuse, or something else? I can use a voltmeter

Today when I got to school and put my car in park the idle immediately went unusually rough. Then I noticed my passenger airbag light was flickering but also were all the other lights around there (Climate control, heated seat button, etc). I took a video to show it but you have to really look closely at the airbag light and even the ring around the fan speed dial. Now it gets even more interesting when I start my car to leave I notice it isn't on the average MPG screen anymore but rather trip A. So I switched it back but the average MPG had reset... but ONLY the average mpg and the time elapsed clock. Finally when I started driving it felt as if the transmission memory or the part that "tunes" the transmission to your driving habits had also reset as it was jerky, downshifting mainly (I know this because I've had it reset multiple times for various reasons and also when I disconnected the battery once). Loose battery terminal? HID's have anything to do with it?

I have two questions. Is this one of those wear and tear items not covered under the warranty? (I have 13 months left on the OEM warranty). If it is not covered, do I have to replace the whole console or is there a separate part I can buy to fix it myself.

My wife spilled some cola from the cup holders in the center console and it got into the Hi/Low range rotary switch and the stability control button. Now the button and switch are all sticky and barely work. Looking for instructions on how to take the center console apart so I can get to those switches and wash them out with alcohol or something to get them working again...
