Starting - Hyundai - Elantra :: 2006 - Won't Start Only Click Sound?
My 2006 Hyundai Elantra will not start. I went out yesterday to start it to leave for an appointment and I heard the battery try to engage and then only click, click, click. Is it the battery? I've thus far had no issues or problems with this car. I'm going to try and get it jump-started this morning to bring it to the mechanic. Could it be the starter?
View 2 RepliesElantra MD (2010-15) :: 2013 Hyundai 1.8L Auto GLS - Knocking Noise When Starting Engine
Weird noise I am hearing with my mothers new Elantra she just picked up. When starting engine has a knocking noise, not kinding. Letting motor run for a few minutes it goes away but is concerning. I was wondering if there is an issue with the MPFI engine which i believe is new this year which replaced the GDI engine. Definitely does not sound normal to me. to me it sounds like a rode knock or hydro lifter issue. Are these engines known for this. My mother traded her 2012 civic for this with 4500 miles. She did not like the seats and dash board layout in it and we got a good deal on this car.

View 18 RepliesHyundai - Elantra :: 2009 - CEL Comes On / Code P0011
My check engine light comes and goes on as it pleases. When I check the code it says P0011 for cam timing too advanced. That said, I have 0 symptoms for this code, my car runs great, average 30mpg, smooth idle and shifting. My inspection is coming up and I cant have this light on when I take it in. What to do to diagnose why its on, or how to replace the appropriate part. A ball park price is great too.
Vehicle has 134K miles and is well maintained.
Hyundai - Elantra :: AC Will Not Come On / Lights Flicker On Dash
My 2005 Elantra has no running lights, a/c won't come on, dash lights don't come on, and lights flicker on the dash when I have started the car and it has been on for a few minutes. Where I can look for a short or possible main fuse box in the engine? All the fuses in the interior box are fine. Headlights, wipers, and radio all work fine.
View 2 RepliesHyundai - Elantra :: 2009 - EPS Light Came On / Power Steering Went Out
In March 2012, the EPS light came on in my Elantra and the power steering went out. At first, when I would restart the car, the light would go off for a time and the power steering would work, but soon it would revert to EPS light and no power steering. I took it to the dealer who ran a couple of updates and tightened a loose connection. All was well until January 2013, when the EPS light came on again and the power steering quit working. No amount of restarting, crossing fingers, or using bad language, would make the light go off and return the steering to normal. Back to the dealer I went. This time the verdict was bad.
Now, in July 2013, my battery (which I had replaced in January 2013) died. Seriously died. Not a sound, not a click. When the car was jump-started, imagine my surprise when the EPS light was out and the power steering worked. After a new battery was in place, the power steering continued to work just fine - so far. My question is this. Would a bad/low battery have anything to do with the EPS malfunctioning? Today, I took the car in for a recall fix and asked this question of the service manager. He said, of course not, but to keep my fingers crossed and hope that it continues to work. So, how can a steering column that needs to be replaced, suddenly begin to work at precisely the moment there is a full electrical charge available to the car? How can there not be a connection?
Hyundai - Elantra :: 2009 - No Start / Engine Turns Over For A Second
My Mom has a 2009 Hyundai Elantra, 25k, good car no problems until yesterday. Turn the key and it cranks (turns the engine over for a second) then the starter kicks off (spins real and stops spinning the engine). It won't start like this. The car only has 25k on it, with the Hyundai 100k warranty.
View 1 RepliesAccent MC (2006-11) :: 2007 Hyundai Starting To Oscillate Left And Right
So, I have a 2007 Hyundai Accent MC (1.4, 71kw) and for the past 2 years I have a very strange problem with the car. At first, when I was reaching a 70 km/h (43 mph) the car was starting to oscillate left and right. It isn't a vibration. It's more like a shaking. Also, when I change 1st to 2nd gear, in acceleration, i feel the same symptom, more like a vibration this time.
The oscillation happens between 70-90 kmh (43 - 60 mph). I really can not figure this out. While accelerating it happens the worst.I changed two sets of wheels and 3 sets of tyres. Also, I don't feel the brakes having a problem. While slowing down, I feel no other vibration in my brake pedal, just the one caused by the oscillation.
Ford Wiring/Electrical :: Interior Lights Coming On Dimly And Relay Buzzing
I have a 2000 F350 7.3. I started out with my batteries dying after a few days of sitting. I found the interior lights were coming on dimly, and the relay buzzing. great, got it. I pulled the fuse and ordered the dimmer/light switch. I came back next week and the batteries are dead again. Charged them, drove the truck, and then the radio starts coming on without the key on. Pulled the radio.
Next day the truck starts fine, but now the seatbelt noid is going off all the time and the tranny overdrive is blinking "off" but still shifts fine, and goes into overdrive. The speedometer also works erratically... I read a post about the marker lights leaking, I looked and that's a definite possibility. My question is are all these related back to the GEM or BCM? or more problems?
Rodeo :: Intermittent Starting - All Lights On Dash Are On And Engine Light Flashing
I have Holden Rodeo, am assuming these are very similar cars if not the same. Our 2004 Rodeo is having intermittent trouble starting, sometimes when the key is turned it is dead, no clicking noise, all lights on dash are on and engine light flashing. it goes from being dead to a short turning of engine, eventually it will turn over but may have trouble firing. the next time it will start perfectly.

Hyundai Elantra SE ("sedan"?), 2009, manual - after the dealer replaced the brake light switch (or some such) as a recall service, soon after - but perhaps unrelated - the cruise control doesn't work at all from the driver controls. No nothing. All of a sudden. I read about the relays, fuses, however didn't make much of it - overlooked perhaps....
View 7 RepliesHyundai - Elantra :: Radio Dies / Lights Start To Dim And Lose Power Steering
First, while driving, my radio dies, my lights start to dim, and I lose my power steering. The first local shop I took it to installed a new alternator and I drove it home. Died again while I was driving. They then replaced three alternators with same results thinking they were bad. Ended up refunding my $400 and putting my original alternator back in and I had my car towed to the Hyundai dealer.
They had car for four days while testing it after charging the battery. They could find nothing wrong with it(again, no charge). Picked it up and drove it home(with someone following me). Two day latter, dead again. What is draining my battery? Do I have a short or something?
Hyundai - Elantra :: 2006 - Cruise Control Won't Set
I have a 4 cylinder manual transmission that the cruise control won't set. The light will come on it just won't set. I don't see any vacuum hoses and can't find any blown fuses. All the lights brakes, parking, and flashers seem to be working fine.

I've got a 2009 Hyundai Accent, 28k miles on it, and was working fine until today. When I turn the key, the lights on the dash come on, but the engine doesn't turn at all. My battery seems to be fully charged. I checked my ignition fuses and everything seems fine. Is there anything else I could try? I'm still under warranty, but it's such a hassle dealing with those dealership types.
View 1 RepliesElantra HD (2006-10) :: 2007 Hyundai Cranking Over But Won't Start
Hyundai 2007 Elentra Manual 5 speed..
Car won't start, Replaced Battery.
Have checked starter motor, its fine and cranking over
Have checked spark plugs and they are sparking.
Fuel pump wasn't working and after spending ages getting the back seats off and causing movement there, the car started. So fuel pump was replaced. Car went back to not starting after fuel pump replaced. Could this still be an associated issue with the 2008 recalls (Some components in the original fuel pump may be compromised by ethanol blended fuel.) Have checked relays and they seem to be working and fine. Have connected up and tried to find any fault readings come up and nothing is there.
Hyundai - Elantra :: 2006 - In Damp Conditions Won't Start Up
My 2006 Hyundai Elantra has developed an intermittent starting short that seems to only occur in damp conditions. The intermittent starting short/fault seems to only occur in the mornings when the car has sat overnight outside. When I put the key in the ignition all the regular lights and bells will ding as normal, but when the key is then turned from "on" to "start" the entire electrical system cuts off. No interior lights, gauges, dash lights, nothing. However, if I pop the hood and then drop it, electrical power will be restored. I have been doing this for the past two weeks while I tried to determine the conditions of the fault. This morning however, this "fix" wouldn't restore electrical power but the short occurred again in a cycle and the car never did start, despite trying the hood pop/drop method 10 times.
I had it towed to a shop this morning. When the car and I arrived, it started normally without issue. (of course!) I'm wondering if riding on the back of a tow truck dried out something or if that was immaterial. The person who looked at my car noticed a loose negative battery pole attachment and replaced the negative battery clamp. (His advice was to start small before needlessly pulling things off trying to find the fault.)
So, what could cause this or what course of action to pursue? The car has 94,000 miles and this is the first real issue it has had.
Hyundai - Elantra :: 2006 Revving Up - RPMs Go Flying Every Time When Fired Up
2006 Hyundai Elantra. RPM's go flying everytime it's fired up. RPM's will drop once it's put into gear, reverse or drive and runs just fine afterwards. If it's not affecting how it drives should we just let it be? Is there anything to be concerned about?
View 2 RepliesHyundai - Elantra :: 2006 - Cruise Control Cuts Out After Driving For 25 Minutes
The cruise control cuts out after driving for 25+ minutes. The rpm's rev up to 4000 and the speedometer goes wild just before cutting off. It can be reset but does not hold for long. Short trips and a cooling-off period for the engine seem to work. The dealer could not replicate the condition.
