Elantra MD (2010-15) :: Clicking Sound Coming From Front Right Wheel While Driving Straight Or Turning
I have a clicking sound coming from the front right wheel, happens while driving straight or turning. My guy checked the cv boots, axle bolt, various other connections that seem fine. Then he takes a phrase out of Satan's handbook and says "take it to the dealer". I saw the horns on his head and the red eyes while he was saying it. So I made apt for next week. I don't think it's anything serious , Orr maybe it's something to do with the rotor, caliper, break pads ? Everything else seems tight.
View 3 RepliesElantra HD (2006-10) :: 2009 - Clicking Sound When Backing Up
My wife just noticed a weird sound when coming home from work this morning. When backing up, you can hear what sounds like a clicking sound coming the car. The noise doesn't happen if the car is stopped and in reverse. It starts when you start to move and the faster you go, the louder and faster the clicking is. After this, I now found out my sister's boyfriend backed into the car last night pushing it down the driveway while it was in park. From my understanding, the car moved about 6 or maybe a little more inches. There is no damage to the bumper except the part that came unclipped which I just pushed back together with my hand and it's fine. The license plate is a bit bent though. It's an 09 auto and the park break was not engaged during last night's incident. What it could be? It sounds like it's coming from the front somewhere but I can't pinpoint where. I looked at the front under the hood close to the bumper but see no physical damage. I'm thinking CV or axle.
View 11 RepliesElantra HD (2006-10) :: 2008 - Steering Wheel Makes A Binding Noise When Turning
I have a 2008 Elantra with 59,000 miles. When it is warm out (70 F+), the sterering wheel makes a binding noise (squeeking noise - it is hard to describe) when turning. It doesn't do this all the time and it is much more noticeable when it is warm out. The temps are usually mild. This is a recent problem as I haven't noticed it before.
Should I be concerned about this? I want to get it checked before the 60,000 mile mark in case this is a serious issue such as rack and pinion steering problems.

View 14 RepliesElantra HD (2006-10) :: 2008 - Makes Clicking Sounds Gradually And Dies Ultimately - Faulty Timing Belt
2008 Hyundai Elantra, 2.0 it. We replaced a bad water pump, and timing belt while we were there. I followed directions found on multiple websites. We spun the crank shaft to the top dead center mark on the crank sprocket/engine block, and the cam sprocket / assignment mark. Then removed tensioner, and belt. Installed new belt and ensured alignment marks had not moved. Applied pressure to tensioner and tightened. Reassembled everything else. Car started with no problems, drive for about twenty minutes started making clicking sound from under the hood, we turned around to come back home and the car still making clicking sounds gradually started to loose power and speed until the engine stalled and would not restart. Trying to find out what could have happened.

I was trying to change my disk from 12.1 to 13.1 in my 2008 GS 350 AWD. so I ejected the disk via the screen, took it out and put the new one in. Started making a continuous clicking sound and then took the disk half-way out then in then totally out. Ok, maybe a bad disk so I tried to put 12.1 back in and same thing happened. Ok now I tired the original disk that came with the car. Same thing. Very odd. It worked fine up until the second I took it off.
View 14 RepliesElantra HD (2006-10) :: 2008 - High Pitched Squealing Sound
I have a weird issue, whenever I'm driving in pretty wet conditions (or drive through a puddle and make a "wall of water") I hear a high pitched squealing sound. Sounds like it is coming from the front right (passenger side) of the car when driving in wet conditions.
View 7 RepliesPrius V :: Clicking Sound When Slowing And Turning Right?
Oddly enough, I only get this when the car is slowing to the last few mph, say 8 and lower & while turning to the right. Straight or left it doesn't do this.
I have looked under and around the tire/wheel to see if there is a stick or something but there isn't anything that I see.
It sounds like the playing card in the spokes of a bicycle. The click slows as the car does, so I swear it is something that is coming in contact with the wheel.
Elantra XD (2001-06) :: Clicking / Popping Noise When Reversing, Turning The Wheel And Braking
Okay I have a 2006 Hyundai Elantra with 56,000 miles. Whenever I have been driving for a while in town and and the car is heated up, I get a clicking/popping noise coming from the front end whenever I reverse, turn the wheel, and then brake.
I've been testing it more but it won't always click or pop when i turn the wheel, but when I push the pedal down to stop it clicks and pops a lot. And then as I turn the wheel back without being on the brake pedal it'll click a little bit more.
Normally this would sound like a suspension problem but the fact that I have to push the pedal down to "activate" the sound has me baffled. And the weird thing is, is sometimes when I'm turning into a parking spot at low speeds it will click just a little bit..
It almost feels like the brake lines are getting tangled up and making sounds. I know that's not the case but I'm trying to describe the sound. It's not the normal pop you would get when a tie rod is going out. It doesn't really sound like its metal on metal. And it doesn't constantly click while reversing or turning like it would if it were the CV axle.
The car stops just fine though.. I'd even say the brakes are pretty touchy. The other issue I have with brake sounds is coming from the back. When I'm slowing down ... at around 15 mph it will click in the back every rotation. It has to be coming from the drum brakes. That doesn't concern me so much as it probably is time for new pads or something in the hardware needs tweaking.
Passat (B6) :: Clicking Sound When Turning The Steering Wheel
Getting a slight clicking sound/feel when turning the steering wheel when either stopped or moving very slowly. It's most noticeable when turning in and out of a parking space. Don't think it's subframe but may the strut bearing caps.
View 16 RepliesAvalon 2005-12 :: Clicking Or Knocking Sound When Turning Right Especially In Reverse?
For the past couple of months my 2005 Avalon XLS has developed a clicking or knocking sound when I am turning right. I especially notice it when in reverse and turning right. Not only can you hear hit somewhat, but I can feel it vibrate through the brake pedal. It does do it while driving, but it is more noticeable when in reverse. It is also most noticeable when moving at slow speeds, such as in parking lots. It will also do it if the car is angle parked and the wheel is turning right.
Thus far my mechanic has replaced the struts, the linkage assembly, and done some work on the steering column. I'm tired of paying my mechanic to simply swap parts.
Camry :: 2009 LE / Clicking Sound When Turning The Wheel In Either Direction Half Way Or More?
i have a 2009 Camry LE. I got it (used with 43.000 miles in February 2011) i've noticed a clicking sound when i am turning the wheel in either direction half way or more. The clicking speeds up as the car does and slows as the car slows. It's more noticeable at low speeds. I've read about the ABS clicking when the car is started but the noise is not present unless turning.

On my 2012 Camry XLE with 22,500 miles, just had the drivers side drive shaft assembly replaced, under warranty. Was getting a clicking sound when turning. Not too happy, car comes off warranty in September. They also updated computer on a recall for the torque shutter.
Then he tells me I need an oil change (was just done, oil shiny clean). He said oil looked dirty. Also said I needed a fuel injection cleaning (at 22.5k?), and new tires. OEM tires are garbage. Wheres the Toyota quality and integrity?
