Prius (2010-12) :: How To Remove Rear Side Headrest
My daughter's car seat will fit our Prius much better if I can remove the rear side headrest. How do I go about removing it?

I'm trying to take out the rear headrest on my dad's 2011 F150 crew cab so that i can put my kid's carseat back there. I hit the two release buttons, but the headrest hits the ceiling before the pegs come out of the holes. How are you supposed to remove these things? Does the seat lean forward somehow?

I have a 2010 4 door GTI. I'd like to install my daughter's front facing Britax child seat either in the rear right or rear central position. However, in either case, I'm finding that most of the rear weight ends up on the headrest and I would like to simply remove the headrest from that seating position.
I read in the user manual that to remove the headrest,I pull it to it's highest position and then push the button on the right side of the plastic entrance of the head rest into the seat, and 'simply' pull the headrest vertical out of the seat.
This is similar to how this was done in other cars I've owned. However it is not working for me with the GTI. Once I pull the headrest to the highest possible position I can get to, I press the button but the headrest simply refuses to come out. I've tried this on the other rear seat and same problem. With the middle rear seat I can't seem to pull the headrest out beyond its lowest position.

How to tilt or bend the headrest to make it tilt back about 1". I also thought of removing some padding. I deal with it right now by putting in the headrest backwards. It makes for a pain in the neck on long trips. I can't believe they did not make it adjustable. I have the SE V6 with leather.

I am trying to install a pair of headrest screens in my 02 and can't seem to fish the wire down the seat. I have removed the hog rings at the bottom of the seat but when I try fishing a wire coat hanger down from the top I am hitting something about 5" down and can't get past it. I am a little leery of removing the leather seat cover (especially since I don't know what I am doing).

I have a 2002 Camry SE (V6) with approx. 180K miles. The Engine mounts were shot so I decided to change them. I am a reasonably qualified mechanic (FAA Aircraft Mechanic) and perform most my work on my cars so didn't think this would be a big deal.
My procedure was to jack up front & put frame on jack stands then removed both wheels. Then with hydraulic jack and blocks under oil pan I started by removing all or the three lower engine mount hold down nuts (3 on bottom, 1 on top of each. NOTE: I changed the dogbone first which took 5 minutes.
I then jacked up engine about two inches or so and pulled out each old mount, then lowered engine back down making sure everything lined up as best I could. Then finished by tightening all of the nuts. Done. ....or so I thought.
When I went to start, the engine cranked but with a an unusual vibration and generally rough idle, more noisey than usual. When I drive it shift fine and everything works, just unusual vibration and noisey inside car.
I also used my BOSCH code checker and got ZERO CODES.
What is even more unusual is the engine when you are outside the car listening sounds fine. Just sitting inside do I sense the unusual vibration and noisy idle.
I checked for loose vacuum hoses, anything obviously pulled loose, etc and found nothing.
Again the car started and idled fine before the engine mount change now starts kind of rough and is noisy [inside car] but quiet outside.
nothing really changed except the moving of the engine block up and down to get the old mounts out.
Toyota - Camry :: 2004 - Vibration After Motor Mounts Replaced
I have a 2004 4-cylinder Camry. Saturday I changed the passenger side motor mount which was broken and the front motor mount, which did not appear to be broken, but there was more play in it than in the replacement. I had to take the battery out and the air intake in order to have enough room to remove the front mount. To remove the front mount, I jacked up the engine with a 2 X 4 underneath the oil pan so as not to damage it. The passenger side wheel rose several inches off the ground. After everything was back together, the car ran rough at first but eventually got better. The only symptom that remains is a noise and slight vibration when the car is in drive. In neutral and all other gears there’s no noise or vibration. They noise seems to be slightly less when the car starts to roll, and after a few seconds in motion, I can’t hear it. What’s causing the noise? If there a third motor mount that I may need to replace?

Going to replace motor mounts. Foot on brake and placed in gear engine flexes back about 2". Doesn't seem to flex side to side or forward. Replaced dog bone the metal in the middle of the bushing had a visible crack. Still flexes. I am confused about replacing them. Should I replace all including the 2 rear mounts? This is what I have read in many posts and been told by a trans shop. Can I just replace the front and dog bone? Parts guy told me that was all that I needed to do if it wasn't flexing side to side. These things are expensive 170- ea for oems so if I don't have to replace the rear I won't. However I don't want to trash the new ones cause I didn't replace them all.

My rear seat headrest on one side is always up, and I can hear a motor running in the rear seat back whenever the engine is running. Shut the engine off, and the head rest remains up. I couldn't push it down with any reasonable amount of force. Does it need a complete headrest motor, or can the existing one be repaired?

Since my daughter has been complaining for lack of entertainment in the rear-seat while traveling, so rather than purchase a mobile DVD, headrest monitors seemed to make a better investment.
Today I took the headrest out of the drivers side to take some measurements and see if I can route wires through them, to under the seat. Didn't look likely. I also did not see any seat opening at the rear of the front seats.
I have heated seats so I don't wanna mess-up that aspect of these seats. Is there any way to route the wires without tearing up the seats. How this can be done. I want to get this info before ordering the monitors.
Phaeton :: 2004 - Driver Headrest Is Not Working?
My 04 was in for blown subwoofer replacements. After that, the drivers headrest is not working. I suspect one of the techs might have been leaning on the switch and fried the motor. All other seat functions are OK. Is there a separate (buried) fuse for the headrest motor? Is it next to impossible to get to?? Also, I'm going to start trying to dissasemble the dash to get to the A/C vent cover motors. I have parts ordered, and I'll try to keep you all informed. Should be interesting.

i am going to install built in DVD headrest monitors into my 2007 touring prius. I have posted questions about this before, but looking fopr detailed info on how to install these myself. Ive been told there is an amp under my drivers seat where i can do all the wiring, but I am not sure & don't want to screw things up. How to do this or has a wiring guide or anything like for this, that be real useful. Also, how to get the seat back off to feed the wires down, let me know that as well. I have the leather interior & the seat backs seem seamless. Its the power acoustik HDVD-9 model twin monitors.

The driver's headrest on my 07 V10 will not lock in the down position. The buttons on the side of the headrest only release from up to down. After a day of driving it works itself up and is annoying. My dealer looked at all of the 07 Touaregs on the lot and they all were the same. My 04 V8 never had the problem of working itself up.

I have a 2011 Phaeton with manually adjustable headrests on the front seats, haven't checked the rears, the drivers headrest stuck in the up position after moving it to clean underneath, pushed the button to lower the headrest with no luck and noticed the button was loose and not seated properly so I pulled it all the way out long piece of plastic with a small plastic pin on the end, put it back in a it bends the pin to the side, so decided to check out the passenger side it has a shorter piece of plastic with the same piece of plastic on the end and you guessed it that won't go back in either.

Have a Camry sleep 04 since new. Seems like my daughter spilled something on the back seat and got under the seat...smell like hell! How do I remove the back seat? Tried pulling it up but won't come up or anything. Can't see any screws...they are leather seats, afraid of pulling it harder and breaking something.
