Toyota - Camry :: Won't Start - Getting A Single Click Or Strange Electric Stutter / Gurgle
So my 1991 Toyota Camry won't start.
Symptoms: I get a single click and sometimes a very strange electric stutter/gurgle (think I should call in just the try it on air...). Dash lights come on, dome light too. Windshield wipers work, but slowly as do the automatic seat belts that come back and choke you when your not ready for them (also slower than they should be). No radio, no driver or rear power windows, but the passenger side works as does the sun roof. The battery looks pretty new and the connections are spotless and firm.
Priors: Had the battery run down once before about a month ago... Jumped it and all was well for a while. We don't drive it much, not even daily. Also has temporarily failed to start maybe 5 times in the past 8 months. In those instances I get the rapid clicking and the power in the car seems normal. After a couple of tries it starts right up. Not sure how old the starter is, but I doubt it's recent.
I've checked the boards and found some stuff (power drain, solenoid, starter, clutch switch or something), but the power windows thing is pretty weird....
Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Truck Won't Start / Loud Click On Passenger Wheel Well And Then All Electric Completely Dies
Just tried putting a ts6 on my pcm. First time I hooked it back up I just got cranking with no start. So I pulled the pcm terminals really well plugged it back in and got nothing. I do not remember because I was kind of in a hurry if I unplugged the batter cables and back on the second time. I plugged it back in after cleaning terminals and went to start and got nothing. A loud click on passenger wheel well and then all electric in truck completely dies. I hope I didn't fry my pcm. Maybe just blew a fuse or starter relay?
View 6 RepliesPrius (Gen 2) :: 2007 - Electric Motor Takes Too Much Battery Power
So recently I was driving through highway 17 with 4 people and we'll my 07 Prius was slowing down like never I eventually smelled a little burn but I ignored it I just though the engine was working a bit to hard. Recently I noticed that on the energy screen it only shows that the battery is getting charged it sometimes used the battery to the motor but not often. I did notice though that I run with electricity more when I'm in the city. It's quite weird it's like the electric motor doesn't work on the freeway.
View 8 RepliesCentury :: 2000 Buick Won't Start - Making One Click Then Electric Swirling Sound
I have a 2000 Buick Century and i just recently had the fuel pump replaced because it was totally shot. Everything was fine except i realized when i started it sometimes it would crank really slowly, i thought it was the battery because the one i had in there was like 4 years old. One day it just straight up wouldn't start in a Public parking lot so i bought a new battery and it still wouldn't start. Every time i try to start it, it makes one click then a weird electric swirling sound, but wont crank at all. My buddy who has a lot of experience with cars thinks its the starter. We tried banging on it but no luck. How to confirm if this is the starter?

View 5 RepliesAccent LC (2000-05) :: No Electric Power At All After New Battery Installed
There is no electric power (no lights, no dash indicators, no starting, nada...) New battery just put in.
More background: old 'beater' hyundai, manual trans, not sure of year but older one (looks a lot like the picture for this forum). It was sitting in storage for over a year and was driven in to that slot. It belonged to my son's friend who just gave it to him. Was going to drive it away (tires, oil ok) but of course would not start. no lights will come on, interior or exterior. turning key in ignition to any position makes no difference - still no power to anything. Battery cables seem ok. Could find no blown fuses, either inside or under the hood.
So, what are we missing? What is the magical fix that will quickly get this thing on the road (we want to stop the storage fees too).
Camry :: 2007 SE - Route Power Cable From Trunk To Battery?
I am installing a wiring harness in my 2007 Camry SE so that I can tow a small flatbed utility trailer I have to carry my kayak on trips. I have the wiring harness all installed except for I now have to route the power cable for the harness from the trunk to the battery in the front of the car. The instructions give no suggestions on how to get the wire to the battery other than to avoid hot parts and suspension parts.
What would be the best and easiest way to get the wire to the front? I'm not well versed in car mechanics or how to take things apart so I would prefer the easiest, most direct way if there is one.
I have already found a grommet in the trunk with a factory wire harness going through it to the bottom of the car so I can route my wire through there, but after that where to go next. The only thing I can think of is there is several brackets holding the 2 fuel lines and the 2 rear brake lines, there is a open spot between the 2 fuel lines so I could use the empty spot in those brackets to hold the wire for most of the way to the front, do fuel lines get hot at all? Do you think it would be safe to route the wire that way?
As for getting into the engine compartment, how to do that without getting in the way of the front suspension while keeping the wire away from the transmission and axles.
If this is too complicated to do myself, my dad has a friend who is a electrician and likes to restore cars that could do it for me but he is almost always busy, thus hard to get a hold of and I like to try and learn some things about my car and do as much as I can on my own.
This is the trailer light wiring harness I have, there is a link for the instruction manual there too

Prius (2004-09) :: Hybrid Battery Runs Flat Every Morning - No Electric Power To Accelerate
It's been like that for a a while now. Every morning the hybrid battery would run down to last bar. When I start the car it would be 3/4 full and it would keep draining even though I'm on flat road.
The overall mileage has not changed much but its annoying with the battery goes to last bar and there's no electric power to accelerate.
Camry :: Battery Dead - No Power To Engine Now Won't Start
My battery was dead. Jumped the battery but hooked up cables wrong. Put car on battery charger.
Car has power now. Turns over but does not start. Seems like no power to engine. Engine light is on.
Is there a fuse that needs to be fixed?

Golf V R32 :: Electric Sounding Click Coming From The Steering Column
I am getting an electric sounding click coming from the steering column, ECU area. It does not happen all the time. I heard it when I first got the car and it just started up again.
I am thinking the Unitronics chip I just got is having the ECU relearn everything and that is causing the clicking.
Camry :: 2004 Click Once And Won't Start Sometimes
I have an 04 Camry with a one year old battery. Twice now, about 6 weeks apart, when I tried to start it in the morning, it clicks once and that is all. I popped the hood, jiggled each battery cable (they're not loose, but I still jiggled the post area) and then it starts. The presets on the radio are gone, as if the battery were dead. Also...a couple of days before it happens, the idle is very rough, almost as if it's going to stall. But after an "episode" the idle is back to about 750 rpm and very smooth.
View 6 RepliesToyota - Camry :: No Click / Car Would Not Start
Strange things happened to my 1994 Camry.
1) Car would not start - no click, engine would not turn over. But I noticed some low voltage interior lights still on.
2) Jumped it. Started right up.
3) Took it on the road to charge the battery.
4) ABS light cycled on and off.
5) Felt like the timing was being cut back from 1500 to 1200 rpm. Could not go over 20 MPH.
6) Was able to drive it about 1/4 mile, but the car died while moving - fortunately coasted back into my garage.
7) Went out to jump again later, same symptoms. 8
8) An hour later, tried to start without a jump, and it started! No ABS warning light.
9) Replaced battery and checked ground. Battery was toast, alternator fine, ground ok.
No symptoms since, other that several dash lights no longer working. What happened? What was wrong? Is it fixed for good?
Camry :: 2010 - Electric Current Noise Coming From Steering Part On Cold Start
I just bought a used 2010 Camry 2.5 (31K miles) couples of weeks before. After weeks driving, I found some problems about the car.
1. when i start it in the morning (cold start), there is a electric currant noise coming from the steering part, when i press the break pedal, the noise disappear, but then it comes back when I release the brake pedal. It just last like half minute, the noise total gone when I drive or the car warms up. I cannot figure it out.
2. the steering is too..... light. I do not know whether the camry is this style or I just doubt whether the tie rod ends have problem. the steering always move with the tyres even just a little disperfection of the road.
Toyota - Camry :: 1997 - When Try To Start The Car Gets A Click
My girlfriend has a 1997 Toyota Camry with a 6 cyl engine. Low mileage - only 66k miles. She has a very sporadic problem for about the past year. Yesterday it happened for the first time in two months. She tries to start the car and gets a click. She turns the key back and it starts the next time she turns the key. Yesterday, it failed to start twice before it turned over. She talked to her mechanic who said the best thing to do is to wait for it to fail completely because it would be so hard to track down such a sporadic problem - could be the switch, a flat spot on the starter, or a host of other issues.

I woke up to a surprise this morning , the car earlier had this kinda issue where i would press the start button and it would not start and only make "Click" sound .. and after few attempts it would usually start and then this issue went away for few months for unknown reasons
Today it returned back i didn't move the car for 2 days over the weekend down here. I tried to start the car all it would do is Click sound but this time a very faint sound not like earlier where it was much louder .
I am assuming its the starter ? Where is it located ? What i read online and see could be just a bad starter selonoid .
Camry :: 2008 Toyota Wouldn't Start - Starter Just Click When Turn The Key
I bought a used 2008 Toyota Camry per-certified from a local Toyota dealer about 2 years ago. About a year and a half ago I got in the car to go to work one morning and it would not start. You turn the key and all the lights come on but nothing else happened. Took the battery to Auto Zone and they said the battery was OK so I had it towed to the dealership. Dealer called when he got it and said it cranked right up for them and it has not been an issue since.
Two days ago I get in the car to leave work and the same thing happens. You might hear the starter click when you turn the key but nothing else happened. The car was getting power from the battery but that was about it. I tried to jump the car off but still the same thing. I had the car towed to a local Goodyear shop and after looking at it the said it was a problem with the alternator, that needed to be replaced, which also killed a cell in the battery that needed to be replaced also. They said since they are replacing the alternator they might as well replace the belt also.
