Ford - Focus :: 2002 - All Spark Plugs Submerged In Oil

I have a 2002 Ford Focus coming up on 150k... still drives fine, but when I went to change the plugs today, I found all four of them submerged in oil. What's going on?

Grand AM :: 95 - Interior Water Leak On Driver Side

I have a 95 grand am that has a leak on the driver side. Every time I get in the car there seems to be water under my floor mat. I have already replaced the heater core on the vehicle because it did go bad. But this liquid is just water. It doesn't have any odor other then a smell of wet dog kinda.. I have perfect pressure on all my gauges and all my fluids under the hood are at the right level. What is going on with my car?

All i can think of is that i did drill a little 1/2in hole to run my power wire for my subs. other than that everything else is stock. Also there is no water on the passenger side, just the drivers side. I noticed when it rains a lot more water seems to be evident then before the rain.

Prius (2001-03) :: Water Leak Into Interior Passenger Floor

I had the engine replaced in my 2003. I know they had to remove the windshield wiper tray. Is this why rain water is entering the passenger floor?

Someone unfamiliar with Prius design did the work. If there's something that would have to have been resealed, I'm sure he didn't do it.

Any pointers to find or fix the leak?

Lexus ES 2013+ :: Tire Pressure Drop When Parked ES300H With Wheels Submerged In Icy Puddle

It's been harsh winter in NYC. Yesterday evening I parked my ES300H with right side wheels submerged in the icy puddle, meaning the water reached almost to the bottom of the brake rotors. Today I noticed that the rear back wheel looks flat. I check the wheel pressure in the dashboard, and I get 33psi on all wheels but 13psi on that flat one. I have no clue why the pressure drop didn't happen to the front right wheel. I pumped that flat tire and drove over 20 miles that day, no tire pressure drop.

So, the moral: Don't park/submerge your wheels in ice cold puddles.

Camry :: 2010 - Flooded / What Electronics Are Under The Seats

I have a 2010 Camry that was flooded during Hurricane Sandy. There was enough salt water in the car to reach the bottom of the front seats.

My dealer says that car should be considered totaled since the electronics under the seats are damaged.

What's mounted under the seats? The ECU? What else? Can I replace these units myself and be OK?

Saturn - Ion :: Trunk Flooded And Now The Engine Will Not Start

Four days ago, shortly after a hurricane. I tried starting my car and it wouldn't start. The lights, radio, and AC would turn on but the engine wouldn't make a sound. I left the car at my father's for four days without looking at it. I open the trunk to check the battery, and the well with the battery and spare tire is filled with water. The battery was almost completely submerged except for the top inch of the battery where the cables are connected. There is a metal connector between two cables that is completely rusted from the water. My question is, what do I need to do/get in order to get my car running again.

Passat (B5) :: Plugged Drain And Flooded Now Won't Starting?

My friend parked his 99 Passat 1.8T manual for a long time. Came back, car flooded inside (I am pretty sure the drain under the battery was plugged). He installed new battery. Not starting (starter not kicking in). I drove out with a spare ECU (same part number). No go.

Ran VAGcom scan (with my ECU in), only 2 engine codes (I did NOT scan with the original ECU installed; it was freezing cold in the parking lot).

2 Faults Found:
18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30
P1602 - 35-10 - Voltage too Low - Intermittent
16502 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62)
P0118 - 35-10 - Signal too High - Intermittent
Readiness: 0110 0101

a) Immo should not be an issue in those years (only code is the radio code IIRC when disconnecting battery). He has an aftermarket radio

b) Softcode of my ECU is 06201. Does the Passat need a different softcode?

c) Aside from ECU, what other parts can prevent the starter from turning and may be harmed by the 'flood'? Relays, fuses, etc?

Dodge - Ram1500 :: Crank Like It Is Flooded After Sitting For Over 30 Minutes

I have a 2005 Dodge ram 1500 Hemi that has had starting issues for over a year. After sitting for over 30 minutes, it will crank like it is flooded. If I lightly put pressure on the accelerator, it fires right up. It happens with regular or mid grade gas....but seems to happen more when at 1/4 tank or less. It starts normal first thing in the morning or after several hours of sitting. Now along with this, when I turn the key in the ignition, there will be a dead pause, then start cranking. Fuel pump and ignition switch?

Camry :: Musty Carpet Smell In The Car After Parking Lot Flooded In Thunderstorm

My sister has a 2008 Camry. While parked at work about 1 month we had a severe thunderstorm and the parking lot flooded. Water got inside the car and the carpets both front and rear got very wet. Now the car has a musty smell. I washed the carpets with Blue Coral upholstery cleaner with odor eliminator. Though it is a little better the musty smell still persists. What can I do to get rid of the smell?

Ford - F150 :: 1992 - Gas Flooded Engine / Hard To Start

Subject : Vehicle 1992 Ford Truck F-150 300cu. inch

Problem : Electrical

Description : Engine would stop running and as long the key switch was in the on position the electrical fuel pump would keep running and the end result would be a gas flooded engine. There was no way to predict when or where this occurrence would happen. It may be at a busy intersection or immediately after start up in the early morning. It may do this two or three times a week and then go a month without doing this, just about the time I thought everything was alright it would start up again.

I used just about every mechanic I could think of to diagnosis the problem. The fuel pressure switches were changed, map sensor, computer board, new distributor coil and module.A new alternator was also put on the truck to no avail. This truck was taken to a ford dealer garage. In my mind this would the the "Mayo clinical" for a sick Ford vehicle. The truck stayed there for about two weeks and left with the same problem it had arrived with.

Not long afterwards it came into my mind to install a new Ignition coil . That fixed the problem ! The truck ran good for about three months and then started the same thing again. I knew I was on top of the problem. I then put an old used Ignition coil on and it lasted about two weeks. Again resulting in the same problem. I then bought an expensive coil made in the USA "Blue Streak Brand". That has been about 5 years ago. The truck has never caused me any problems since.

Ford F-150 (2004-2008) :: 2006 - Seized Up - Injector Flooded The Engine?

My 2006 F150 with 77k seized up on friday. Sounds like a bad injector flooded the engine, caused hydrolock, and then bent a rod. I called the dealership today and they said the only fix is a new engine. I have 3 payments still left and now the dealership is telling me I gotta buy a new engine.

Mercury - Capri :: Rough Engine After Drove Through A Flooded Area Of Road - Gas Smelling Smoke

Yesterday evening I drove through a flooded area of the road, probably about 1.5 feet deep. I did not realize it was quite that deep. The water came through the floor, and probably soaked my ECU.

The engine died, but will idle very rough. I doubt I got water in the cylinders, not much at least, because the engine turned over no problem. I also have an air filter that would be difficult to get too much water into from the way it is situated.

It is putting out white smoke that smells like gas (a lot initially, now not as much), and the engine is smoking a little as well...white, gas odor...I think it is coming out around the exhaust manifold.4

It is running very rough, sounds like from 2 cylinders, and after letting it idle in the hopes of drying everything out, I noticed that the fuel gauge is at empty...it was at 3/4 earlier.

What should I start by doing?

Aurora :: 2001 3.5 V6 Won't Turn Over

I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora 3.5 V6. Last Thursday, I started it cold, drove it about 500 feet, and it just stalled. I didn't lose power or anything, it just stalled; I did lose power steering though. Something that may work is that the battery light came on and started flashing when the car stalled, and continued to flash when i attempted to start it.

The car cranks, it just never turns over. I do not lose power like the battery is draining when I attempt to start it (The dummy panel shows the battery dropping to 11.7V, and returning to 11.9/12V when I stop trying to turn it over. I can do this for 15 seconds at a time (It automatically stops trying to turn after 15 seconds) for a long time, and the battery never drains, so it is as if it is charging as I am trying to turn it over. (Not sure if that is important to note or not).

I had it towed home, did nothing to it other than try and start it (which didn't work). Let it sit the weekend, and it started with no issues Monday. Drove it to work, almost made it, and the same thing happened. Same exact thing, battery light came on and started flashing, and the car stalled. Had it towed back again, and it hasn't started since.

I have checked all fuses and relays, nothing shows signs of failure there.

When I turn the key, I can hear the fuel pump getting power also.

Here is what has happened to the car in the past year (excuse me if too much detail is included):

Replaced the Alternator
Replaced the Starter
Replaced all break lines
Replaced all brake pads, rotors, calipers, bearing/hub
Replaced fuel line

I have not tested the fuel pressure, because I do not have a tool to do so.

Aurora :: Blower Goes On And Off Randomly Whether On AC Or Heat

I have a 97 Aurora and I have had no other electrical or major issues with the car. However randomly the blower goes on and off. It does it on all the settings, and whether it is on AC or heat. It is really starting to bug me but its almost time to put it away for the winter and I would like to have it ready for "constant" cold AC this spring. I have tried tapping on the motor and it makes no difference. The temp flashes on the climate control all the time but it has always done this. What the random on/off issue could be? It is not throwing any body codes, just the usual o2 sensor in the engine.

Aurora :: 96 Just Cranking And Wouldn't Fire

I drove my Aurora 300 miles one morning and when I arrived home it was running fine. I shut it off and went in the house and after 10 mins, went to leave again. It just cranked and cranked and wouldn't fire. I assumed it was the fuel pump and upon pricing one out, decided to wait and just plated another car. The Aurora sat all winter and now with the weather a little nicer, decided to try and fire it up last week. It cranked for a few seconds and there was a small explosion under the silver cover plate on the motor. It sounded like a backfire. It did it 2 more times and I stopped trying. It seemed to be coming from the intake and the foam on the under side of that silver plate is singed on the side by the power steering resovoir. Is there something there that could be pooched? Could it still be a fuel pump being that there is something exploding there? Could it be a fuel rail issue? I have read that there have been recalls. And where is this fuel pressure regulator?
